“I thought all I needed was a new belt. After a very professional inspection it was revealed that much more was needed. I could have purchased a belt though Amazon and replaced it myself. If I was successful it may have worked a few more months if I was able to get it all set correctly. However after digging deeper into why the new belt was needed more problems with the garage door opener became apparent. The technician that was sent had good work ethic and was knowledgeable about what he was installing. When it came to sinking the new opener to my trucks homelink no luck getting it connected. And the existing key pad that I had from the same manufacturer as the door opener not able to get it connected either. After re-reading my owners manual and playing with utube instructions I was able the get button in the truck working. The key pad was way easier. I was able to get help from customer support at Chamberlain super easy and quick. As usual I wait to post reviews it has been a week since installing the new opener. The other day it opened and wouldn’t close. Upon inspecting it I noticed the connection to the belt and the door was hanging loose. One of the bolts had come out and fal”

“Had a tech out for a tune up via a coupon mailer. 4 garage doors. One opener was not working. Asked the tech to take a look. This was in my request when I made the appointment online. Without looking at the opener, no ladder, not a function check, he told me it couldn't be repaired and it was cheaper to replace it. At th end, he never quoted the actual replacement which I found odd. Tech goes on to the tune up of all 4 doors. I can't speak to what a tune up includes but he did use a scale, lubed the tracks and generally looked at each door. Service took an hour. I didn't follow him as we had other work going on at the same time. At the end. . . The sales pitch. All four doors per the tech "need replacement springs". For a tech that didn't bother looking at my garage door opener, he suddenly needs to sell us springs at $1250 per door for the basic springs or $1500 for the upgraded springs. Obviously declined this "service". Looked at my own garage door opener. The plastic cable/chain pulley had broken. $8 part and a single bolt. Took 5 minutes. One of the other door openers had seemed to surge when you operated the opener. After my tune up, I assumed this would be adjusted. It ”

He worked his butt off checking the system and immediately found they problem. He gave me the quote of the repairs, which is 90 percent cheaper of what ive been quoted by other companies. He waved the show up and showed me everything that was the issue. I approved the cost and he started the repairs, talking to me like we had been friends for years. He did what he had to do to get my system operating properly. . He checked everything, adjusting what was needed considering it's only 2 years old. May 26 update: "J" did a great job installing the doors. He was given the incorrect spring set for the doors and quickly got the situation resolved. Finished up, cleaned up and had doors working better than I had ever seen. Great work. If I had more garage doors, I'd be sure to use Door Doctor again.”
