About

JAG Enterprises-Handyman Services runs handyman work out of San Marcos, Texas. The outfit takes on projects such as building pump houses for wells, installing flashing on deck roofs, sealing gutter joints, fixing leaking windows in sheds, reattaching soffit under eaves, constructing small backyard decks, and repairing fences. Names that show up in the work include Jason and Jess, who handle the actual jobs on site.

Customers describe several specific projects and the results they got. One person had a new pump house built that held together fine, plus flashing and a gutter joint that stayed in place. The same customer needed a shed window fixed but found the repair looked poor and still let water through. Jess reattached soffit that came loose again almost right away. A backyard deck went in using concrete blocks the wrong way, which caused problems later. Another customer had Jason repair a fence, yet the gate was left without a secure latch so it swings open when the wind hits it.

Jobs often run into delays getting started beyond what was promised and leave loose ends that never get wrapped up. Old fence pieces got stacked in a yard and stayed there even after multiple requests for pickup. Follow-up on incomplete items like gate latches or loose materials did not happen despite calls. The pattern shows work that starts but then stalls on finishing steps and cleanup.

The record sits at a Google rating of 1 from 2 reviews. The same issues come up again across the feedback, with projects left half done and no return visits to correct them. DIRT Score 0 from 2 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

“I had the misfortune of engaging this company to do several jobs for me. The first one, building a new pump house for my well, went smoothly and appears to be a decent job. Also, the flashing on my deck roof and a joint of gutter are holding up. That is the last of the projects I'm happy with. A window in my storage shed was leaking and JAG made an attempt at repair. Not only does the repair look bad, it still leaks. I had Jess reattach some soffit under an eave and it started falling back down almost immediately. They built a small deck in my backyard using (actually misusing) concrete deck blocks. As common sense or instructions would tell anyone with half a brain, the deck blocks should be level before you start building. That's Foundations 101 material! Instead, Jess & Co threw the blocks on top of the ground and proceeded to assemble the frame and apply decking. This left the surface unlevel, and they decided leveling was best done with unsightly shims. This is simply substandard work. Despite my qualms about the work done, I paid for all these tasks. Jess assured me he would take care of things. While trying to get him to do that, I contracted for one final job which consi”

“Jason fixed our fence but didn't complete the job. It took longer to get the job started then what was promised. He left behind a huge stack of old fence in my yard. He said he would pick it up and after several times asking him to come pick it up, he never showed. Also the gate swings open in the wind. He didn't secure the the latch. I do not recommend this company.”
