About

Bluezone Heating & Air handles HVAC work for homes across Dallas, TX and the surrounding Dallas County area. Their crews focus on air conditioning repairs and full system checks, dealing with the heavy summer loads and occasional winter heating demands that hit this part of Texas hard. Technicians respond to calls for broken compressors, coil failures, and units that stop cooling when temperatures climb. The company keeps a small group of field hands who know local equipment brands and the common problems that come with older homes and new builds alike. Homeowners in the area turn to them when standard fixes fall short and a deeper look at the whole setup is needed.

Crews perform targeted repairs such as swapping heating coils and condensers after checking both the attic unit and the outdoor section for hidden faults. Steve has been noted for spotting issues other outfits missed during these inspections and for walking customers through diagnostics so they understand what went wrong. He also handles refrigerant top-offs on warranty parts like Lennox compressors, though one job dragged on for weeks while waiting on the parts depot in Carrollton. Stephen shows up ready to explain cost options and keeps the work moving without padding the bill. In peak heat, the same techs get systems running again by confirming the real problem first instead of guessing at parts.

Customers keep coming back because the work gets done right the first time, with clear talk on what needs fixing and what can wait. They like the straightforward approach to pricing and the fact that techs leave them smarter about their own equipment. Speed matters in Dallas summers, and most jobs move without long delays once the crew arrives. Quality shows up in the inspections that catch what others skip, and communication stays direct rather than full of sales talk. One review mentioned repeated delays on a warranty compressor job that forced a switch to another outfit. DIRT Score 3.91 from 24 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Steve from Blue Zone did a fantastic job replacing our heating coil and condenser. He came in, thoroughly inspected the entire unit in the attic and outside, and confirmed the issues that some other HVAC contractors missed. What I really appreciated was Steve’s engineering mindset—he prioritized repair over replacement. He actually quoted me a fourth of what some brand-name companies were charging. He came out quickly, made the repairs, and replaced part of the system, so now we finally have cold air running in the house. I will absolutely go to Steve again for any future HVAC needs, and I’ll be recommending him to all my friends and family!

In life you need an honest doctor, lawyer and mechanic.. and if you live in TX you need an honest AC contractor! Stephen is that contractor! Not only was he very responsive and professional, he was mindful of costs and imparted me with knowledge about AC diagnostics that I can use for years to come. Stephen is truly top of his class!

Steve came out to help in this TX heat and I am so grateful. He was professional, knowledgeable, reasonable, friendly and got my A/C back up and running!!! 5 🌟 and will 100% be calling them again for seasonal maintenance and any future A/C needs!! Highly recommend.

We had a Lennox compressor go bad under warranty and Steve was to install the part and add refrigerant. He gave me excuse after excuse about getting in touch with Lennox Parts Depot in Carrollton and, after three weeks with no action on his part and no air for us, we went with another A/C service. They got in touch with the Lennox Depot and installed the compressor within two days, and with a much less charge for coolant. Would not recommend Blue Zone.

BAIT AND SWITCH BEWARE: Called Stephen Critz on a Monday. Asked if he had R22 freon. He said he did. He also said he had a drop in freon for 25% less. I said I would like to go with R22 and scheduled for Thursday. I immediately texted him the details of our conversation and that I would like to go with R22 freon. He arrives. We say our hellos. He says "take me to the unit." I said "Did you bring R22?" He says, "Yes, well, I brought a replacement." I said that I had confirmed after our talk via text that I wanted R22. He immediately turns around and said "You don't want me here then? Ok, bye." and walks back to his truck. As he's walking back he says that R22 is 50% more than he quoted me. I said that was not our conversation. He said "Well I goofed and told you the drop in price." I said "Again, you told me drop in was a different price also." He grabs a green bottle out of his truck and said "R22 is hard to get. I brought some but I ran out." I looked at the bottle in his hands that said in huge letters R407a and told him, "That's not a bottle of R22." He stammers and said, "Oh, uh, oops, ok bye. Have a nice day." and drove off quickly. Bait and switch, raising prices on the job site and abandoning the situation immediately when I asked a question. Not trustworthy and poor business practice.
