About
Cooper Installation Services does flooring work out of Carrollton, TX. They handle installs of vinyl sheet, Lifeproof vinyl planks, carpet and ceramic tile, mostly jobs that come through Home Depot. Crews show up to pull old flooring, prep the subfloor and lay the new material, then handle trim and cleanup on the same visit when the job runs smooth.
Homeowners describe kitchen vinyl jobs where Leonel Rivera and Randall worked step by step, kept the site tidy and finished without damaging cabinets or walls. Other jobs include ripping out wall-to-wall carpet across a thousand square feet in a day and a half, laying carpet in bedrooms and hallways, and setting ceramic tile throughout downstairs rooms. Carlos and his helper moved fast on carpet removal and reinstall while wearing shoe covers and laying drop cloths. Sead handled a tile project with close attention to seams and edges.
Reviewers note that crews often arrive the same day Home Depot schedules them and finish in a few hours on smaller rooms, but some jobs run into extra charges for leveling or prep work. Communication usually goes through Home Depot first, and follow-up calls after the crew leaves can take days. Service stays inside the Carrollton area and nearby spots where Home Depot sends them, with crews working regular weekday hours and the occasional Saturday when the schedule opens up.
Google shows a 3 from 231 reviews, with praise for careful crews on some jobs and repeated complaints about no-shows, damaged baseboards or walls, poor seams and slow responses when fixes are needed. DIRT Score 2.7 from reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Happy customer review of our flooring project thru Home Depot & Cooper Installation. We had vinyl sheet flooring installed in our kitchen, which is the first step of our overall renovation. Leonel Rivera and his helper Randall, were very courteous, professional, and explained everything they would be doing. They did a wonderful job, were very meticulous, and cleaned up after each completed step. The quality of overall workmanship was greatly appreciated. I cannot express our joy to see the results! Big thumbs up to all involved, the CoS dept of HD, Cooper Installation, and of course - Leonel & Randall.”
“Not sure why there’s so many bad reviews, but our experience with Cooper Installation wasn’t anything close to the previously mentioned issues. We scheduled our flooring installation through Home Depot and Cooper sent out two guys. The guys did a great job ripping out all our carpet and replacing them with the Lifeproof vinyl floors. They were very professional, kept us updated throughout the process, careful around our furniture/walls/decor, and cleaned up after themselves. For roughly 1000 sq ft, it took them around 1.5 days.”
“The installation was terrible. I took a vacation day from work so we could have it installed. The installers showed up, one of them started ripping out the old carpet and the other guy left multiple times, coming back with nothing (very odd). They never did a walk through after the install. Came in and said they were done have a great day and were gone. We did have all the furniture moved for them and told them we would put everything back. After they left, we were putting everything back when we noticed the issues, we took pictures and contacted home dept because we had no contact info of the installers or the company they worked with. Home Depot was amazing with support to help us get them back to fix the carpet. They just showed up without calling, they called after no one answered the door, because we were not home from work and had no idea, they were coming that day to fix the carpet. It was never power stretched so there were waves and lumps all over the place (could not get a picture of them to show up) when the installer came back, he said you don't always have to power stretch carpet, Home Depot told us that was a lie. None of the old tack strips were replaced and Home Dep”
“We booked through Home Depot and they did a phenomenal job!! Showed up at 9:20 & left at 11:30. They did 3 bedrooms and a hallway closet. They were all very kind and wore shoe covers on top of laying mats down since we try to keep no shoes in the house. Our master has a seam due to the size of our room, but you can’t find it. They were very careful around our wall decor and didn’t cause any damage to baseboards. And they cleaned up the mess after. Highly highly recommend!!!! we will be booking with them again for other areas of our home.”
“They installed carpet for us that we purchased through our local Home Depot. When Home Depot contacted me and told me Cooper installation would be installing the carpet I immediately went to Google to read the reviews, As apparently I had no choice in who Home Depot selected to install the carpet for us. Not going to lie I was a bit skeptical upon reading all the negative reviews. However, The two young men came and did a wonderful job installing carpet. They confirmed the product was the correct one we picked out and purchased before even unloading it. They walked through with me when they were finished, and I thoroughly inspected everything after reading the reviews and seeing photos from previous jobs. They were kind to answer any questions I had but mostly just kept to themselves while I occupied the children in the other room. All I had to do when they left was sweep up a little bit of carpet fuzzies. Overall great experience and I will be glad to use them again in the future!”
