About

Overhead Door Company of Odessa handles garage door work in Odessa, Texas. The company sells, installs, and services both commercial and residential garage doors along with openers. Their listed address sits at 2315 Field St, and they operate under the broader Permian Basin name with contact lines for the Odessa area.

Customers have called them for fixes on multiple storage unit doors that needed quick attention after a website request. Others needed bottom seals replaced after a universal kit failed, springs swapped when one broke and damaged an opener, or openers installed as part of a package. Technicians such as Sam, Drew, Colton, Mark, Robert, Branden, Alex, Mike, Brandon, and Dan JR. handled these jobs, with some arriving the same afternoon or within ten minutes during bad weather to get doors working again.

Work often covers Odessa and nearby spots like Andrews and Alpine, though travel charges reached three hundred dollars on some out-of-town stops. Reviewers noted same-day arrivals in certain cases but also long waits for callbacks, unannounced visits, and extra fees added at payment time. Service sometimes stretched across multiple days or weeks before a technician showed up, and communication about schedules or parts tracking drew repeated complaints.

Feedback splits between fast repairs that stood behind the work and issues with delays, missed appointments, and incomplete fixes that left doors unsafe. Google shows a 3.6 rating.

“OverHead Door Odessa, this is totally unacceptable. I called for a service appointment Monday, and got one scheduled for Friday 11/21/25, the day they come to Andrews. They couldn't give me a time, so I have been here ALL DAY waiting (had to cancel appointments to be here). At 2:30pm, I still hadn't heard anything, so I called. The guy that answered to phone checked for me and said yes, my service was still scheduled for today, that I was next, but that the technician was just running behind on a call. Cool. Right around 5 o'clock I called again, and of course it goes to the answering service. I asked the answering service to have someone call me today, and she said she would try to contact someone. I did get a call back and told the girl, who was from the Midland store the situation, and the name of the technician that I was told was doing my service call. She said she would try to get ahold of him and call me back. She did call back a few minutes later and told me that the technician, wasn't running behind on a service call as I was told, but was having car trouble...that he was still going to try to get to us today...otherwise it would be Monday before they could come o”

“Please, do yourselves a favor and do some research. We're all investing in our homes and it's not cheap. So, without saying names I'll start by saying(a technician from this co.) I was told to buy a motor for the overhead door on Amazon because yes, it was cheaper than buying it from this company. After several failed intents to get in touch with this person, I called the company and called for a quote, made an appointment and for sure I thought they were going to send an experienced technician. The appointment was for 10:00 am, the technician called me at 8:30, he was at my house and I was grocery shopping. I came back home 9:35 he was there waiting. So time was running $$ 😒 they charge by the hour. The technician worked on the motor, at the beginning he had said it was only going to take around two hours, he ran into some issues and was calling his supervisor several times, he also called the number on the manual because he was having trouble connecting the remote controls. It took him four hours and I guess he forgot to put grease on the chain that's in the motor, my husband had to do that And fix the door because somehow there was a gap from the door to the ground. Honestly, we”

“These guys are Aces! Drew and the team of field technicians are excellent, professional, courteous and the most respectful team of experts I’ve dealt with in a long time. Id recommend this team anytime without hesitation! FYI, I went with the insulated garage doors and those new super quiet electric garage door openers, best investment ever!”

“If ur looking for workers who are rude and disrespectful some place to not fix what u call about over tighten stuff and leave other stuff not tighten at all and ur door falling off the rails not considered emergency this is the place for you please call overhead door for all ur needs.”

Amanda Graham

“These folks were professional, knew exactly what I needed, and were polite in attending to my needs. Although it seems like they're the only game in town when it comes to selling parts only (and not the service itself) for overhead doors, they treated me as though they genuinely appreciated my little dab of business. All in all, an excellent experience. Thanks, Colton and gang!”

Ruben Olivas

“Disappointing experience. After waiting months for the install, the install wasn't done correctly. A technician came out to see the problem and agreed the install wasn't done right. The problem is that the track was secured to a support beam that was never secured. Securing the beam was in your bid and in our agreement. The door is now barely hanging on the headrail and this is clearly a safety violation. I've called in several times asking for "emergency" repair of a door you installed and can't get anyone to show up. I've asked to speak to a manager who is never available and have asked for the manager to return my calls. Nothing.”

