About

Bluegreen Air Conditioning & Heating works out of San Antonio, Texas, and handles heating and cooling jobs for houses across the city. They take on HVAC work that covers everything from full system replacements to smaller fixes that come up in older homes. San Antonio weather puts real strain on equipment, with long hot stretches and occasional cold snaps that leave furnaces and air conditioners struggling. The crew steps in for those situations, dealing with aging units that homeowners often need swapped out after twenty years or more of service. They also cover related tasks like water heater installs when the main HVAC work overlaps with plumbing needs.

They put in new tankless hot water heaters and wrap up smaller projects at the same time while leaving the job site clean. Furnace installations get completed on schedule, with crews arriving at the promised time like eight in the morning and sending warranty paperwork by email afterward. When systems break down, they respond fast to diagnose and repair issues, and they replace twenty-year-old air conditioning units once homeowners compare options and decide to move forward. One tech named Daniel W. drew notice for trying to steer a customer toward a full new system over an R-22 unit without clear details on availability or cost.

Homeowners note the crew sticks to arrival times and follows through on every promise made during the job, which keeps repeat business coming from the same families. Service calls get handled quickly without long delays, and the quality of the actual install work holds up well enough that people recommend them after the fact. Price checks often lead back to this outfit for bigger replacements because the numbers line up against competitors. Mixed results show up when sales pressure feels off, but steady performance on timing and fixes builds the record overall. DIRT Score 4.12 from 32 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Blue Ribbon did a good job for us installing a new tankless hot water heater and a few other smaller projects. They did a nice clean job.

Blue Air is great! In addition to doing a great job with the actual installation of my furnace, they followed through with every single thing they promised. They said that they were going to be there at 8:00am, and they were. They said that they were going to e-mail me a copy of the warranty, and they did. They were on-time, courteous, and did it all at a competitive price. That kind of dedication and follow-through goes a long way with customer service. I highly recommend Blue Air! I wrote the above paragraph 8 years ago, and I just wanted to amend it. I recently used BlueAir to install a full HVAC system in my new house two years ago. Since the installation, I have had to rely on BlueAir for some follow-up work. Both Marianna and Mark have been extremely accommodating, and follow through to ensure that their customers are satisfied. Marianna even took my phone call after hours when I needed to speak with her. Thanks for the great customer service!

We have been using BlueAir for years and have recommended them to several friends. They are always prompt to respond and quick to solve any issues we've had with our system. We recently decided to replace our 20 year old AC units. After comparing prices, we again moved forward with BlueAir. Their prices were fair and the work was done in a reasonable amount of time. The crew was professional and cleaned up thoroughly after their work. Units are great, so hopefully we won't see them for awhile ;).

Stay far away from this company. The tech named Daniel W. is nothing more than high priced used car salesman. He had no idea about the laws regarding R-22 and attempted to scare me into getting a new system because he said he can't find R-22 and if they could it would cost a couple thousand dollars. How can anybody trust these people when the homeowner knows more about their business than the tech? The current company fixing my system had 2 bottles of R-22 on his truck and a pallet back at the warehouse. This company I'm going with is charging me $500. Compared to Daniel' quote range of thousands up to $14,000 for a new system this is a no brainer.

I choose BlueAir based on a recommendation from a colleague. We called them in the morning and they came out the same day at 3:00 pm. Although it turned out that our A/C unit just needed some more refrigerant, the service technician was very thorough and gave our system a complete check over. He was very polite and helpful and answered a lot of questions I had about how our A/C actually works. Once he'd added the refrigerant, he stayed to make sure the house was cooling down before he left. I was very satisfied with the service!
