About

Cruz Control Heating & Air Llc runs HVAC operations for homes and businesses across Dallas, TX. They function as both a general contractor and specialty contractor with a clear focus on heating, ventilating, and air conditioning work. Notes show they cover residential and commercial projects in the Universal City area and joined a contractor network in July 2023, giving them a track record of handling system installs, repairs, and service calls in Texas heat. Homeowners in Dallas face frequent AC failures from summer loads and occasional winter heating issues, so the company stays ready for urgent fixes on condensers, drains, and thermostats without extra layers of management.

Their crews respond fast to calls about dead air conditioning units, replacing whole systems the next day when needed, or clearing clogged drains that cause outdoor leaks the same day. One job involved swapping a failed condenser on a two-unit setup during peak summer, while another addressed urgent heating repairs by swapping a thermostat on the spot. Technicians handle service calls for overflow problems and capacitor checks, showing up prepared with basic parts to get units running again without multiple trips. They keep the work direct, quoting costs upfront on replacements and sticking to the job until the system holds temperature steady.

Customers keep coming back because the team shows up quickly, explains what broke, and finishes without dragging jobs out, earning solid marks on speed and quality even when price questions come up on parts. Reviews note fair charges on full unit swaps and same-day drain fixes, along with professional conduct during installs, though a few flagged higher markups on small items like thermostats. That mix of reliable response and solid results in Dallas weather builds the overall rating. DIRT Score 4.7 from 73 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Great experience with Cruz Control. Very quick response time from him when our A/C unit stopped working. Inevitably we had to replace the unit and he was able to install the next day. The cost was fair and they were very professional.

My air conditioning unit had a clogged drain causing the outside overflow to leak water. Called Cruz Control Heating & Air and they came out that same day. Prompt response and very professional.

I had to get heating fixed urgently. Cruz took advantage of that fact and charged $325 for $100 thermostat. Could have charged me bit more than what he got the thermostat for, but charged me 3 times the original price. After all this, he also charged me SERVICE CALL FEE OF $125. Could have atleast waived that off but he had exploit in every way he can.

We had one of our two condensers replaced by them in the summer of 2022. It was a great experience. When we had recent trouble with the other condenser, we called them thinking it would be another great experience. It was anything but! The technician took it upon himself to replace the capacitor without first presenting us with the diagnosis and giving us a cost breakdown. I really feel like he should have presented all that to us BEFORE doing the work and handing us a bill. Maybe that's not how things are done anymore? I just felt like $300 for 10 minutes of work, yikes! I looked up the part online, it was a $28 capacitor.  When I asked him if he could come down a bit on his price since that mark up seemed a bit extreme, we were a repeat customer and not to mention I was ALSO paying over $1000 for 6lbs of freon...he says $250 is the best I can do. Ok, fine, be a scoundrel lol We pay them and hope we are good to go. Within 2 days the unit is acting up again. I call them back out. They check everything, say the wiring was a little loose, we. All good now they say. A couple days go by, the unit isn't working again. By now, I don't trust them and feel taken advantage of. So we call out another company. They discover that the capacitor was installed so poorly that the wires melted. (They showed it to me and it's easy to see melted wires at the connection site). When I got in touch with Cruz to let them know that their work was such low quality it resulted in that and asked if we could get a partial refund of some kind, no response. He clearly doesn't care about his reputation, providing quality work or doing what is right. Please don't use this company. We got recommended Seth Funkhouser with Apollo HVAC by the staff at Locke HVAC supply, a HVAC supply store here in town. Use Seth, he was exactly the type of technician you hope shows up when something goes wrong. Competent. Fair pricing. Everything that Cruz Air is NOT. Avoid my experience, don't use them.

Love Cruz HVAC. I got a new HVAC system! They did an amazing job. Hard working, knowledgeable, and friendly!!!
