I briefly saw him on his phone and he didn’t acknowledge me. Afterward, I was rushed out, only told they took a biopsy. No follow-up was offered, and I left with no clarity on my biopsy or hemorrhoid. I didn’t feel cared for at all.”

“I saw this Dr at his La Mesa office several months ago. He prescribed an anti biotic that was sent through the mail. I finished them and still have stomach issues so I've been calling to try and speak with ANYone in his office...out of 5-6 tries I finally got them to answer. I asked whats the next step...they didn't know & said they'd have the Dr call me back. That was 2 weeks ago! Nothing. I just tried calling AGAIN & again no one answers the phone. After receiving a diagnosis of H. Pylori again this year and exhibiting signs of potential colon cancer, I attempted to follow up with my trusted doctor, Dr. Carlton Thomas. Unfortunately, my experience with the current staff has been appalling. Two staff members, including a call center supervisor (Hymeh), made anti-LGBTQIA+ comments and displayed blatant disregard for one of their own staff, when i defended them, Carltons staff retalliated against me by kicking me out permanently! They discriminated against my disability and called it confrontational when i caught them in disrespecting LGBTQ members. This mistreatment was reported to Dr. Thomas, who initially responded with an apology and a promise to address the situation. However, despite his reassurances, the discrimination continued, and ultimately, I was informed by him that I would no longer be seen as a patient—citing baseless allegations of confrontation. UPDATE: it is 2024 sept 5th, i fought Pre cancer tumors and had a very nice UCSD GI remove them. Carlton thomas negligence now put me at risk for colon cancer more than i ever was. This is particularly devastating because I once praised this clinic for its inclusivity and compassionate care. In 2019, Dr. Thomas was instrumental in treating my medication-resistant H. Pylori, and I had full confidence in his abilities and his approach to patient care. I believed in his commitment to the LGBTQIA+ community and trusted that he would uphold those values. Unfortunately, the behavior of certain staff members contradicts the very mission Dr. Thomas publicly advocates for. Their discriminatory remarks and refusal to use correct pronouns are not just harmful but dangerous, especially for patients already battling severe health issues. It is alarming that, despite being aware of these incidents, no action has been taken to correct this culture of intolerance. I urge Dr. Carlton Thomas, a physician who I have deeply respected, to take immediate action to address the behavior of his staff. Ignoring this problem not only jeopardizes the well-being of LGBTQIA+ patients but also undermines the trust that so many have placed in him. “This is the second time I’ve seen him. He has done absolutely nothing for my stomach issues. Now they are worse and show inflammation and gastritis which he has done nothing about. I had another endoscopy in December they just let me go with problems and my follow up to it isn’t until March. This is ridiculous I’ll be finding a new doctor. This guy does nothing for you and does not listen to your problems, he’s always in a hurry . Horrid experience.”
