About

Cocina Solutions Llc operates as an HVAC contractor based in Abilene, TX. They handle air conditioning and heating systems for local homes where summer heat puts heavy demands on cooling equipment. The company takes on repair calls, full unit replacements, and occasional related work like water heater changes when homeowners need them. Technicians respond to issues ranging from systems that fail to maintain temperatures during peak afternoon hours to complete breakdowns that require new installations. Work often involves both indoor checks and outdoor unit inspections to diagnose problems in the dry Texas conditions.

They send crews to address AC units that cannot keep up with cooling needs, perform replacements on older heating and cooling systems that have failed, and handle upgrades on water heaters as part of broader service visits. One job involved Jose arriving with his helper Mr. Luna to swap out and improve an existing water heater while keeping the process moving without unnecessary delays. Other calls have included quick filter and unit assessments for cooling complaints, though some required follow-up scheduling that stretched over multiple days or weeks. Homeowners have also dealt with warranty-driven replacements where initial inspections led to decisions for full system changes after the original equipment could no longer function reliably.

Customers point to solid work from technicians like Jose when the crew reaches the site and completes the task at hand, with comments on professional conduct and efficiency during the actual repair or replacement. Speed and communication draw mixed notes because some visits happen promptly while others involve postponed appointments or missed callbacks for maintenance. Quality holds up on the jobs finished without return issues, and price feedback stays neutral since the focus stays on getting the HVAC running again in Abilene homes. What Customers Say

Ac tech (I don't remember his name unfortunately) came out to fix our ac since it doesn't seem to be able to keep up cooling the house in the afternoon/ evening. I will say, he did seem nice, however, he checked our filter inside and looked at the unit outside (in and out within 10 mins) and decided that since our filter and unit outside was dirty, that was the problem (I admit we didn't think to look at those 2 since we just bought the house and figured the inspector would of looked at them and let us know in the report). The tech didn't even put any kind of gage on the unit to see if maybe it was low on coolant/freon (whatever it's called). Just decided that it had to be that, we paid him $75 (home warranty copay) to come out and not even replace a $5 filter or check beyond a dirty filer/unit. Now my home warranty company (Choice Home Warranty) won't send anyone else out until we, out of pocket, get someone out here to certify that the filter has been changed and unit cleaned. If you use this company just make sure the tech isn't doing the bare minimum, unfortunately I didn't know at the time since hubby, who knows more about this stuff, wasnt home yet.

DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY. We purchased 2 units, over $7000 worth, and they have not worked properly since being installed 3 years ago. We've had Jose out twice for repairs and each time he promises to schedule us for maintenance but we've never received a phone call, even after I tried to call and schedule myself. (I still have his voice mail promising) Here we are, year 3, and the units once again aren't working. 90 degrees in the house with all our ceiling fans and floor fans going. I'm having to find a reliable company to service our units because I've never gotten a phone call from Cocina unless I threaten to contact an attorney. BBB will not rate them and the attorney general's office is waiting for my documentation. Even the secretary said she was leaving because of work ethics

Our AC and heating unit broke on 3.4.2022. We have a home warranty through Choice home warranty. Cocina came out on 3.8.22 to have a look. Then changed it to the 11th. Finally someone came out on the 15th They decided our unit was better off being replaced They scheduled our replacement for 3.28 They told us we had to pay $950 for some electrical work and other fees not covered by CHW. We asked for an itemized receipt and were told quote "Unfortunately we get that question often and since CHW is who the contract is with, we are not allowed to disclose details without their consent. We are not privy to what CHW does/doesn't cover in their contracts I am sorry". We went ahead and paid. They canceled our appt. Said they did not receive parts. On April 11th Choice Home Warranty contacted us that we had to pay $150 for parts not covered. I asked then why are they already scheduling the repair appointment if parts are not even ordered. Went ahead and paid the $150 new install date set for 4.20. Delayed again due to no parts to 4.28. Showed up. Supposed to be a 1 day job. Didn't finish. Came back the 29th said would be done by 12 to 2. Guy left at 3:30 with chest pains and overheating. He was working in an Attic and with electrical alone in the heat! They said someone would come out and finish. They did not. Owner came to gather guys tools. I asked if I go buy a window unit would I be reimbursed because it was hot outsid and we were going to be stuck in the heat for another weekend He said yes. This portion unfortunately was verbal. They came back Monday and "finished" but the unit still wasn't cooling right, but was working somewhat. Owner Jose instructed me via text to give receipt for window unit to worker and they would reimburse us. By 5.6 I hadn't heard on the reimbursement so I texted. Said he would follow up on 5.9 he did not so I texted and said it still wasn't cooling house. He said someone would come out 5.11 and give us the check. They did not have the check and wanted the old unit back before reimbursement which was never agreed upon.He even stated over text messages that the return of equipment was never discussed. If I was just wanting to do a return/refund I could of done that at Lowe's and not gone through Cocina. I figured this would help make things right from this nightmare of a job. 2 months without air or heat and 4 days of install. Do not recommend.

Jose was very professional and efficient. His helper Mr. Luna also was very professional and worked to replace and upgrade my water heater. Would definitely use them again and highly recommend.

Cocina Solutions just replaced our heat pump. All I can say is that they are awesome. They stayed on the job until late evening to get us fixed up. Very polite, hard workers under less than comfortable conditions and honest to the core. Top shelf in my book.
