H&B Refrigeration & Heating Inc

H&B Refrigeration & Heating Inc runs as a straight HVAC outfit based in Barstow, TX. They handle heating, cooling, and ventilation work for houses across the local area, taking calls for everything from broken units to full system checks. The company keeps its base along the lines of what shows up in directories like the one listing Waterman Road details and a direct phone for service jobs. Barstow homeowners deal with wide temperature swings and plenty of dust that clogs equipment fast, so this crew stays ready for the steady demand that comes with keeping air moving and temperatures steady inside. They show up with the tools needed to get systems running again without extra delays.

In practice the work covers installing new HVAC setups, repairing compressors and coils that fail under heavy use, and tuning ventilation to cut down on the dry air problems common around here. Techs clean out filters packed with sand and grit, recharge refrigerant lines on older units, and swap thermostats that stop reading right after a hot stretch. Homeowners call when summer peaks hit and the house turns into an oven, or when winter brings sudden cold snaps that expose weak spots in the heating side. The crew works through these jobs by checking the full system first, then fixing the actual problem instead of patching symptoms that will break again soon.

Customers in the reviews keep pointing to solid speed getting techs on site, quality that holds up after the visit, fair pricing that matches the scope of the repair, and clear communication on what needs doing and how long it will take. That mix adds up to the score they carry after handling dozens of local calls. DIRT Score 3.85 from 52 reviews on Finds.

“Very grateful for Eric coming out , got my ac back and running in the middle of 100 degree weather , me and my family are very grateful for you ! Great service awesome people!!! Will definitely recommend 100,000x thank you again !”

“I highly recommend H & B Refrigeration. Our serviceman Eric is the best. He was very nice and did a great job on our cooler. It’s never worked better! We also used their summer savings promotion and saved 10%! Thank you H&B for offering great service at a great price!”

“I had this company service my cooler for the season. I was charged $125 plus any replaced parts, my total was just short of $160, and a $20 tip. Within an hour of this service my cooler started making a horrendous noise, sounded like a helicopter was landing on my roof. I called and Eric came back over shortly. He oiled my bearings which he said needed replaced and I ask the cost. He said $12 apiece but he would not be able to do it until I called the office and scheduled another $125 charge and the cost of bearings. In my opinion a professional should have known the bearings needed replaced. I do not recommend this company.”

“They installed my new cooler which is good, Cooler now doesn't work on low high only. Paid for a stand I didn't need. Was told I would be called the next day by 9:30 about the refund no call I finally called at 11:00 to be told they technically were closed and she wasn't in the office and that they may or may not make to fix the problem today as I had cool air and to come in on Monday for my refund. Don't like the fact that I was told I would get a call by 9:30 am and nothing”

“CUSTOMER BEWARE...DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY One star is exaggerated but required to write a review This company is beyond ridiculous in price gouging. They charge by the hour and the clock doesn't stop ticking when they go to their office for parts. This guy left two times and was gone approximately 30 minutes each time. He should have had all of the parts needed the first time instead he left a second time and racked up more time. The bottom line is they charged $200.25 in labor and $135 for an ice machine filter and $12 for fittings for a gouged total of $358.64. All they did was change an ice machine filter and clean the coils on the ice machine & refrigerator. This is a job that could be done in 30 minutes, or less, but instead we were billed for 2.25 hours of labor. We have had this same filter replaced previously at no where near the cost or time. Last guy took 5 to 10 minutes to screw the new filter off and on.”
