About
Jester Air & Repair operates out of Austin, Texas, with a strong focus on HVAC repair and service work right in the Jester Estates neighborhood. They handle air conditioning units, minisplits, and full system replacements for homeowners who need reliable cooling in the Texas heat. The crew works on both standard setups and systems tied to solar power, stepping in when old equipment fails and making sure the new gear matches what is already on the roof. Local customers call them for everything from quick fixes to planned upkeep because they know the area and the common problems that come with older homes and long summers.
Their day-to-day work covers twice-yearly maintenance visits under service agreements, same-day minisplit repairs, and full unit swaps when needed. One crew member named Ralph showed up the same day a call came in, checked a minisplit, ran it efficiently, and then offered a straight second opinion on a separate HVAC system that still needed work. During bigger jobs they bring portable AC units to keep houses comfortable while the old equipment comes out. They have answered calls on Sundays to get units running again and keep the process simple from the first phone contact through the final fix. Homeowners mention the experienced hands on site and how the team explains what is running well and what needs attention without pushing extra work.
Customers keep coming back because the crew shows up fast, tells the truth about costs and options, and finishes jobs without dragging things out. Reviews highlight same-day responses, Sunday service when units died, and clear updates during maintenance checks that catch issues early. Quality shows in the clean installs and lasting results, while the price stays fair for the level of work and the reliability of the maintenance plans. Communication stays direct from the office to the field, making scheduling and follow-ups straightforward every time. DIRT Score 5.0 from 290 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“This company took great care of us and takes good care of its people. They understood what kind of system we needed paired with our solar and got us set up with portable AC units while we were waiting for our old unit to be replaced. The crew is all experienced and friendly, and it was easy to setup my appointment, confirm, and reschedule.”
“We have a maintenance agreement package with Texas Air Repair and could not be happier with our decision to purchase it a little over a year ago. They come out and service our system twice a year and let us know how everything is running and if we need any maintenance. They have been very honest and never push us to do anything, they just let us know what is going on and we decide from there what we would like to do. Christian has been our tech the last couple of times and has been polite, friendly and knowledgeable. Answers all our questions and explains so we understand what is happening. We have had a great experience with this company and would recommend them for any A/C maintenance needed.”
“Ralph came to service my minisplit the same day I called. Not only was he efficient, professional and courteous, he also gave me a second opinion on my HVAC which is awaiting repair. Great company and first-class service from the first call until mission completion. Call Texas Air Repair. They’ll get the job done!”
“We have used Texas air repair for all our ac needs! They do outstanding work, even got to us on a Sunday, getting our unit back up and running! Would 100% recommend to anyone looking for a true honest reliable company. Of course we signed up for their maintenance program to mitigate these situations moving forward.”
“Very knowledgeable and capable technician and great to work with. But from a consumer's point of view the cost is really getting extreme. My cost was $1,813. My unit is just a couple weeks shy of 6 years old. The work and repairs were - the capacitor was replaced, the technician discovered a leak is the larger low-pressure line coming from the house and he repaired it (it was a good catch because it could have easily have gone unnoticed), the refrigerant system was then evacuated and a nitrogen pressure test done to confirm that the leak repair would hold, the system was evacuated to around 300 microns to insure all moisture was removed from the refrigerant system and then the system was refilled with refrigerant to the proper amount along with added oil, and subsequently the system was placed into operation to check that the performance parameters of the system while in normal operation. Again, the technical work done was very good, but the cost was staggering (it's like the economy has gone haywire). When I had this system put in 6 years ago the cost was $6,500. If I was to replace it with a new system now the costs quoted were staggering as well - the cost would be at least twice as much and more. Having prices more than double in only 6 years is really scary. But again, the work that was done was very competent. And for that I am grateful. Good job but cost-wise (even if justifiable) is scary as the dickens.”
