About

Able Heating & Air Conditioning runs its operations from Austin, Texas, where it focuses on HVAC services for homes across Travis County and nearby areas like Hays and Williamson counties. The crew works out of their spot on Callbram Lane and handles calls for heating and cooling issues that come up with the Texas climate swings. They get involved when previous companies cannot resolve problems with installed systems or when furnaces and air conditioners break down unexpectedly in winter or summer months. Homeowners in the area turn to them for straightforward fixes on units that other crews left unfinished.

They handle furnace replacements and full installations of heat pumps along with troubleshooting existing HVAC setups. For instance, when one homeowner needed a second look after another company installed a system that would not work right, they sent technician James the next day who checked everything thoroughly and got it running. Another time a furnace replacement went on the schedule quickly but required extra work to make the heat come on properly at the end of the day. In emergency calls during freezing nights their knowledgeable techs show up to fix fan engagement issues on furnaces, and teams like Jesse's complete both furnace and heat pump jobs in one day while keeping the site clean and talking through each step.

Customers keep coming back because the team arrives when promised, does solid work on the equipment, and keeps everyone in the loop during the job. Reviews highlight fast arrivals even for second opinions and complete installs in a single day without leaving a mess. The scores show strong performance on getting out to jobs quickly and delivering quality results, with room noted in how updates are shared. DIRT Score 5.0 from 1137 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Contacted Abel For a second opinion, while working with another company that installed our HVAC System, However, could not fix it. Abel Heating and cooling sent technician James to our house the very next day! James Is very friendly, professional, and thorough! After the initial visit He returned one more time And informed us that the next step would be to return with a Mitsubishi Technical advisor. Each time we received concise understandable information about what was done and what are the steps forward. The best communication skills I could ever have hoped for. On the third and final visit, James returned with the Mitsubishi technical advisor. They found and fixed the problem! Turned out to be a wiring problem to one of the pressure sensors in the outdoor unit. Thank you James and Able Heating And Cooling! Able is now our new go to For HVAC service and repairs. We also hope to see James again! But not too soon.

We hired Able for a furnace replacement this past winter. They were fairly quick in getting a furnace in and getting us on their schedule. I arranged my schedule to be here for them the entire install day. At the end of the day, when they couldn't get the unit to heat properly, they realized that they had actually installed the wrong furnace. So I arranged my day the next day so that they could come and remove the incorrect unit. It was another all-day job and they sent out an entirely different crew than was out here the day before. When we originally got a quote from them for the work, they charged a $200 service fee which they told us would be taken off of the invoice if we replaced the system. They, however, did not remove or credit the extra $200 when we bought the $8000 system. I called and left 4 messages with their accounting person, Roxanne. Not one call back. I spoke to the receptionist and asked her to have a manager call me. A manager did call several days later and told me he would take care of it and make sure they refunded us the difference. After several weeks of not receiving anything, I called him back and again, he said he would take care of it. I called to ask for another manager 2 more times after that over the course of several weeks. Nothing. Nobody would call me back, no check was sent. So after me taking 2 full days out for the install, them installing the wrong furnace, and then stiffing me on the $200 we were told we would get back, I cannot recommend Able. It's been 6 months of calls and messages and being ignored.

We have called upon Able Heating & Cooling before, back when our furnace last quit on us (during winter, of course), so I knew they provide good customer service and send out knowledgeable service people. This morning our furnace stopped engaging the fan at three in the morning while it was 37 degrees out. I immediately called their phone number and left a request for service asap and they were able to send a person today. We are so grateful. And B. was kind, polite, knowledgeable and very quickly figured out what had gone wrong and fixed it. (Spoiler alert: Change your furnace filters every three months so you don't stress your furnace motors!) He was able to clearly explain to us what had happened and I understood him immediately. Please give this fellow a raise! I'm so impressed he came after five o'clock and did not complain about the time or the long drive to get to us. Thank very much, B. for helping us today.

Jesse and the entire team was fantastic! They arrived on time, communicated with me as needed, and provided excellent service. The team communicated with each other professionally, the worksite was well maintained, and the furnace and heat pump installation was complete in one day! The bid was reasonable but more importantly the workmanship was phenomenal. Highly recommend ABLE

Our gas furnace stopped heating, but the fan continued to work. Over the weekend so we set up heaters in several rooms to compensate temporarily. I troubleshot most of the limiter controls. I called Able heating and cooling, and they sent someone over quickly. James arrived and found the issue within 10 minutes. It was the overtempt limiter that I could not find. He had to get the part. After he returned and replaced it he continued to give a full diagnostic on my furnace. It seems my blower motor capacitor is reading low but is still working for now. I will have to get that replaced at some time. He followed up with a complete system check to verify everything was working as it should. I would definitely use them again. It feels good to call in for and get just a repair. not a furnace sale recommendation. James, thanks again for the good work.
