Biggs Service Company
HVAC Contractor · Amarillo, TX
About
Biggs Service Company works out of Amarillo in the Texas Panhandle and focuses on HVAC repairs plus refrigeration and home appliance fixes for both houses and small commercial spots. They handle heating and cooling jobs on forced air units, heat pumps, mini-splits, package systems, and geothermal setups while also taking on commercial walk-in coolers and reach-in cases. The outfit stays ready for twenty-four hour calls and covers brands across the area where summers run hot and winters bring sudden cold snaps that knock out equipment fast.
Greg Biggs rolls up on jobs like sorting a defrost failure on an old GE side-by-side refrigerator after other attempts failed, and he later fixed a double oven that two prior servicemen had abandoned as unrepairable. The crew tackles air conditioner recharge and installation on split systems, electric heat package units, humidifiers for dry winter air, and appliance repairs on refrigerators, washers, dryers, dishwashers, and ranges. They also service restaurant prep tables and steam equipment without needing multiple trips back when parts line up right the first time.
Homeowners keep coming back for the careful way Greg checks every connection and tests the whole system before leaving, which shows in solid quality on both ancient and newer units. Reviews note clear explanations on what broke and steady follow-through that avoids repeat breakdowns, though scheduling can slip on busy weeks. Price comes in fair for the detail put into each call and communication stays direct once the tech arrives on site. DIRT Score 3.8 from 40 reviews on Finds.

“Edit to my original post since the owner came to her house and asked us to take it down. We have used this company's services once in the past but during this job he no called/no showed the appointment he scheduled and told my grandmother that she should've reminded him to come because he was very busy. He then charged my grandma a total of $395 for the diagnosis and the water valve replacement for the icemaker. My grandmother attempted to get some of the cost comped ($30 out of the $90 total for the diagnosis) since he no called/no showed her. He then charged her an extra $30 during the repair process on top of charging her for vacuuming behind the fridge. We would've been willing to vacuum if he asked us first. After he left, the icemaker still didn't work. Then, when she told him it didn't work, he told my grandmother he knew it wasn't going to work, and now we probably needed to replace the icemaker, which could cost another $250. Turns out, when I went over there to look at it again, he left the icemaker unplugged. Two days after I posted my objective as a possible review, the owner proceeded to call my grandmother and when she didn't answer, he showed up at her house unannounced to ask her to take it down. Thankfully, I was there and talked to him instead. The owner proceeded to apologize and correct us on our review. He then commended himself on his hard work. When I reminded him that we were more upset by his unprofessionalism (as he displayed showing up at her house uninvited) he told us he was sorry and that he views my grandmother as a mother and didn't intend any offense. This ordeal has made my grandmother very uneasy, and she is now afraid to be home alone. I write this review to state my honest opinion, not to discredit Biggs Service Company's work. At the end of the day, the icemaker did work again even if a couple of adjustments had to be made after he left. However, the unprofessionalism that the owner displayed has not only made us both uncomfortable to make further reviews but has encouraged us to seek business elsewhere. Do with this information as you will, but a message to the owner do NOT show up at my grandmother's house again. She doesn't wish to do business with you anymore and the review will stay up.”
“I described my fridge being a Kodiak told him it is in my bus and I can come to him, he said he doesn't have a office to come to, I said again I can come to you, he said he hasn't even heard of a Kodiak refrigerator and then he asked if it is ac or DC I said DC and I needed a rv place to find repairs. I said I need a fridge guy. I asked what is the difference between a AC and a DC then he eventually just hung up on me. I called back to find out the difference between the two and he hung up again so I left him a message. $90 or $99 for diagnosis and then $300 or more after...im sure he is good at what he does but he is not good at people skills....”
“Greg Biggs is very knowledgeable about refrigeration systems from 30+ year old systems to newer ones. I would also trust him with other appliances. His work is thorough and meticulous. He solved a defrost problem on our ancient GE side by side refrigerator/freezer. With his insights into how to adjust freezer/refrigerator temps, the unit is working better than it ever has before. Strongly recommend him for appliance repairs.”
“Greg came to assess our broken double oven. He was the third serviceman to look at the issue. The first didn’t even really look at it. The second said they had to order a part. A month after, after not hearing back, they said they wouldn’t be able to fix it after all. I called Biggs and reached Greg. He came the next day, truly looked at the problem, gave us a reasonable solution to actually be able to fix the oven. Then he advised us a way to fix our issue that would actually result in him making less money. I am impressed with this company and this serviceman. We have a lot of rental properties and work with a lot of repairmen and contractors. Finding one who has integrity, promptness, professionalism, and extensive knowledge is rare!! We will be using this company again.”
“I called and was given a prompt appointment to evaluate my dishwasher. On the day of the appointment I get a text asking to move it to the next day. On the next day I get a text to expect him to be late. After the appointment time I get a phone call saying he wanted to come an hour late. I said, 'I guess so', and then he said 'You know what? I'm cancelling. You'll find somebody else.' My opinion is you will need a full-time house sitter to accommodate appointments for Biggs Service Company.”
