Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions

Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions handles concrete work from its base in San Marcos, Texas. Octavio Blanco runs the operation and focuses on overlays for pool decks, walkways, driveways, patios, porches, walls, and fireplaces. The crew applies designs in multiple colors and textures that customers select to match homes or businesses. They also handle new concrete pours followed by overlays and resealing of existing surfaces.

Customers describe jobs that start with pool deck overlays or patio resurfacing and sometimes expand to full outdoor areas including front porches and entryways. Octavio and crew members such as Jose and Javier have completed work that covers hairline cracks, produces flagstone-style patterns, and finishes in two days on some projects. A few reports note large cracks appearing years later on patios or pool decks that stayed hot in summer heat. Other jobs involved fixing gaps near foundations or redoing sections after initial application problems.

The crew responds to calls and texts on some projects, arrives on time, finishes ahead of schedule, and leaves sites clean. Pricing comes in lower than competing bids on multiple jobs. Service reaches San Marcos, New Braunfels, Kyle, and Austin. Communication varies, with some customers waiting days or weeks for quotes or callbacks while others receive prompt updates during the work.

Reviews total more than twenty entries with recurring notes on overlay appearance, crew effort, and follow-up after completion. Positive accounts highlight clean results and value while negative ones mention unaddressed cracks and unanswered requests for repairs.

“We have Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions do our overlay around our new pool because they had done the concrete. Mr. Blanco encouraged us to have the overlay applied. He not only did the area around the pool, but the talked us into the complete patio. Then he also did out front porch. We ended up spending 11K on the project. We had to call him back a couple of time at the beginning and he had someone come fix the issues. No that we are 4 years down the road, we have called him back for some large cracks. He gave us a 5 year warranty and will not take our calls or come and take care of the issues. He will not even answer our calls anymore.”

“I wish I had never responded to an ad to apply concrete to my stone pool deck. Their own website claims to keep a cool surface - even in the Summer. Well it doesn't and the company agreed that they made my pool deck dangerous to the touch so their counsel instructed them to redo most of the project because they were confident they would lose in court. Before they started removal and reinstall I suggested they do a heat-test spot to ensure the same outcome doesn't occur again. They did not listen and I have the same dangerous pool area. Anyone standing barefoot in the Summer in the same spot for over 5 seconds would require hospitalization. With no real solutions given to me, I purchased large umbrellas to keep guests/pets safe and told the company I would not file a lawsuit if they honored their 7-year warranty to fix many cracks/holes, drainage issues and concrete caked on tiles. They have ignored my latest email communications so I will be filing suit in the next couple weeks. I don't need the $ I will ultimately be awarded, I just don't want this to continue to happen to others who don't have the resources to fight.”

“Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions did an outstanding job on my front porch and resealing my back patio. They were very detailed in completing all the work required to resurface the front porch. From getting the bid and completing the work they were there to please the customer. The whole family was involved. I was very pleased with the finished product. No questions were left unanswered. If you are looking for some one to update a concrete patio etc. I give Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions my highest recommendation!!”

“These guys did an absolute phenomenal job on our back patio and installing concrete. We hired them to pour concrete and do an overlay afterwards. They were the most reasonable priced out of the three quotes and were the most responsive. Octavio stands behind his work and his craftsmanship. We installed our overlay right before "Snovid" so we had some minor cracks, but luckily it was easily fixed.”

“Ocatavio and his team did an excellent job. Concrete overlay with beautiful design. Very happy with results. We are repeat customers as we had used them a few years ago and did additional work this time. Great quality and good price. Highly recommended.”

“Texas Concrete & Overlay did a job for me a few years ago and my wife and I were very pleased with the job they did and my wife loved the color selections. I called them back this year because the coating was cracking at the end of the patio slab next to the housing foundation. My thought was well, this should be covered under their warranty. They came out and removed the cracked over lament and revealed that there was a one inch gap between the house foundation and the patio slab. I guess with the dry weather, and despite my constant watering of the foundations, the earth shifted and caused this problem. Well let me tell these guys went to work and not only filled the gap but put a new lime coat coating over the damaged area. They did such a great job, I took their recommendation to reseal the whole patio since it is recommend every couple of years. Pedro and his helper did an outstanding job. Did I tell you they did this in February where the temperature was 33 degrees? And the follow-up by Briana was and added touch. She wanted to make sure that I was satisfied. You can’t beat this company for providing top notch service and quality work.”

“Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions was contacted by us in 2024 and again in 2026 for quotes on a home project. We received a quote in 2024 but ask them to come back out for an estimate in 2026 after the scope of the job had changed. They came out, we discussed the project, they took pictures, and we were told to expect a quote within a few days. Since then, we have contacted the company through text, messenger, and by phone. Absolutely NO RESPONSE from them. If you don’t want to accept the job then at least have the courtesy to get back with the customer and tell them so. Seems like company that ghosts during the estimate process is surely not a company that would be good to go into a business contract with. Consumer beware of a company that ignores repeated attempts at contact from a potential customer.”

“Everything about the services Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions performed exceeded my expectations. The bid was low, they arrived on time, finished early, left the place clean and the outcome was better than we expected. Our pool and deck now look like its been overlaid with flagstone, but for a fraction of the cost and in only 2 days time. I highly recommend this company. 5 stars and 4 thumbs up.”

