Alvarado's Masonry Construction & Remodeling

Alvarado's Masonry Construction & Remodeling handles fencing and masonry work out of Schertz, Texas. Jose Luis Alvarado runs the family operation that covers stone walls, retaining walls, patios, walkways, flower beds, chimneys, fireplaces, outdoor kitchens, tuck pointing, concrete slabs, and related repairs across San Antonio and nearby spots. They take on both small fixes like mortar cracks and bigger jobs such as rebuilding walls or laying new brick. The crew sticks to full service masonry with free estimates and over 29 years behind them.

Customers call them for stone patio walls that hold up well, garage pillar fixes after vehicle damage, ramp pours at entries, and flower bed builds using matched bricks. Jose, Marlon, and Kevin show up on schedule, handle old door surrounds, pour backyard slabs, and rebuild fireplaces without extra charges. Reviews mention solid tuck pointing on century old homes, mailbox stonework finished in one day, and retaining wall replacements that look clean. Folks note the team stretches limited materials on tight jobs and matches mortar colors on older brick so repairs blend in.

They answer calls fast, often the same day, and keep quotes steady from start to finish with no surprise add ons for time or supplies. Work runs on time, crews stay until the task wraps, and they clean up after themselves. Service covers Schertz and the San Antonio area with early starts and long days when needed. Pricing stays reasonable according to multiple accounts, and communication stays direct throughout each project.

“I am very happy with the work completed by Alvarado Masonry. They finished a stone wall for my patio, and the final result exceeded my expectations. The quality of the workmanship was excellent, and everything was completed professionally with great attention to detail. The team was easy to work with, dependable, and showed up as promised to complete the job. I highly recommend Alvarado Masonry to anyone looking for high-quality, professional masonry work. Thank you!”

“We are very pleased with the service we received from Jose, Marlon and Kevin. They did excellent work, showed up on time every time, and were completely honest. If something was wrong, they fixed it. They made our 50 year old front door look brand new. They made a concrete paved ramp for our entry. Jose was excited to help with any new projects we gave him. They worked hard every day and did not waste our time. Best of all, the price he quoted was always the price we paid, with no additional costs for extra materials, time, etc!”

“Five stars isn't enough! Jose Luis Alvarado and his crew are masters of their trade. A car car backed into the garage pillars of our home. It moved the wall back five inches and left gaping caverns in our brick. Jose Luis came within one day of contacting him for a free estimate. His pricing was very reasonable, and his work was impeccable. What started out as a stressful, horrible situation turned into a stress free and quite frankly a pleasant experience watching these gentlemen work. We highly recommend Alvarado Masonry and Remodeling.”

“Jose did an amazing job on our flower bed. I had found our house’s bricks at Acme and purchased them which he installed. Turns out though I ordered short and Acme was out! But Jose, a Jedi master of bricklaying, had some spare bricks that he laid in places that wouldn’t be seen so we could stretch the stock. He also constructed a nice transition with our sidewalk. We also asked that the bed be naturally shaped, and IMO the result was something only a true artist can do (see photos). I researched many bricklayers before going with Alvarado’s. They were professional, prompt, detail oriented, affordable, and cared what I thought. We’ve had many compliments since. Great work Jose! Tu eres un artesano!”

“I hired Mr Alvarado to install wood flooring for my house. He also repaired repaired several mortar cracks around my home his color match was on point. His team also poured a 10' X 10 concrete slab in my backyard . He has also completed several other small jobs around our house like a water heater replacement, TV mount install, and outdoor camera installation. He has always done an amazing job and he’s very efficient! 10/10 recommend!”

“Alvarados does excellent work. We used this company twice recently. The first job involved rock work re-mortar in numerous places on our almost 3O year old home and refinishing concrete porch. It was so wonderful to see all the cracks disappear we decided to contract for drywall work and painting of the inside. Our house looks like new now thanks to their expertise and attention to detail! Also, it is important to note that this contractor honors his work and guarantees it. He is honest and can be trusted - you can’t say that about some others.”
