I believe it will assist in your decision. The decision to replace a roof either comes as an urgent necessity resulting from minor leaks to major storm damage, or the nagging anxiety that you know the roof is old and something is bound to happen sooner or later. In a perfect world, your roof should be higher on the preventive maintenance schedule but is often deferred to a later time especially if there’s no immediate issues. A typical roof in Texas should be replaced every 15-20 years, so there’s plenty of time, right? Another mindset considers that preventative maintenance is an out-of-pocket expense whereas waiting until there’s a problem may result in insurance paying for the repairs. Trust me, although we pay a good amount of money for insurance “services”, we don’t realize until we need assistance that insurance companies are in the business of making money and those services can be subjective based on insurance business practices.
