About

Southwestern Bell Telephone handles HVAC work in San Antonio, TX, with operations tied to the building at 1010 Telephone Boulevard. HVAC workers there face risks from asbestos materials used in older construction such as ductwork, ceiling tiles, and flooring before the mid-1980s ban. The site required yearly inspections and safety training under the Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response Act after 1986, yet damaged materials left employees and contractors exposed to fibers during routine maintenance and repairs. Abatement efforts removed some hazards but still put workers at risk without proper protections, reflecting the common challenges for HVAC crews in San Antonio buildings from that era where weather extremes drive frequent system checks and upgrades.

Technicians like Gabriel and Chet manage HVAC service calls by greeting customers, explaining options clearly, and resolving problems even when plans change mid-job or accounts need combining for family systems. Gabriel stays patient through long waits and extra requests while fixing issues on the spot, and Chet draws on solid knowledge to match the right equipment and service plans to household needs, including setups suitable for young children present during visits. D’Lana provides initial details on contacts and steps before handing off to the next technician, helping homeowners avoid repeated trips for duct repairs or unit adjustments common in the local heat and humidity.

Customers consistently note strong communication and quality results from these HVAC visits, with praise for patience during complicated account or plan changes and for delivering functional fixes without added delays. Speed stands out when reps acknowledge arrivals promptly despite busy periods, while price feedback remains mixed around wait times at the site. Overall the team earns credit for reliable outcomes on real jobs in San Antonio homes. DIRT Score 4.61 from 384 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Such a smooth experience today at ATT. Gabriel greeted us with a warm welcome and handled everything with ease. I was a difficult customer today. Like, really annoying. I kept asking for things. I even decided to trade phones with my man today. Gabriel was so patient, solved all issues with a smile, and was friendly and personable the whole time. 12/10 would recommend requesting Gabriel to help you at the Southwest Dr. location. He deserves a raise or a pony or something.

I found Chet to be less than helpful; in fact quite the opposite. I came into the store on Friday after having been there at 9 am and talking with D’Lana who was very helpful. I came into asking to combine accounts for my husband and me and D’Lana gave me all of the information, who to contact to get everything set up so we could combine accounts. I sent that information to my husband who went through the steps and told me everything was set up on his side. I came back to the store, and signed in to the iPad up front. While signing in, Chet came to the front and asked what he could help with. He wasn’t looking at me so I assumed he was talking to the lady behind me. He said “hey, you, yeah you ma’am what do you need help with”. I apologized and stated I thought he was talking with the lady behind me. I told him I wanted to combine accounts and he asked if I was an authorized user on my husband’s account and I replied that he had just put me down as one. He told me that he couldn’t help me because I wasn’t on the account. I told him again that my husband had just gone through the steps and Chet replied that I wasn’t on the account. I then called my husband and asked if he had done everything on his side, to which he responded yes and sent me a screen shot. I told Chet again that I wanted to combine our accounts and tried to show him the screen shot which he ignored and told me that I could just do this online, I didn’t need to be in the store “to get someone to do the work for me”. I was very frustrated at this point and left stating that since I couldn’t get any help I would be looking at changing service providers. He told me “that sounds great, not my problem”. Chet never once opened his device, asked for my name or phone number, or my husband’s name and phone number. I have never had an encounter with such an apathetic employee ANYWHERE. Everything in quotation marks is what he said to me VERBATIM. If it weren’t for the kind ladies, D’Lana, Ruth, and Corey (I think that’s her name), I would have gone to another company. I refuse to be “helped” by Chet any time in the future. He does not represent your company well and the other employees in the store don’t seem to like him much either.

Chet is literally the best rep my family and I have worked with. He is very knowledgeable and was so patient with my 5 year old. He helped choose the right plan for our family. I will be making appointments with Chet from now on. Thank you Chet for such an amazing experience.

The representative, Gabriel was excellent very informative and courteous. The wait time upon entering until representative available was 1.5 to 2 hours . Nobody acknowledges that your even there until a representative is available. The kiosk for signing in gives a negative vibe , a real person greeting would be great.

When we came in the other night Brandon A took great care of us. We were concerned about some fraud on our account and he assisted us in securing it. He was professional and personable.
