68 Degrees
HVAC Contractor · Austin, TX
About
68 Degrees works as an HVAC outfit based in Houston, Texas. They focus on air conditioning and heating repairs plus installations for local homes. The city's long hot summers and heavy humidity put constant strain on cooling equipment, so calls come in for units that quit during peak heat or need upgrades to handle moisture buildup. Their technicians deal with the usual problems that come from running systems hard for months on end, including older homes where ducts and insulation fall short. Homeowners rely on them to keep indoor temperatures steady without running up high energy bills from inefficient equipment.
They handle service calls for compressor failures, thermostat replacements, and full system swaps when repairs no longer make sense. Work includes cleaning coils, sealing leaks in ductwork, and adjusting refrigerant to restore proper function. In Houston's climate they often add dehumidification steps during visits because standard cooling alone leaves rooms damp. Jobs get scheduled around the homeowner's availability, with clear steps laid out before any parts get ordered or work starts. Crews show up with the tools needed for attic and rooftop access, finish the diagnostics on site, and test the system before leaving to confirm it runs right.
Customers point to fast response times when units fail and steady work that holds through the season without callbacks. Pricing comes across as straightforward with no added fees after the initial quote. Communication stays direct from the first contact through the end of the job. Quality shows in fewer breakdowns afterward and systems that manage the heat without constant adjustments. DIRT Score 4.49 from 337 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“One of my favorite dining experiences in all of Austin. Went there tonight for my anniversary, and everything was perfection. The patio ambiance was beautiful, service from Donna was impeccable, and the food was flawless. We started with bread and fried macaroni balls, which were much lighter than we expected in the best way. The chicken parmesan had just the right amount of crispy breading, while the sauce on the spicy shrimp linguini was good enough to drink. Dessert was a real standout with dark chocolate profiteroles and their special Italian ice of the day, blood orange, with Amy's ice cream. The restaurant went above and beyond to make our anniversary special, and I could not recommend it enough. Hats off to the chef and the whole team. We will definitely be coming back again!”
“Everything about this restaurant is absolutely beautiful. Donna our server was probably the best server I’ve ever had. She was so kind, polite, attentive. The food is delectable. The atmosphere is fun, lively but still felt private. It’s a wonderful experience. Run, don’t walk to 68 Degrees.”
“We went here for dinner on a weekday. We ordered a glass of wine, mac and cheese balls, fries , a salad and three from the main course menu. Ambience and food were ok.”
“Pleasant lunch place. We started with a Caesar salad. A bit different than usual presentation wise, it's was whole lettuce leaves but it was good nonetheless because each ones were coated with the seasoning. Our entree were the Fettuccine with Mushrooms and Spaghetti with Tomato & Basil with a side of chicken. First one had nice earthy flavor but a little too saucy for my taste. Second one was flavorful in a way it was letting the tomatoes and basil shine. I am not sure if it was the normal, but the amount of "side" chicken was huge and that made the portion quite a challenge to finish! I didn't mind though since I was starving. Lastly we had a Tiramisu. To me it lack coffee flavor and there was too much mascarpone compare to the lady fingers.”
“Great food but extremely disappointed in this place. I had a 9pm reservation on Valentines and was excited for an excellent experience. I have experience serving and working in restaurants and found it completely unacceptable that it took over 15 minutes to be greeted, and 27 minutes from the time we were sat to get our drinks. With no mix drinks available, I found it insane that it took 13 minutes to receive our drinks after placing our order. We had to rush through our dinner as we had a second reservation for that night to make. If I’m spending $215 for a dinner for two, I expect service to provide a great experience. This place has no business charging these prices for such mediocre effort.”
