About

Apache Air And Heat Llc handles HVAC work from Johnson City, Texas. This family-owned crew has operated across the Texas Hill Country since 2012, covering towns like Blanco, Bulverde, Canyon Lake, Dripping Springs, New Braunfels, and Wimberley. They deal with the region's hot summers and variable winters that push cooling and heating systems hard in local homes. The outfit sticks to air conditioning repairs, new system installs, heat pumps, ductless mini-splits, and indoor air quality upgrades for both houses and small businesses in the area.

Their techs handle everything from quick fixes to full replacements. Matt shows up for estimates on new HVAC units, walks customers through model choices that fit the house, and returns for the actual install. Tres tracks down leaks in coolers instead of just topping off freon and explains costs like the price per gallon before any work starts. Nick and Matt roll out same day on service calls, check systems thoroughly, and lay out multiple options to fix the issue without pressure. They cover emergency AC repairs, heating service, thermostat work, and maintenance to keep things running through the season.

Customers keep coming back because the crew shows up fast when called, does the job right the first time, and lays out clear choices on price and options. Reviews note reliable fixes on leaks and installs that hold up, along with techs who explain what broke and why without extra charges. The same day response and honest talk on costs stand out in the feedback for this kind of work. DIRT Score 5 from 561 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Matt from Apache was awesome. He came out to give an estimate on a new HVAC system. He was very friendly, knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us into just the right model for our needs. Then again he arrived at installation time. Highly professional company from start to finish so we are very pleased with the superior service. Definitely recommend them.

Apache's repair guy, Tres, is great! He came out originally to put more freon in my leaking cooler, but was able to find the leak and fix it! Then, before adding the "old" kind of freon, he told me it was nearly $300 a gallon, and I'd need 3 gallons. I asked him if there was any way to convert the cooler to the new kind. (I'd asked that of other companies before, and was always told that I needed to buy a new cooler.) Tres said absolutely! He figured out the cost, and it was not a whole lot more than refilling with the much more expensive freon. He had to order a part, and thought it would be a week til he came back. The next day, I got a call, they had the part. He came out that day and got my cooler up and running. I could not be more thrilled. I'd not known about Apache, but Pamela at Arnosky's Family Farm had told me about them, so I figured it was worth a try. SO GLAD I called them!

I honestly don’t even know where to begin with this company. About six months ago, they installed a brand-new HVAC system in our brand-new home, and the entire process from start to finish was already a nightmare. Communication was poor, delays were constant, and dealing with them was stressful the entire time. Now, only SIX MONTHS later, in the middle of Texas heat the air conditioner completely stopped working. We called them out, and even though the system is still under warranty, they were going to charged us $100 for the service call. The technician came, looked at the unit, and told us they needed to order parts. That was two and a half weeks ago. Since then, we’ve been calling every single week, and every single week we get the same answer: “The part should arrive this week, we got you on the schedule.” And every week — nothing happens. No repair, no follow-up, no honesty, no urgency. At this point, I honestly want to ask if the parts are being shipped from Mars because I cannot understand how it takes over two weeks to repair a brand-new system that’s supposedly under warranty. What makes this even more concerning is that after reading other reviews, we noticed several people mentioning that they had repeated issues with their systems and had to call this company out multiple times a year for repairs and warranty problems. Unfortunately, based on our experience, it seems like this may be a common pattern rather than a one-time issue. Living in Texas without AC in 100+ degree weather is brutal, and this company clearly does not care once they’ve been paid. Charging customers for warranty service calls and then leaving them without air conditioning for weeks while repeatedly misleading them is completely unacceptable. Extremely disappointed. Would absolutely not recommend!

As a first time customers, we were impressed that Apache had enough techs in their pool to get out to our home on the same day as our request for service. Nick and Matt were prompt, polite and thorough with their assessments. They provided several options for us to consider to resolve the problem. After Nick and Matt left, we received a follow-up call making sure we were pleased.

We were very happy with Nick! He explained everything well and was very patient with our questions. Thank you for sending a knowledgeable and personable service technician! I should add that our Trane unit is only 3.5 years old and we are surprised to have any issues with it so we are reaching out to the manufacturer regarding warranty.
