About

Mark's A/C Services runs as a local HVAC outfit right in Alta Loma, Texas. They take on air conditioning and heating jobs for houses across the area, where summers drag on with high heat and humidity that push systems hard. Homeowners here deal with units that break down during peak months or need fresh installs when old ones give out after years of constant use. The crew sticks to straightforward fixes and setups that match what Texas homes actually face, without extra layers or drawn-out waits.

In Alta Loma the main work involves repairing compressors and coils that fail under the sun, recharging refrigerant on units that leak over time, and swapping out entire systems in older properties that no longer cool properly. Technicians show up, check the full setup from thermostat to ductwork, then handle the parts that need attention so the house stays steady through the worst stretches of weather. Regular maintenance calls come up often too, with cleaning and checks that prevent bigger failures when the temperature spikes again. They move from one job to the next by bringing the right tools and stock on the truck, getting the system back online the same day whenever possible.

Customers give high marks for quick arrival times when the heat hits, solid repairs that hold up, and clear explanations on costs before any work starts. Reviews note fair pricing that avoids surprises and steady updates throughout the job so homeowners know what to expect. Those points add up across the feedback. DIRT Score 4.32 from 28 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

“Jared was very knowledgeable explained everything to me. He got my unit up and running, cleaned it out. It’s good to go. I will definitely be calling them back for future services regarding my air conditioning unit and furnace. So if you’re looking for someone that can do awesome honest HVAC work call them up I highly recommend them.”

“Thank me later. I know the contractor game has evolved into a dog-eat-dog business, I got out before it got really bad. But Mark's AC doesn't subscribe to that business model. Instead, they do business the old-fashioned way: provide great service at a reasonable price and earn a great reputation. My project was simple: I needed a deep clean on my mini-split system, and I wanted a checkup on my main AC unit. I did what you just did: I searched Google for companies with the highest ratings. The saga: Contractor #1 The tech showed up on time and was courteous. He did a visual inspection of both systems and then did some measurements. After a reasonable period of time he presented me with his findings and the estimate. He tells me that my main AC system needs 6 pounds of freon. 6 pounds!! Bear in mind that my main system blows cold air... always did and it still does. By his measurements, my system should be struggling. Next, came the verdict on the mini-split. He tells me that it too is in need of freon: 1 pound. This seemed a little more believable because my mini-split wasn't cooling as it did when new (6 years ago). But... was it because of the freon or was it because it was in dire need of a cleaning? His quote to clean and add freon to the mini-split was $949.99!!! Even worse, his quote to add freon to the main system was $1300!!!! Just for the freon, he wanted $200 per pound! R-410A should run less than $100 per pound, plus installation. My total investment would be $2249.99! Needless to say, I needed another quote. The saga continues: Contractor #2 Back to Google... found another contractor, setup the appointment, and a nice guy shows up. These guys have a "Special" running for $49 each system to do "Maintenance". He looks at my mini-split and the first words out of his mouth were "cleaning will be extra". I already knew that, but let's continue. He does his "inspection and maintenance" and now it's time for the big reveal: He finds that I don't need any freon whatsoever for either system... yay! But.... he proceeds to show me a video he shot, of my compressor motor. Oh my, he says the staining on the motor casing is due to an oil leak and soon my motor will seize up and kill my system! Plus, he said I'll probably need a new fan blade because the old one is most likely "stuck" on the old motor's shaft! LOL! Then he tells me that I need a "Hard-start" kit. Moving on to the estimate presentation: His quote to clean the mini-split is $674 (if I become a "Member"), and to replace the motor and fan blade for my main system is a whopping $1677, which included my "Membership subscription (annual). Replacing a motor and fan (if necessary) should run you less than $500. I paid him the $49 per unit and still felt frustrated. The saga ends (finally, I know) A friend referred me to Mark's AC. I called in the morning and his techs showed up early and got right on it. They found that neither of my systems needed freon! Yay again. My compressor motor is fine, the casing is slightly rusty (it's 15 yrs old!). Then they cleaned my mini-split right then. No extra charge other than the STUNNINGLY LOW PRICE they quoted before even showing up. I was gob-smacked! Pick me up off the floor. This can't be real. But it is. Moral of the story: Modern contractors push their techs to upsell you as much as they can. The techs make a commission. Even if your system is doing fine, they will always find something and then over charge you. And the magic number seems to be $2000+. Don't fall for it. If it looks like a scam and smells like a scam, it is. So do yourself a favor and stop reading this boring review and call Mark's AC Service. Now. His company will be the only one I will use for my residence and my rental property and the only one I will refer. You should do what I did. Oh yeah, like I said, you can thank me later. The End”