“I was very pleased with the wonderful work and the beautiful design. I had several hair line cracks on my carport. The design covered them up. And my front porch was bare concrete. The design made it a lot more appealing.”

“Octavio & team did a fantastic job on our porch and patio concrete overlay. They were very courteous and checked in from time to time to make sure they were delivering what we were expecting. We are so happy with the results and I would use them again and recommend them for any service they provide.”

“We are very happy with the epoxy overlay design that Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions created for our back patio and front entryway. .Octavio and his team were wonderful to work with -- very professional, and responsive. They delivered a beautiful floor design for us. We highly recommend this company!”

“Excuse my mess as I’m still devoting my fresh patio! What a fine group of people. The integrity and workmanship of this organization is beyond standards. If you are looking for a concrete company in new braunfels, San Marcos, Kyle, Austin, etc call these guys! If you need a design that’s better than stamped concrete, call overlay solutions. They use a special limestone and quartz base that matches a 5000 psi strength. The designs can be made to look like stone or a clean modern look. I plan to pursues more concrete and overlay designs because I fell in love with this product.”

“We had multiple problems with our concrete pool deck and Texas Overlay Concrete Solutions was hired to do the repairs. The results were beyond our expectations and absolutely beautiful. Octavio, Jose and the rest of the crew worked hard and efficiently knocked out all of the work in just a few days. They cleaned up after themselves and made sure to keep our pool as clean as possible. Even though our pool company was responsible for hiring someone for the repairs, we will absolutely be calling Octavio's crew for future projects (fire pit, pergola, front porch work-- they do it all)! Thank you so much, Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions!!! Our pretty pool is no longer surrounded by an eye sore of a cracked up, uneven concrete slab! These men have incredible talent and skill; if you pass them up for a job, you're missing out!”

“A very big thank you to Texas Concrete Overlays Solution. I Have already Recommend them to friends and family. They are thorough and thoughtful operators and I like their style and not to mention they are extremely hard workers. They stay hours past the time they were indicated to ,and they came super early just to beat their Deadline on time. Thank you guys for an amazing experience. You all are amazing!! I would Definitely call them 1st if you ever need anything done on your home. As they would say "we design your dreams" they Definitely did not lie on that one. My family and I were more than highly Satisfied with our project being done by Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions. I was more than happy with the finishing look , it Definitely made a huge Difference. Once Again a Big thank you to them, for designing to our liking. Octavio is an Exceptional contractor. I highly recommend him and his company , you wont regret it.”

“Their workmanship and the young men who came out did a very good job at a very good price. With that said, the owners would not follow up with a needed repair from the workmanship. It was so disappointing. My other issue was that the install team did not seem to have supplies that were needed and used our wheelbarrow and buckets and left them with a lot of cement residue and without our permission. Lastly, although they covered our pool, our entire pool was full of cement and a powered residue. They said they were sending out a company to fix this but did not. They boys attempted to help but we had to have our pool company come and take care of it. This summer it will be a year that the install happened and I can already see that we need repairs. Although they guarantee their work, you can’t get them to come out and fix it, return a call or have a professional conversation about what needs to happen…..Or at least that was my experience. I was going to have them resurface our pool and do our front walk, they lost that business because of a simple thing like follow up.”

“Octavio Blanco's team did a great job with my patio flooring. I am very pleased with the work they have done. Octavio was always responsive and very courteous over the phone. I am a very happy customer. I definitely will be recommending Texas Concrete Overlay Solutions. Thank you guys!!”

“Texas Concrete is so easy to work with. The employees were always so polite and wanted to please us with their work. When finished with the job, we were entirely satisfied and the results were just beautiful. We would always recommend this company. Thanks for the good work.”

“I had them put a top coat on my outdoor kitchen counter top. I can't say it looks professional as it is kind of raggiddy. But that's not the main issue. When putting the coat on they spread the coating all over and just poured it over the sides and onto the patio, then washed it off with a hose. It wasn't till they left and it dried that it was noticeable that the patio was covered in a white film from compound drying. Tried washing it off several times and still no difference. A second problem occurred 2 days later when a chunk of the counter top that they had installed peeled off. I called Octavio that day and he said he would stop by tomorrow. Tomorrow came and Octavio never showed. I called him back and promised he would be there later that day. Again he never showed. Now for over a week I been trying to reach him and the company phone but no one will answer or even return messages I have left. Apparently sees my number and doesn't answer. WHAT A WAY TO RUN A BUSSINESS!!!”

“Working with contractors can be scary, but working with Octavio and Javier was nice. They were both responsive with answers to questions and made the whole process easy. The backyard patio turned out beautifully. I couldn't be happier with the job.”

“Contacted the guy who owns the business about a project for one of my clients, really simple easy job that he agreed he could and would do. The guy did not show up for our meeting to go over the project, did not respond to texts or calls for 2 days, then finally texted back and made an excuse that he could not reply because he had to get his wisdom tooth removed. I decided to give him another shot anyway, met up with him, went over the job, he agreed to do it an informed me he’d be giving me a bid within the same day, have not heard from him for a week. Absolutely zero response to calls or texts. I do not recommend this guy if you’re looking to sub him out, i’ve seen some of his work and it’s beautiful but he has absolutely zero communication skills, you would expect more from a guy that’s apparently been in the business for 14 years.”
