Alternative Heating & Air

Alternative Heating & Air runs an HVAC operation based in Chico, California, where they handle heating and cooling needs for homes across the region. Located at 13303 Cabin Hollow Ct, Suite 600, the company serves Chico along with nearby spots like Paradise, Oroville, and Magalia. Their core trade centers on AC and furnace work to keep indoor temperatures steady through hot summers and cooler winters that hit this part of Northern California. Homeowners here often deal with dust, variable weather, and aging equipment that requires regular attention to avoid breakdowns during peak seasons.

They handle AC installation and replacement for new or outdated units, plus full service calls for repairs, tune-ups, and maintenance to keep systems running without constant issues. Emergency AC repair stands out when sudden failures occur on the hottest days, while furnace services cover similar fixes and upkeep for winter reliability. Technicians respond to calls for routine checks that catch small problems before they grow, and they work on everything from basic filter changes to complete system swaps in residential settings. In Chico the dry heat and occasional cold snaps mean these jobs focus on efficiency and quick response to prevent discomfort or higher energy bills for locals.

Customers rate the company highly for fast arrivals on service requests, solid workmanship on repairs, fair pricing without surprises, and clear updates throughout each job. These strengths show up across dozens of reviews and reflect steady performance on both simple maintenance and tougher fixes. The team earns its standing by showing up prepared and finishing work that lasts in local conditions. DIRT Score 4.63 from 38 reviews on Finds.

“Honest, reliable, helpful, communicates well and is 100% dependable. Has helped us and other family members for years…. Highly recommend.”

“We had Jason come out to look at our system thinking it had big problems but he went through everything and had it working perfectly without trying to sell us a new system. I would highly recommend this company to anyone.”

“The technician was very friendly and helped us sort out an issue with the furnace. He didn’t try to sell us on anything which we appreciated!! Will be using this business when we do need to replace our unit.”

“We had just come back into town right in the middle of a late spring heatwave only to find our AC had given up the ghost. The place was an oven. Then along came Alternative Air to save the day! We knew we had found something special when we spoke with lovely Robin on the phone. She was very sweet and was able to have someone come out right away. It made our day, and she said it made hers to be able to help people out. The Tom showed up at our place. Absolutely the nicest guy you could meet. He figured out our problem (and our neighbor's) and got the job done quickly and professionally, and despite the heat, he was an absolute pleasure to work with. You can tell that Tom and Alternative Air are really committed to making sure their customers are happy and satisfied with the job, and we will absolutely call them next time we have we have an HVAC issue. Five Stars all the way!”

“Great company. My AC went out the first day of triple digit weather. I called their office, and they had a friendly, experienced technician at my house in less than two hours, and they had all the parts stocked already in the truck and had my air on in minutes. I highly recommend them over any other company due to pricing, customer service, and their complete thoroughness in all the work that they do. Their commitment to excellence is worth the peace of mind that comes with trusting them for all your energy needs.”
