“Airtron installed the AC system in our newly built home just 3 years ago. Recently, we experienced issues with the unit and contacted them using the number provided on the warranty information. The experience was extremely disappointing from start to finish. After coming out, they claimed the warranty had expired and charged us $792 despite not being able to properly identify the issue. We were then pressured into signing up for a monthly maintenance subscription, being told it was the “best option” and that no further major costs would be required. Shortly after, we were charged another $2,000. Even worse, the repair work they performed resulted in water leakage from the AC system, which has now forced us to hire a professional mold prevention and industrial drying company to mitigate potential damage. Communication throughout the process was poor, the technicians appeared inexperienced, and management was dismissive and arrogant when concerns were raised. Their contracts seem heavily designed to shield the company from liability while customers are left paying the price. “Very disappointing experience. Our home is only about 3 years old, yet we’ve experienced water leaks and multiple HVAC-related issues. During our first call, our concerns were quickly brushed off and blamed on a clogged drain line without a thorough investigation. We later hired an independent HVAC company, whose inspection identified installation and workmanship deficiencies, including issues with the duct insulation and HVAC installation. Unfortunately, builder is reluctant to take responsibility or to contact airtron. We are simply asking to stand behind their work and properly investigate and correct the problems. After questioning the charge, they reduced it to a more reasonable amount. The technician, Alexis, spent time inspecting the system and then informed me that a leak detection would cost approximately $800. This charge was only for the leak detection process itself and did not include any repair labor, refrigerant, or parts. I was also told that even if a warranty covered the part, I would still be responsible for additional labor and related costs. What frustrated me most was that after spending a significant amount of time at my home, I still did not receive a clear answer about where the leak was without agreeing to an additional $800 charge. Consumers should be aware of the pricing structure before scheduling service. In my case, the costs escalated quickly, and I felt the charges for diagnosis alone were excessive.
