About
Paul Kohlhepp A/C & Heating operates out of Bryan, TX as a local HVAC outfit handling heating and cooling needs for homes in the area. The crew focuses on straightforward repairs and maintenance for residential systems that face heavy use during hot Texas summers and cooler winter stretches. They take on jobs ranging from quick fixes on failing units to full replacements when systems break down completely. Homeowners in Bryan often deal with high humidity and dust that clog coils or strain electrical components, and this company steps in with direct service calls to keep air moving properly without unnecessary delays.
They handle specific tasks like installing jumpstart capacitors and relays to drop electrical draw from over 90 amps down to the 60s range, swapping out burned main capacitors, adding safety switches, inspecting evaporator coils, and reconnecting abandoned heaters in bathrooms. Patrick shows up for repeat customers over many years, running full checkups on both indoor and outdoor units, cleaning dirty coils that block cooling, and sorting out complete HVAC failures at rental properties where prior contractors missed the real problems like bad condensing units. Calls lead to next-day arrivals for diagnostics, followed by targeted fixes that restore function without extra upsells.
Customers stick with them because the work quality stays top notch on every visit, pricing comes in fair without surprises, and communication keeps folks updated from the first call through completion. Response speed earns solid marks even on short notice, while the consistent results on repairs and maintenance build long-term trust across Bryan homes. DIRT Score 5.0 from 174 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“This guy came and helped installing an additional jumpstart capacitor and relay to reduce the electrical current down to 60s A, from >90s A. Also replaced the almost burnout main capacitor, installed safety switch, check evaporator coil, and even reconnect the bathroom heater that was abandoned since the house was first built 5 years ago. He's busy (because everyone knows he's good), so be patient and give him some time to catch up, and you won't regret. Better, call him BEFORE the end of spring and fall to check the AC before it fails during the change of season.”
“Patrick has been our AC guy for nearly 10 years. He is professional, courteous, prompt and personable. The consistent quality of his work and affordable fees have kept us faithful customers all these years.”
“I asked on Nextdoor App for recommendations for ac repair and quite a few neighbors recommended Dr. Kool A/C & Heating. Called them and showed up next morning did all his checkups on both units and checked the coils which needed maintenance. After cleaning them, our home has been cooling as it should be and we greatly appreciate all he’s done and will definitely be our go to for future ac repairs. We highly recommend giving them a call to fix/repair your AC.”
“Honest work, fair price — the real deal! Had a complete HVAC failure at my rental property. A home warranty contractor came out first and conveniently left out the real issue on the diagnosis. Found Dr. Kool (Patrick ) here on google and he identified and fixed everything — replaced the condensing unit, swapped the orifice for R-410A, replaced the filter drier, capacitor, disconnect box, and re-insulated the copper lines. System is cooling perfectly.”
“Patrick was awesome to work with. He responded to my problem quickly and had it fixed in no time. He even resolved another A/C issue that I didn't even call him about. He charged a very fair price for the time he was there and the work he completed. I will be recommending him to anyone who asks me about A/C services.”
