Air City Ac & Heating Llc
HVAC Contractor · Cypress, TX
About
Air City Ac & Heating Llc works out of Houston, Texas, where the intense summer heat and humidity put constant strain on home cooling systems. This HVAC outfit focuses on air conditioning and heating repairs plus replacements for residential customers across the city. Houston homeowners often face sudden unit failures during peak months, and the company takes on those calls along with upgrades from older equipment that can no longer keep up with local demands. They stay active in both routine service and bigger jobs that involve bringing in new systems recommended after an inspection.
Technicians handle full replacements on aging units, same-day or scheduled visits when an AC stops working, and coordination with outside warranty outfits such as American HomeShield. Jobs have included setting up brand new equipment after an older system quit, confirming appointments for repairs that sometimes stretch across multiple days, and attic work where access led to incidental damage like a broken light socket. Scheduling windows can run late or require follow-up calls, yet the crew keeps moving through the volume of requests that come in during the hottest stretches of the year.
Homeowners have pointed out the busy workload that leads to longer wait times for appointments, yet many still rate the final workmanship and equipment results highly enough to keep the overall marks strong. Speed and communication draw mixed notes when delays hit, but price and quality of the installed units receive steady approval from those who complete the process. “Same issues as everyone else took months to get the system fully installed and everytime i made a appointment they either dont show up or show up hours after the scheduled window, not mention they broke the light in my attic.. light bulb not that big of a deal but to leave it broke inside the socket kinda is then to put it even futher when they came back out i told the guy hey the last people yall had here broke the light heres a new one would you remove the old broken bulb in there and put the new one in and they said yeah well when the left the had laid the new bulb down and damaged the socket so now ive got to replace that fixture and rewire it. Be sure if you do end up using this company make sure you get the correct filter size. Unlike me... the size thats written down in my contract is not the size i have,Contact size is $30 the size that's in there cost $75 And they dont recover the freon and dispose of it. Water in a bucket with the hoses. Completely unhappy with this company!”
“RUN AWAY - DO NOT ALLOW AMERICAN HOMESHIELD OR OTHER WARRANTY COMPANIES TO ASSIGN YOUR REPAIR TO AIR CITY AC & HEATING, IT WILL COST YOU TIME AND HEADACHE, READ THE OTHER REVIEWS TOO **EDIT - it appears this is a combo issue between Air City and American Homeshield - and they are both blaming the other for this. Air City says they placed the order for the part on the 5th, wasn't approved until the 16th. AHS says they got the report on the 5th but it wasn't completed and it took them 11 days to finalize the report due to Air City being unable to answer their phone during business hours. As of now, 6/29, I learned that the part is STILL not located, we are still waiting for it. So Air City may blame AHS for delaying the part, but Air City still has poor visibility and can't manage scheduling their own completed jobs. If the tech won't arrive, they won't call you, and they won't give you the tech's phone number. If they schedule, they will only call you IF they will show up. Which is crazy, because if they're not showing up.... Nobody will tell you. As of now I am working on escalating this with both companies. Been on the phone going on an hour, missing the early part of work to finish AHS and Air City's job. This is not how this service should be, I pay monthly so they do this for me. But AHS is willing to partner with Vendors they acknowledge as "being difficult to get a hold of on the phone" - Vendor Problems are a Service Provider problem, so you can't just blame Air City. Contacted American Home Shield to fix a small problem with my AC that caused my unit to be unable to push air in my SE Texas home at the end of May. They assigned Air City AC for the first week of June. Guy came in, said the issue was a small one, just need to replace the fan motor in the unit. They said they'd order and get back to me. THREE WEEKS LATER of no AC, I called Air City. They put me on hold 2 times for a total of 15 minutes, I called back the 3rd time and they said they had not ordered the part, didn't have it, and were working to get it. They wasted THREE WEEKS, meanwhile I communicated with them that not only is it texas but my wife is now 29 weeks pregnant, and the inability to push air in my house has caused me to get two dehumidifiers and a portible AC to prevent against mold buildup and dampness (texas is wet people). They reassured me that they would be on site to repair this past Saturday the 27th. They sent me two emails, one that provided ETA of 0800-1200, and another stating ETA of 1300-1700 I waited doing yardwork ALL DAY Saturday and nobody came. Nobody emailed me, I called their office dozens of times, nobody answered. Its 8:26AM and Air City is supposed to be open at 7:00AM. I have called them FIVE TIMES this morning. They have not emailed me back, they have not notified me of a reshedule, and they don't seem to have any awareness of whats going on. I'm at the point of wanting to file with the attorney generals office, file with the BBB, and insist AHS find a different vendor for this type of repair or I will leave AHS and leave and file with them similarly. Its a shame, the guy who initially came was nice, but this company seems to be unable to fulfill their obligation and I've now been without AC in my house for over a month, and they're what I describe as three weeks and counting LATE on this repair. This is an embarrassement and I'm hoping Air City will do something to make this right.”
