Troy Lee Smart
HVAC Contractor · Austin, TX
About
Troy Lee Smart operates as an HVAC contractor right out of Austin, Texas. The work centers on keeping homes and businesses running with proper heating and cooling systems through the long hot stretches and occasional cold snaps that hit the area. Homeowners in this part of Texas deal with heavy air conditioning demands year after year, and this outfit focuses on the straightforward repairs and installs that keep those units going without extra layers of hassle. They handle the basic needs that come with living in a place where temperatures push equipment hard most months.
Common jobs include fixing broken compressors and replacing worn-out coils when the summer heat knocks systems offline, along with routine tune-ups that prevent bigger failures during peak season. Technicians show up to handle ductwork adjustments and thermostat swaps that match what older Austin houses actually need after years of heavy use. Customers have described calls where the crew troubleshoots no-cool issues on the spot and gets airflow restored without dragging the process out over multiple days. The approach stays practical, centered on getting the equipment back online so daily life does not grind to a halt when the outside temperature climbs.
Austin weather puts constant pressure on HVAC gear, and reviews show mixed results on how well jobs get completed without delays or added costs. Speed and communication come up as areas where results vary depending on the call, while quality holds when the fix matches the actual problem instead of a full replacement. Price feedback tends to split between those who feel the charges fit the work and others who expected tighter numbers. DIRT Score 3.71 from 26 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Unpresentable company, unpresentable staff and Customer Service. On feb 3rd I placed an order: Order EU-24110 through their EU website, the item arrived in a wrong size, they provided a return label, I deposited the parcel immediately, and appears to be lacking tracking, it's been more than a month now, and they haven't been able to issue my refund, from a problem they created in the first place.”
“Bad experience. Drive 2 hrs from hotel, and 19hrs from Seattle....walk up to door and see a post it note that says "off to lunch back 130", it's 1245. Doors locked, no one inside. 3 guys walking from the store to a car AS I was walking up to the front door!! They even saw me!! They said nothing, just drove away. They obviously worked there and locked the door. Their own posted hours say open with no posted "lunch break" closing. In my job, id be fired for just closing up because I fancy lunch outside. Unprofessional in my book. Rude.”
“Several years ago I transitioned from riding dirt bikes to peddle assist full suspension mountain bikes. For over 50+ years, I have rode all types of bikes and motorcycles. Because of health issues, I needed the safest, lightest, helmet possible. After researching and trying on many, I bought a Stage Helmet Stealth. After many miles in all conditions it is the best and most comfortable helmet ever. I did have some issues with the magnetic chin strap, but once I called the main store manager, she immediately had a solution for me that had me back riding.”
“NEXT LEVEL SERVICE! During our visit from Canada to Cali for the A1 Supercross, my boyfriend and I were thrilled to visit both Troy Lee locations. During our visit, we were greeted with smiles and questions about our stay in California. Everything from recommendations to Supercross Pit party info 😁 Oh and! One of the staff members even called a local bike shop to ask about MTB rentals during our stay. Upon her recommendation we did stay in Laguna for several days which was absolutely stunning. Top of the World was an epic time and we can’t thank you enough for going the extra mile. Keep it up TLD Crew, Sincere Thanks to you! 👊🏻✊🏻🙌🏻”
“Warning: Though it’s not posted on their website, their warranty window on clothing is only one year - even for manufacturing defects. I had a simple snap fall off my MTB long sleeve jersey and they refused to help me out. I even asked if I could get a replacement snap, but nope. I’m SOL.”
