About
Interstate Companies, Inc handles HVAC work from their base in Pasadena right by Houston. They focus on commercial clients across the city and surrounding areas where extreme heat and humidity put heavy demands on cooling equipment year after year. The operation centers on installing and servicing systems with an eye toward cutting long term operating costs through solid parts and straightforward repairs rather than constant callbacks. Local businesses rely on them for everything from routine maintenance to full replacements when units fail during peak summer loads.
Their crews handle commercial HVAC projects such as charger and battery related faults on marine setups near the water along with standard air conditioning fixes and warranty checks on equipment that stops performing. Customers have brought in units showing reversed polarity problems or high impedance readings that prevent proper starts and they test cold cranking amps on site before deciding on replacements. Staff often deal with deep cycle battery issues on boats and vehicles where online registration for coverage drags out or fails after purchase leaving owners without quick resolutions. In Houston traffic and heat these jobs require quick trips to the shop but the process frequently leaves people waiting while teams stay in the back.
Customers have repeatedly flagged slow responses poor attitudes from staff and frustration over warranty claims that never process correctly which drags down results across speed quality and communication. Low marks come from cases where simple battery swaps turned confrontational or where equipment faults went unfixed after multiple visits. The pattern shows consistent trouble meeting basic expectations on straightforward commercial HVAC calls. DIRT Score 2.15 from 49 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Three staff guys gave me irritated looks, and made me feel like an intruder not a customer. They didn't say why, just hid in back. The guy who finally helped me smirked because I don't know specifics about my car engine - to buy a battery? He acted confrontational as if daring me to want installation as well. I closed my hood and went to X to share my experience.”
“Recently checked my ProMarine onboard charger on my 22' G3 and it was showing a fault code. To make a long story short one of my 3 Interstate Marine Batteries had gone bad. While researching this issue I found out that the bad battery had reversed polarity where the negative was positive and the positive was negative. Everyone that I spoke with said they had never heard of this happening. Bought a new NAPA Marine Battery to and I had the me anager in of the NAPA Store check in the old battery out. He put the meter on the battery correctly and it displayed dead. I told him to put the meter negative lead on the positive terminal and the positive lead on the negative post. He did and the battery registered a 3.4 volt level. Just figured that this was something that you folks would want to know about. Alex McColman”
“I had purchased a battery from the local interstate battery dealer, the battery will not start a car anymore it is within 24 month warranty. We tested the battery at home the cold cranking amps and the charge were both good, however the impedance was registering at 17.9. Took the battery in the person at the store didn’t even know what impedance was or why that was a problem. I explained this to him and then he says they won’t honor the warranty. Needless to say there will be no more batteries bought from this company for my household or any of my family households.”
“Joke of a company!!! Go with RELION instead. I have these idiots my business and bought an $800 lithium deep cycle battery and now after 5 days and about a dozen attempts I can't get the online warranty registration to go through even though I've been on the Internet since way before most people ever even heard of it!!! so I finally tried calling and the first thing I get is "press one for English" which means I will never do business with them again or recommend them to anyone. Secondly instead of getting put on hold which would be bad enough I get sent to a recording to leave a message!! How much freaking time do I need to put into this debacle of a pathetic company just to register my warranty?!?!? Go with RELION they have dealers everywhere and everyone I talk to says they've never encountered any problems like this pathetic company.”
“Very poor warranty both batteries were bad but only warranted the one that had no acid left in it and told me I would have to make a second 100 mile trip to warranty the second or by a new battery at a prorated price of over $130 and then could have the third battery warranted after they tested it. Then they would give it to me after another $130 and 100 mile round trip I'm disabled and don't have the funds to replace a battery that already failed testing and don't need three batteries for my truck. I will buy Wal-mart or auto parts stores batteries for a cheaper cost and easier warranty.”