“I gave 1 Star because you can't leave a zero they never showed up they only called to see if I could rearrange my schedule now my job was a little job so they had a big job they just didn't show up no calls just wasted my day that we had rearranged everything for that day. Doctor appointments everything it was for my mom for a mother's day gift they are 87 and 88 so I finally said screw it I'll do it myself I already had it ready I removed the old flooring and the toilet all they had to do is come and and throw it in. That's it's I would never use them and tell people not to use them for residential or commercial i will be posting on Facebook lol I have 1500+ friends and 500 hundred followers for interesting post I make”
“had a very disappointing experience with Cooper Installation. During the job, they broke my TV, and despite multiple calls and texts with Gabbi, nothing has been done to make it right. They also left excess carpet dumped in front of my house, which is completely unprofessional. I’ve followed up several times, and I’ve been patient and reasonable, but it’s now clear they have no intention of fixing the damage or even offering a solution. If this isn’t resolved soon, I will be filing a formal complaint with the Better Business Bureau. Extremely frustrating and unacceptable customer service. I would not recommend this company based on how they’ve handled this situation.”
“Hired Home Depot for carpet install with removal then installation of baseboards 3/8 above the ground versus flush to the floor. Baseboard removal was done poorly resulting in grooves wall and even damage to drywall. Baseboards weren’t installed to the correct height and have some obvious issues with installation. Had they been installed correctly any paint issue would have been covered. I have tried to talk to a manager for a week with 0 response. I wont be using Cooper Flooring or Home Depot for future flooring needs. This was a trial run small room simple project I’ll be doing my entire upstairs flooring with someone else. Don’t recommend a flooring company that doesn’t know what height baseboard should be installed at and installs baseboards misaligned.”
“We purchased carpet from Home Depot and this company installed it a few days ago. It was only for one simple room with no furniture to move and no weird angles or anything. I know it's a physical job but every few inches around the entire room had scrapes, chips, and GLUE all over the trim/baseboards. The company offers a $25 Home Depot card to cover the damages. That's pretty insulting... that no where near covers the cost and time to sand and repaint every baseboard again (room was completely repainted two weeks before so that we didn't have to paint right above brand new carpet).”
“I have not even been serviced by this company and they completely are dropping the ball! I strongly do not recommend this company! I DO NOT UNDERSTAND AT ALL HOW HOMEDEPOT DECISION TO AFFILIATE WITH THIS COMPANY! I have been called not once, not twice, but three times already with not being able to schedule me and then they call me with the wrong name and wrong address! My review will not change till they come out here and do the job! Additionally I’m terrified of them even stepping into my house and messing furniture or anything up they have so many bad reviews! What the hell is HomeDepot doing with this company makes no sense whatsoever!”
“We paid Home Depot to install ceramic tile flooring all throughout our downstairs, after several months of waiting they finally came out and said we needed to pay an additional $1076 to level the floor which we paid. While the installers were installing the trim we noticed holes all in the grout which they “patched”. A few days down the road after they left we begin noticing more holes so I attempt to patch them and rather quickly notice that the grout is soft like sand, everywhere and not just contained to one area. There are about 14 tiles with lips that stick up far enough you can stub your toe on them. So I called Stephany Denton who came out and looked. She told me and I quote “normally I try to dispute these claims but I will do whatever you want, replace the tile with a step up or whatever to make you happy”. So, during her visit I explain that we should be good just replacing the grout and the several defective tiles and tiles with a lip however she wanted me to count how many there were after she left, so I began doing a full inspection which is when I noticed that the entire floor is extremely un level from tiles being raised and lowered from the tiles next to them”
“First off the employees were super kind and they were responsive to all of our issues. But the quality of work is just proving to be subpar. We had our carpet installed last March 2020. Immediately we noticed both seams showing. Due to COVID they weren't able to send out an inspector until June 2020. They came and verified the seams indeed were done improperly and sent someone out to repair it. When they guys came to repair it they did not feel like they could repair it properly because it there was not enough material to recut and fix the seam properly. SO they came out in July and completely reinstalled with new carpet. After they left it looked pretty good. No seams showing... and just one spot remains at the end of the hall that the carpet doesn't go all the way to the wall. Six months later I started noticing at the transition to the next room the carpet padding didn't go all the way to the edge so the carpet was dipped down. (pic attached). We did call them and they did come and repair it and it looks 85% better. BUT it has now been only a year with this carpet and I'm already seeing seams starting to show again. And there is a weird line the opposite d”
“I don't believe in writing reviews that are misleading and untrue, people rely on others and their experience to help make a good decision. I can only tell you my experience with the staff from Cooper Installation Services who put down our flooring. They came in with a MISSION! Worked swiftly, neat and made no mess,, Polite and provided exceptional Customer Service. Their attitude was one that every customer should experience, however as a customer we also have a responsibility to be a good customer! Many Thanks Cooper Installation Service!”
