“In April 2024 I purchased a heat pump from Home Depot. They hired a company named Cool Air Mechanical to install the heat pump. Cool Air didn’t know the difference between a heat pump and an air conditioner. They installed an Air conditioner thinking it was a heat pump. Cool Air Failed to pull a permit to install what they thought was a heat pump. They failed to install what they thought was a heat pump up to code. It is a fire hazard and a flood hazard according to the city code enforcer. Because of their incompetence in installing the unit the unit leaked water and flooded my home. They did $70,000+ damage to my home. The air conditioner that they thought was a heat pump also went obsolete Jan 1 2025 due to the refrigerant it uses. They charged me $15,000 for a heat pump and then installed an air conditioner thinking they were the same thing. They installed over sized heat strips in the unit creating another fire risk. Luckily they didn’t install the breaker box or my house would have burned down. Unfortunately this company doesn’t have any idea what they are doing and are destroying North Texas homes to make a quick profit. I’m not sure anyone has dealt with incompetence on this level before but this company shouldn’t be in business. When we contacted cool air it took them 3 months of emailing for them to give the answer that they didn’t install it up to code and I would have to sue them for them to fix it. They said in the denial letter that it wasn’t installed up to code. They installed it. The company gives the installers a checklist to fill out as they do the install to make sure they don’t forget anything. They handed it to me blank. Everything the county inspector failed the unit for was on their own checklist. They just had to follow it. Feel free to reach out with a more reasonable resolution.”

We ran into one or two very minor bumps, which James quickly resolved and the new AC units were up and running smoothly in no time. Since installation, the new units have kept my home cool and comfortable, even during the hottest summer days here in Texas. We would highly recommend Cool Air . “Cool Air/Home Depot did a fantastic job installing my air conditioning unit. When my system went out, I requested bids from several companies highly rated on Google Maps. I chose Home Depot because I believed their reputation would help resolve any issues. Although their bid wasn't the lowest, I found it to be the best value overall. Mike, the salesman from Cool Air/Home Depot, came to my house, looked at my system and showed me the way ours was installed and pictures of the way it should be installed. He also identified a duct issue, which was causing cooling issues in two of our bedrooms. Isair, the installer, arrived promptly at 9am and worked diligently throughout the day. He walked me through the work he had done, which looked very well done. I also measured the air using an Infrared thermometer and found that the air coming out of the duct was 15 to 20 degrees cooler than the air in the room, as it should be. Despite not being the cheapest bid, I was extremely satisfied with the value for money that Cool Air/Home Depot provided. Their balance of quality work and reasonable pricing was a winning combination.”

“There was an issue with emHeat. Called cool air in the morning and Justin, the technician arrived in the afternoon. Justin did some diagnoses and found out the issue was due to the malfunction of switch board. Justin replaced the board the other day. Justin is very nice and profession. Shout out to Justin. Great service, particularly with the 3 year 0% ARP financing option. Installed the new HAVC within 2 days after I signed the contract. Rashad is very responsive and nice.”
