“Please beware of this business and its practices before hiring. TJ, Thomas Reilly it would seem by my interactions during this time, is not driven by high standards and a passion for excellence. Texas Best General Contracting does not strive to provide superb service to and quality to his clients. He was hired by my kids to do a remodel and an addition as well as (later, without a contract ) to construct a mother in law cottage for myself. The outcome was poor at best. He quit before completion in May 2022, despite the contract for the main house, after months of delays. His initial BID increased exponentially. The BID, separately given for the MIL cottage, we have now learned was fraudulent in that he had to have know it was far to little a price, it appears given with knowledge that he would have to increase the price. He stated he could get a better rate for the framing getting it through him 38,000 approx vs homedepot at 46,879.00. He did get a better rate, yet, charge a higher rate without the added service discussed, the ground work, septic. “It's been over a year since we contracted TJ and paid in full from the insurance settlement to repair/replace some of the roofing... we also paid in full for all new gutters. He has not yet finalized the roofing and we still do not have the new gutters we paid for. I have tried numerous times to contact them and keep getting the runaround and I think I have been more than patient (14 months!). Will be pursuing legal action if I do not get this resolved by the end of this month.”

“I was surprised with how beautiful my cabinets were, their new paint I like it a lot, I regularly hire subcontractors but I had a bad experience the last time they did the job quickly but after two months the drywall and ceramics of my showers are falling off, recommend this company took their time and I liked the results!!”

“EDIT to my review: the owners commented that I have never contacted their business which is true, but I did see the absolute disaster they left my friends home after they wrongfully terminated their contract. Which took them almost two years to recover from. My intentions for posting this review were to warn others of the destruction this company causes families, in hopes no one ever has to go through what they put them through. Their reviews of this company are also on here warning people of the same. Do NOT trust the good reviews. That is all!! If I could give no stars I would. I do NOT recommend using this company at ALL. My two best friends used Tj and his company to remodel their home and it was the absolute worst experience of their life. “I loved the color of my fence, Thomas's employee I think his name is Kevin, he was very professional, it took a while, but I was satisfied with the work!”

“BEWARE. BEWARE. BEWARE. HIRE AT YOUR OWN RISK. Unfortunately we hired TJ Reilly with Texas Best General Contracting in July 2021 to do a complete remodel and addition of our new home. This was a grave mistake. He claimed that the home would be done in 6 months and we entrusted him with the work while we were living out of state preparing to move. As we could not see the progress of the project with our own eyes, he claimed that work was done which was actually not so he could continue to make financial draws from our bid over and over again. He has stolen thousands from us. He continued to claim that he needed more money from us if we wanted the house done faster as he then could "hire more workers". A week after we finally said we aren't giving you more money, he quit. Leaving us and our home in a complete state of disaster. (See Celeste Taylor's review for photos). WE HAD TO BUY A COMPLETELY DIFFERENT HOME just to get out to TX to fix what he had started. Proceeding with the construction of our home, we had probably fifteen contractors bid the scope of work to complete/fix what he had done. None of them could believe the work that was done or that he was any sort of knowledgable ”

“TJ Reilly is a fraud and a liar. Despite email confirmations from the city, TJ continued to lead us believe he submitted everything for permit approval. He never received the required stamps from engineering, electrical, plumbing firms so the plans were NEVER going to get approved as he sent them in. When questioned, he continued to lie. We gave him money to start the project(shame on us) and then once we cancelled the project, no money was ever repaid back for services/materials/jobs/etc. that were never done. Despite literally hundreds of attempts on our part to contact him, he never responded. Just an outright disaster from start to finish. Stay away.”

“It is unfortunate that I have to write this review but TJ has left us no choice. We had our floor done by TJ's company in December of 2020. Less than a year later, the floor started going bad and we contacted him as it was unexpected. TJ was unresponsive to us. We called, we emailed and texted but barely had any feedback from him. When he finally decided to get back to us, his lackluster response had us reeling. He has done everything but try to resolve this issue for us. So now we have a badly done floor and an additional expense that we did not plan for. I regret that we contracted him to do our floor, he is as unprofessional as they get. Do not have this man do any work for you unless you want to see unsightly work that gives you a heartache each day. Employ TJ at your risk, don't say you were not warned.”

“If you were looking for the worst experience you could ever possibly imagine where he tells you he will be done in two weeks and four months later you’re still not complete useless contractor. If not please stay away. I have attached screenshots of text messages from this guy not responding to me he has now had the audacity after we have paid him $280,000 to cancel our contract and still try to bill us more when our house is nowhere near complete. Save yourself the headache he seems super nice and then even his workers will say he has no idea what’s going on with the project. I would give a negative number if I could I cannot say how much I hope that he does not do this to someone else. On top of that the review below has pictures of MY home!! “We hired TJ to install vinyl flooring. After eight months, the floor started buckling and peeling. Not only did he provide a faulty product, the installation was done improperly. The manufacturer blamed the contractor; the contractor blamed the manufacturer. I hope this review will help someone. We realize our only option is legal recourse to recoup our money.”

“Wow, just when I thought I was the only one, it seems TJ's unprofessionalism is common. Its been over a year and this nightmare of a transaction is still here. He refuses to come to see the lack of work his employees have yet completed and takes their word on completion to avoid any additional cost (even his employees complain of not receiving payments from him). I have missing floor, spacing flooring, missing caulking, and he claims the work is "done". To avoid any massive headache, I strongly encourage anyone to stay away from TJ and unprofessionalism.”

Finally, I decided to let them go and search for a new contractor and they are trying to charge me for unfinished work. Apparently these aren’t honest people. Proceeding to contact lawyers and reporting them to the Better Business Bureau.”
