Big Works Fence & Deck

Big Works Fence & Deck takes on fencing and deck projects from their base in Oregon City. Efim Babich runs the company as an outdoor living contractor, and the crew handles jobs such as fence line adjustments, gate installs, full deck rebuilds, concrete pads, staining, and tear outs with haul away. They work with wooden fences, metal posts set in concrete footings, railings, and larger setups on properties that include horse areas or creek sides.

Customers bring them in for rotted sections that have tipped over, old chain link removal, and deck replacements that also fix staircases or add space. James shows up on these jobs to confirm plans before cutting or pouring, enlarges gates when needed, and leaves everything sturdy with attention to every joint and footing. Reviews note clean sites after installs, debris handling alongside the main work, and results that hold up without issues for years.

The crew keeps in touch at each step, shows up as promised, and finishes on schedule while staying within the agreed budget. James stays available for questions during the project and works across the Portland area including spots like West Linn. Pricing often beats other bids, and they handle both small gate fixes and bigger acre-scale fencing with multiple styles without rushing the details.

Reviewers keep pointing to the solid build quality, clear updates, and professional approach on every fence or deck. The pattern holds across hundreds of jobs for timely completion and materials that last. DIRT Score 4.9 from 171 reviews on Finds.

“The team did a great job replacing a large section of rotted fencing that was tipped over into the neighbors yard. They also removed a large section of chain link and helped move my fence line forward on the property + installed a new gate for me. They were very good at checking in before installing anything to confirm it was exactly what I needed. Great quality, completed in a timely manner, professional installers, and very fair pricing. James even helped me enlarge the gate size from the original plan without any issues. They used metal posts with concrete footings and now the fence is sturdy & will last many years. Overall a great experience and I would highly recommend them for anyone looking to having their fences or decks built out!”

“James did our fencing and absolutely crushed it. Super easy to work with, clear communication, and the quality of the work really shows. Everything feels solid and well thought out, not rushed. He showed up when he said he would, kept the site clean, and was respectful of our space the whole time. It’s hard to find contractors around Portland that are this reliable and detail-oriented. Would 100% recommend James to anyone looking to get a fence or deck done right.”

“Big Works replaced our deck and installed a new concrete pad. We couldn’t be happier with the results. The quality of their work was outstanding, and the entire project was completed on time and on budget. James and his team were professional and efficient through the entire process. “We hired Big Works to rebuild our very large deck and it came out beautifully! James was very skilled and professional and provided a lot of great recommendations along the way. We’d definitely recommend them! Photos are before and after.”

“James and his crew exceeded expectations in every way on our new deck. Not only was his quote the best of everyone we looked at, he was able to help with yard debris and tree limbing. Both problems with most other companies we looked at. The deck he put up is amazing, and I wouldn't expect to get better quality work anywhere. It's solid as a rock and we are really happy with it. Even the staircase is rock solid and lands on a concrete pad they poured. I don't think we could have gotten a better deck anywhere else. I absolutely recommend Big Works to anyone, and will be calling James again when we are ready for some new fences.”
