About
Ironwood Connection operates as a stair and railing contractor out of Carrollton, Texas. The business focuses on staircase remodeling, custom stairs, and custom iron fabrication for homes across the Dallas Fort Worth region. Reviewers describe purchases of materials such as red oak railings along with installations that convert closed drywall stair designs into open models. Staff members named in feedback include Sandra for project coordination, Ignacio for hands-on work, Hector for oversight, and Andy for pricing discussions.
Homeowners mention specific jobs like red oak staircase installs that later developed squeaks requiring repeated warranty visits and eventual tread removal by a subcontractor. Other projects involve sourcing cable railing components, epoxy adhesive, and wood handrails where stock levels sometimes fell short during visits. Some accounts note changes made late in a railing job or the use of finish nails during repairs on sub-treads. Positive notes cover open staircase renovations that improved home layouts and material pickups that completed modern railing setups.
Service details from feedback point to same-day or quick responses on quotes and orders, with project managers handling questions before, during, and after work. Pricing drew mixed comments, including cases where one buyer paid higher amounts for identical red oak items than another. The company maintains a showroom at the Valwood Parkway address and fields calls for both retail material sales and full installs, though some visits found limited stock or early closures. Reviewers also reference dust control during demo, drop cloth use, and accommodation of minor design adjustments near job completion.
Google lists a 3.9 rating. Feedback themes include craftsmanship on railings and stairs alongside recurring notes on communication gaps, stock accuracy, and follow-through on fixes.

What Customers Say
“I hired this company to install a red oak staircase in my custom home. Shortly after installation, the stairs developed persistent squeaks. The company returned multiple times under warranty to repair the problem, but the squeaks continued. During one of the repair visits, I personally observed finish nails being driven into the treads as part of the repair process. Despite these repeated repair attempts, the company's own subcontractor ultimately had to remove the stair treads because the squeaks could not be permanently resolved. After the treads were removed, I documented the condition of the plywood sub-treads, including the adhesive application and evidence of the previous repair attempts. The failed installation and unsuccessful warranty repairs resulted in additional time, expense, and delays to my project. This review is based solely on my personal experience. I recommend that anyone considering this company discuss their installation methods, fastening techniques, and warranty repair procedures in detail before signing a contract.”
“Make sure you guys check your quotes, I ordered material from Laura and she was charging me $200 each for a red oak railing. I sent someone else in to get the same one and they were $95 each on his receipt. I considered that as extortion on her end . I also came to the facility to purchase material paid and left she never once told me there wasn’t any in stock ! Send my guys out from a 48 min drive to pick up my material after she had already told me it was available my guys arrived for her to tell them there wasn’t nothing in stock due to someone coming a day before to purchase all white oak square railing . I called her she answer and told me she was going to call me back never did and later to text me they had found just one I just had to cancel my order . Very frustrating and unprofessional on her end . Poor communication aswell poor customer service”
“We recently got our staircase renovated from a closed drywall design to an open staircase model, and we couldn’t be happier with the results. Ironwood did an excellent job from start to finish — the craftsmanship, attention to detail, and overall finish exceeded our expectations. A special shoutout to Sandra, who was absolutely amazing throughout the process. She patiently explained all the options, helped get everything organized, and made sure execution went smoothly. Her communication and professionalism made the entire experience stress-free. Highly recommend Ironwood to anyone looking for quality renovation work and a team that truly cares about customer satisfaction!”
“Very knowledgeable staff. Quick service and great prices. I purchased materials to make my cable railing. They were able to pick everything I needed”
“Used them for staircase and railings on our new home. Andy was extremely responsive, quick to provide pricing and clarity on service expectations. They were very efficient, excellent craftsmanship and even accommodated a slight change after the work was nearly complete. I wish every subcontractor on our build met the same standard.”
“I had been buying from them for a few months and had always had an excellent service until today that a different sales rep took my order for four epoxy adhesive and I had forgotten to order another item and that’s where everything went south the lady Sandra Cisneros flipped on me and started screaming at me at first I taught she was playing around but when I asked her if she was serious she said yes that’s when I told her if it was too much work to order more material to not bother I could get it another time or somewhere else and she told me to leave . Very bad experience and poor customer service from her , the warehouse guy did apologize and was very nice .”
“Communication is the KEY ! It has been an Excellent Experience from the beginning to the end of the project. Ignacio does exceptional work!! Hector oversaw the project, did well to inspect and ask if we had any questions or concerns. Sandra was our project manager, should you have any questions or concerns prior, through and after the project -she will handle it. It was a smooth process !! Iron Wood Connection is Definitely a Dallas 5 -Star plus ++”
“They did a very sloppy install and when asked to fix, they just offer a series of poor excuses... Don't trust your home to a company that takes no pride in the finished product. To make it worse, after initially agreeing to partially fix the sloppy work (what was possible without starting over anyway) they didn't even show up.”
“Great company! From estimate to install, Ironwood took great care of our project. The installers created very little dust as they taped off the area thoroughly, and the final project transforms the entrance area of our home.”
“Initially this company was great. Gerald(the sales guy and previous owner) was very experienced and knowledgeable. They were able to get us set up for our remodel within a week. We were SO excited! Fast forward to the day of...the workers are suppose to be there at 9am and they didn't show up until 11:15am and didn't get started until 11:30. Soon they started the demo but neglected to put down any drop cloths. So, my brand new carpet was dumped with drywall, drywall dust and bits of wood...and I mean A LOT. Midway through the day the lead guy(and the ONLY one that spoke English) left...and was gone for 3.5 hrs. He later showed up with his girl friend/wife. When they were finally done we looked over the project. There was black glue flowing out of the area where the wrought iron spindles went into the handrail. When we asked them(very kindly) if they could clean it up, they said that they weren't going to but we could pick it off when it dried if we wanted. Nice. The work crew also didn't bring ANYTHING to clean up the huge mess they made. Not a mop(to clean my tile that was CAKED with wet drywall dust) or even a vacuum cleaner! What professional remodeling crew doesn't bring any”
“I was introduced to Ironwood by my Trim Carpenter to find missing items to complete the Modern Stair Railing, I called a lot of companies for the squared handrail (2) 16ft and a 4X4 Newel post everyone I called said they did not stock those items. What pleasant experience for the dock workers to the Sales Rep Sandra C. GREAT JOB EVERYONE!!!!!! HYBRID CUSTOM HOMES 12/22”
“I couldn't be happier with this company. My family was having our house remodled and they did a wonderful job with our stairways. Their product is affordable but of great quality and the customer service is polite, really second to none.”
“Denied our request for custom railing: Called today to have an additional Star Rail fabricated for our children. This company actually built our original stair railing and balusters for our custom home. They actually denied the work and demanded a minimum of $3,000. I am a previous customer that has spent over $$10,000 to 12,000 on custom Stairs.”
“We were wanting a couple of sets of stairs but only a few steps on each. Ironwood connection was able to work with us on what we wanted and in a professional way. The prices were very reasonable, so overall I am very impressed!”
“Low stock at the show room. Store was close before the closing time. I had to call to ask them to open for me.”
“As a homebuilder I enjoyed their showroom & the attention they showed us!”
“They customize all my needs to exactly the way I wanted it to be. There customer service is so amazing.”
“Very responsive, flexible and helped me with my design.”
