The changing scenery makes the trail feel like a tour through several different ecosystems rather than a simple nature walk. The paths are well maintained, peaceful, and easy to enjoy at your own pace. Whether you’re a photographer, bird watcher, nature enthusiast, or just looking for a quiet place to clear your mind, this sanctuary offers something special. I’ve visited many trails in Southeast Texas, and this one stands out for its unique mix of habitats and the sense of discovery around every bend.”

The main trailhead has some informative bulletin boards about area vegetation. It doesn't look like much from the parking lot, but if you love hiking and nature trails, give this one a try.”

“Trail down by the river is a good walking trail. The upper trail has many wildflower and berry bushes. A good experience and not overly busy. The large bald cypress has a hollow hiding place if you go behind it.”