“My AC unit is down, and I contacted this company on June 4th. The earliest available appointment they had was June 10th, which I understood due to how busy they were. However, on June 10th, no one called and no one showed up. I left two voicemails and called twice more to confirm whether they were still coming, but I received no response at all. Very disappointing lack of communication and follow-through. UPDATE: They came out Tuesday June 16h. They turned in the work order to the warranty company on June 18th. Warranty company approved the portion they will cover. I called Air City June 19th to get an ETA. They will call me back today. No call back yet 6-23-26. Fingers crossed. I will update again when they call back. i called them back on Wed 6-24. My part is in. They scheduled me for Monday 6-29. Hope we get our AC fixed on Monday. I know my kiddos are excited. Ok it’s Monday. No one has called yet. So I just called them at 10:11 to verify they are still coming. No answer. I will try again in an hour or so. I called them at 3:00 to verify they are still coming. She told me he is heading my way soon :) 4:57 no one has called. I just tried to call. No answer. They did not show up :(. I was told the would be back out Sat July 4th. I told them that is not acceptable. I was told they will be out here Thursday July 2nd. It’s Thursday 10:00 so I called them to see if they are on the way. Mercedes said he is an hour and a half away! They came and my AC is fixed. Everyone was very nice. I am happy with the quality of work. Amazing! I wish it would have started off this way.”
“I had an older system that definitely needed replacement. I choose to buy a brand new one on Air Citys recommendation. This was absolutely a mistake im now 5 months into a nightmare I cant wake up from. Let me explain how your experience will go if you go with Air City. They will send out a service truck wrapped with a company logo and give you the false impression that when you purchase a new system, they will be the ones installing it. That is not the case they showed up in a beat up lifted truck with giant shiny rims with a damaged product inside and out. Without inspection of the new unit they cut out my old one. Did they stop and inform me when they saw that the new one was damaged absolutely not. Did they make it a horrible experience getting a replacement new product that wasn't damaged absolutely. Then to top it off they sent a guy out to replace the damaged unit that spoke no English. Shortly after installing this new unit that has Been installed by contractors with the worst professional i have ever experienced I started my 5 month repeated service call requests for my brand new unit. You will have to call to schedule your own appointments even after they do not complete the repairs on your brand new unit because why would they schedule your next appointment for a job they couldn't complete for you? It makes more sense to have the customer call and request that they schedule their appointment for the repairs that they have not been able to complete for the last three appointments. One they didn't show up for. Will they call you at any point in the day to let you know that they are running late or not coming? No thats your responsibility as a customer to sit around all day and wonder. While you sit on your thumbs for a window they will miss you can spend your time waiting for a call for an update that will never come. That's just a bonus you'll wait all day and you won't even get the courtesy of a phone call. But thats ok because you get to play the guessing game of will they send someone that is from the company or do I get a contractor that speaks no English what fun. I absolutely do not recommend you use this company. They are miss managed dishonest and just flat out not good at their jobs. I have had a decent experience with one technician but he is their field trainer. Their service department is a joke. When im done writing this im gonna call to schedule my unfinished service appointment even though their field service trainer was at my last appointment and knows the repairs have not been completed. I wish I had never done business with this company.”
“My experience with Air City AC & Heating has been extremely frustrating due to poor customer service and lack of communication. I initially filed an AC service claim through American Home Shield on April 2nd, and the issue is still unresolved. The only progress made throughout this process has been because I continuously followed up myself. Communication from the company has been inconsistent, and there appears to be no clear escalation process for unresolved issues. At one point, a work order was closed without my knowledge even though the problem had not been fixed. As a customer, I expected better coordination, transparency, and professionalism—especially when handling warranty-related service requests. Unfortunately, this experience has been disappointing and unnecessarily stressful. Based on my experience, I would not recommend this company for HVAC service needs.”