“Had a garage door bottom seal in need of replacement. I went and got a "universal" kit, did not work. After searching for the right one, I called Overhead Door , they came and made the door right with a new seal. Great service and the workers were polite, quick and stood behind their work. A shout out to Mark and Robert for taking the extra time to make the job successful.”

Robert Brightman

“Had an emergency and they came out within 10 min in the snow storm we just had. Technician got the door open so i could get the trailer out. Very professional company.”

“They lack communication skills. I called them a week ago for them to come out and fix our companies bay door. They told me it would be 1-2 days. I called them after 3 days of not having anyone show up. Then they said it would be another day. Again, no one shows up. I call AGAIN and now they’re saying at the end of the week. I understand being understaffed and not having someone able to come out asap but it would be nice to have someone call back and let us know what is going on.”

“We live in Alpine and we’re squeezed in on one of their trips where they stop at multiple houses in town at once. Showed up unannounced first of all but we didn’t want to miss them. They fixed the doors fine enough, but the “travel fee” was a surprising $300! If you’re charging every house you stop at in alpine $300 for travel, that is taking advantage of a town that doesn’t have other options for garage door fixing/installation. No heads up for arrival day or time and a “by the way our travel fee is $300” would have been good to know min advance.”

“The only reason I didn’t shop around is bc my mother had been using them for years to fix her old garage door and vouched for them so with that I had a new door and motor package installed for her 3 weeks ago. It was a reasonable price for the material and labor. The guys were nice and got the work done in a timely manner. The guide rails didn't and still don’t look right to me but the door works correctly. So far so good but I do have a warranty with said package so if anything goes wrong at least we can always have them come back out to fix it. It was rather difficult to get ahold of the guy that gave me a quote for the work so I called the office to schedule the job and after making payment they got to it and showed up when I was told the workers would be on site. All in all a good job and even better the office has worked with me to get things moving and now I’m enjoying a garage door that works and matches the house. I’m a hard person to please however I am happy camper and I would say they earned my recommendation. Just make sure you have plenty of coffee and WD40 lol.”

“Received quote and gave all my info to them. Still haven't received a call back to see if or when they will schedule my replacement opener. Never got scheduled but the man just showed up to install the following Monday.. luckily I was home. I am happy with the opener and he had it installed in an hour and a half. However, they decided to charge me an extra 3% for pulling out my debit card when it was time to pay, which I felt was very underhanded of them. They mentioned nothing about that until it was time to pay.”

“First called to get a replacement wind rated shop door 2 years ago. Routinely don't get a call back, finally got determined a few months ago. Wrong door came in in June, now Aug they finally say they have the right door, but I figure maybe by Thanksgiving we'll get an installation date. They're nice over the phone, they just don't have info on where the door is in manufacturing, don't have tracking on shipping, don't have installation schedule. Before Thanksgiving I'll just tear out the tracks and buy a whole door setup from someone else.”

“If you want your door fixed right the first time, call Overhead Door. I had one of the two springs on my door break and the door came down and ruined my opener. I called another place in town who came out and replaced the spring. I installed a new opener but it would not shut the door. I called Overhead Door and a guy named Sam came out to find that the other company had installed the WRONG spring. It turns out it matters a LOT which size spring goes on the door. Overhead Door replaced both the springs and got the door working perfectly. In fact, they put a set of springs on that "worked" but they weren't happy because it wasn't perfect. Sam actually went back to the shop and got a scale, weighed the door and measured the hubs to find the correct springs it needed. He didn't leave until the door was perfect and he had programmed my opener and remotes. I highly recommend Overhead Door!”

“I called yesterday about a broken garage door spring. Two gentlemen arrived this morning. Called a few minutes before arrival. They replaced the door spring, reconnected the opener, and lubed the door in about half an hour. Great job, great service, the charge was reasonable, and they were friendly. Can't ask for better than that.”

Dennis Turner

“Very irresponsible! Got a quote over the phone and they were supposed to go measure to install. 2 weeks have gone by and no one has gone over to measure, I have been calling the office and secretary keeps telling me he will return my call but yet to hear from them!”

David Leyva