“Cooper installation services came to install carpet in our house. They were sent by the home installation services at home depot. After they finished the work and left, the walls closet, and other items in the whole house had gotten dirty. They didn't cover the up vents, walls or floor. When I asked them about it, they said yes you should expect the house to be get dirty after the work is done. I had to pay 2X the amount I paid for the carpet installation to a cleaner to get the house cleaned. I would avoid this company. They have a very low google review rating for a reason.”
“The people who work there are were all very unprofessional. From the installers to the administrative people who coordinate the services, everyone had very poor customer service and no one took accountability for anything. Flooring was installed extremely poorly and when asked about how to resolve the problem, they would not get back to me and told me that I needed to take it up with Home Depot. When Home Depot was notified, they also told me that it was between me and Cooper Flooring. Home Depot took my money and all of sudden was unaccountable to the poor quality of work that they contracted out to terrible company to accomplish. Do not allow Cooper Flooring to take on your flooring needs as they would not get back to me and kept rescheduling my services to repair their work.”
“Complete disappointment from start to finish. The most frustrating part of this experience is that although Home Depot hires this company, I ended up doing all the follow-up, coordination, and clarification on work that should have been managed by the installers themselves. I oversee 4–5 flooring replacements every month, and I have never encountered this level of disorganization. This company consistently added unnecessary work to my plate—work that any motivated vendor would gladly handle. Instead, I was met with excuses at every step. The communication from both the installer and Home Depot was astonishingly poor, leaving me as the point person for problems I did not create. They quoted the project without even seeing it, and when they arrived, they immediately increased the price. A job that should have been straightforward ended up costing an additional $12,000, simply because of their lack of preparation, professionalism, and accuracy. The level of unprofessionalism displayed throughout this entire process was unacceptable. After this experience, I will never again use Home Depot or this contractor for flooring installations. Anyone considering them should be fully aware o”
“Home Depot uses them if you get flooring from them. I would ask if it is at all possible to go with a different flooring company. Rep told me they didn’t work on Saturdays, so I told her we’d have to cancel, then all of a sudden Saturday opened up. They will nickel and dime you which is odd since they are already priced on the higher end for an installation. Was charged extra for floor preparation (even though receipt shows that’s an included service). Thus far I am disappointed but may change to two stars if floor installation is perfect.”
“They called the morning of and we're on time. Carlos and his coworker were polite, professional and super efficient. They cleaned everything up throughout the carpet removal and reinstall. Thank you for the pleasent experience in our new home.”
“I don’t even know where to begin. The way this entire project was an epic fail. DO NOT use this company for your flooring needs. They were assigned to me by the Home Depot in Frisco off of Eldorado (whole other story) which should have been seamless. The unprofessionalism from Cooper Flooring and the HD regarding my concerns had me so dissatisfied with both companies. Without going into too much detail, they did a sloppy job! I will post pictures. They damaged mostly all the crown molding in every room, broke my mirror, left nails sticking out of the quarter rounds, all the cuts were so uneven and patched together, I mean the list goes on. The guy tried to hide the damage with caulk like I’m booboo the fool. Then they tried sending him back to allegedly fix the nails sticking out and other issues. He went in one room, slopped it up again and I started ignoring their calls because at this point they are not stepping foot back into my home. Told him thank you and have a nice day! Just get out at this point. My home is in pristine condition and now it’s all busted up. Not to mention the two guys who completed the job spoke very little English so my concerns couldn’t even be validat”
“Cooper Installation Services did a ceramic tile installation project at my home, and the quality of the work was outstanding. I was very satisfied with the project. Sead, the installer, was meticulous and detailed in his work. I could tell he took great pride in his craftsmanship and wanted to deliver the highest quality installation. I highly recommend Cooper Installation Services and would definitely use them again.”
