HVAC Contractor · Conroe, TX
About
Tomball Mechanical runs as an HVAC outfit based in Conroe, Texas, where the crew handles air conditioning and heating work for homes across the region. They focus on keeping systems reliable through the long hot summers and sudden cold fronts that hit local properties. The company sticks to straightforward service on residential units, including repairs when units fail and regular upkeep to prevent breakdowns during peak weather. Homeowners in Conroe and nearby spots like Tomball turn to them because the work stays practical and tied to what the equipment actually needs.
Gary handles the on-site jobs and shows up the same day when an air conditioner quits, running a full check on the system before any fixes. He has pulled out air handlers and installed furnaces so generators keep working during outages, and he completes maintenance on heat pumps and mini splits without extra steps. Becky takes care of the scheduling side, making sure appointments line up and returning calls promptly so homeowners know when someone will arrive. The team covers AC installation, heating repairs, indoor air quality checks, and new construction setups, always working with standard tools on the brands common in Texas homes.
Customers keep coming back because the work stays fast and honest, with Gary arriving on time and avoiding any push for unneeded parts or upgrades. Prices stay reasonable, calls get answered quickly, and both owners treat people fairly without delays or complications. Folks mention the same reliability year after year, whether it is an emergency fix on a holiday or routine service that holds up. DIRT Score 3.6 from 19 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“I was referred to Tomball Mechanical by a friend who has been using their service for a long time. They are quick, honest and very reasonable with their prices. I am a recent widow and Becky was so kind to help me. Gary arrived the same day my A/C went out and did a complete exam on it. He said the Terminal was blown and it could not be fixed. My home warranty company assigned an A/C company to check it out and they never called on the day it went out nor did they call anytime after that. I gave permission for Tomball Mechanical to complete the work and they came back on Monday morning and were done by 1pm. This company is totally excellent to work with, they are not like other companies that give you the shuffle and charge more than needed. They are very upright and honest. C. Salinas”
“You couldn't ask for a better & more experience guy than Gary. Becky made sure that appointments were met in a timely fashion Gary went over and beyond our expectations. He saved the day by pulling out our air-handler and install a furnace so our generator would work properly. And, stored our air-handler to sell later to a loving home. That eventually happened and they sent us a check. I would not let anyone else work on our system. Exceptional company... good folks. Carolyn & Fred”
“It’s rare to find a service provider of this quality. Becky handles the scheduling seamlessly and Gary is always on time, never attempts to upsell, and is one of only a few service providers I trust completely. Have utilized their service for years. A few years back on July 4th my elderly neighbor lost a/c service. Gary came out that day and fixed the issue. They are the best in the biz.”
“I have been using Tomball Mechanical for years. Becky and Gary Duke are the owners. Calls are returned in a timely fashion! They are trustworthy, efficient and reasonably priced. They’re the only company I will use.”
“I purchased a home in September 2013 and the AC went out in October. I contacted Tomball Mechanical because they were who the previous homeowner had used to install the new system. They came out and told me what the issue was and then macgyvered it so it would cool until they could order a new part. We didn't hear back from them. Luckily it was cooling down and we didn't have the AC on. When it started to get warm again in March (I think March), we contacted them again to let them know it was STILL broken. Gary came out soon after to fix it only to tell me they still had not ordered the part they told me they needed. He said he knew it was still broken but wanted to "wait until it got warmer" to fix it. He then did something to fix it in the meantime, and went on his merry way. I was contacted my Becky (I'm guessing the receptionist or manager) via text (never called) and was told when her crew could be here to install the coil a few weeks after Gary had come out. I have the same set schedule every day, I get off at 2pm and am home by 2:30...3pm at the latest. I had contacted them once and told them I had to work late and was informed they had a job after and could not longer come to my house, no problem, I was the one that had to reschedule. I didn't hear back from them for weeks. I was then told they could be at my house at 3pm to fix the issue and it would take an hour and a half. By 3:40 I contacted Becky asking where they were and she said they would arrive at 4pm, an hour late. I had to cancel because I had a doctors appointment at 5pm. I have tried to contact her twice to see when she could set up for her crew to come fix this issue stemming back from OCTOBER and she told me they would not help me. Apparently my labor warranty had run out before I had even purchased the house, which no one had told me. I would have gladly paid for labor if I was informed, but once again, was not. She then texted me telling me that my schedule is not flexible (even though I have mondays off and am home every other by 3pm) and that "being an hour behind schedule is not bad." Not only that, but then told me the PRIVATE health details of one of her clients so that I would not be upset when they were an hour late. I told her it was none of my business who her clients were or what they were personally going through, but apparently she thinks that is public knowledge. I will never use them ever again and will make sure no one I know ever uses them. I would have been more than happy to pay for labor, but was not told I had to. The issue with my AC should have been fixed back in October when it first broke, but for some reason was not. This should not still be going on 8 months later. Please learn from my mistake and never use them. Find someone else who will value your time and not tell other clients the details of your personal health.”
