Grove Air Service
HVAC Contractor · Dallas, TX
About
Grove Air Service operates out of Dallas, TX as an HVAC outfit that also handles electrical and plumbing jobs when homeowners call. They focus on air conditioning repairs, new unit installs, and service calls for systems that stop working in the Texas heat. From what customers report, the crew gets dispatched for everything from routine maintenance to emergency fixes at new homes, and they have shown up on short notice even during holidays. The company takes calls through a main line where messages get passed along, but follow through depends on who picks up and how the details get recorded.
Their work covers AC repairs after multiple visits to the same property, running new electrical lines, installing replacement HVAC units, and plumbing service at residential spots around Dallas. One customer in Golden Cove got hit with a one hundred forty five dollar bill after a service call that hinged on a phone number mix up off by one digit. Another homeowner described five recent repair trips where messages left with Cheryl on the phone never led to callbacks from the technicians. On the positive side, they once reached a house in thirty minutes for holiday HVAC work and handled full installs plus electrical and plumbing across multiple jobs without major equipment failures afterward.
Reviews show mixed results that drag the overall rating down, with repeated complaints about slow or missing communication after initial calls and unprofessional phone interactions that turn argumentative. Some jobs get completed to satisfaction like quick holiday responses or multi trade fixes, but others leave customers dealing with billing surprises and no follow up on repeated AC issues. The low marks cluster around consistency in how the office handles first time customers and tracks technician visits. DIRT Score 2.51 from 13 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Would NOT recommend this company to anyone! Disappointed in the lack of communication for a first time customer. The company is very unprofessional and the lady answering the phone is condescending and argumentative. She is the worst person to deal with and is not good for customer service. The company will not send a quote for the work and will do It without your consent. They did the work at our home without us telling them to start it or knowing what It would cost (bill was $2800+). Yes we were shocked as anyone would be. It still did not work after they were out there and they did not let us know It wasn’t working still when they sent the bill. We then had to call back and asked them for photos of what they had exchanged out before their second return. The owner agreed to photos then when we spoke to him before their second and then went back on his word and was argumentative and wanted to charge us to go back out to take the photos when he agreed to this request. Apparently he did not share this with the tech workers that were going back out and this is why photos were not taken of anything. Over $4000 later, no photos- we have no idea what they replaced and the work first started without our consent. This company is very unprofessional. I would NOT recommend this company for any work on your property. I have never encountered such a company in all my 50 years of unprofessionalism like I did with this company. No customer would want to be treated this way and in explaining this to them, all they had was excuses and did not care one bit how they treated a first time customer.”
“I really don’t know why the electricians do not share the same technical aptitude or professional approach at their A/C or plumbers that have helped us in the past. We have called them 5 times recently for repair work. When someone named Cheryl answers the phone, a message is taken. No one follow up or returns a call. We has a AC unit go down. Called them three times, left messages each time and nothing. Had to get another AC company out of Graham to. complete the repair which was promptly and professionally done. Then our dock water system went down. The very young electrician first called and told me that he was on his way, he never showed up. Showed up the next morning and told us that he repaired a faulty breaker. Nope. I walk outside to turn the dock lights on and the breaker was tripped. He did nothing to complete the repair. He then claimed that the sprinkler control box had power and replaced a 9 volt battery when he came back the second time. The error code on the control box was A/C No. This simply means that there is no power to the unit in direct conflict to what he told us. The breaker he claimed to repair is still tripping. Then he comes back tells us that we need a plumber. I called Groves To report the problem and spoke to Cheryl, nothing. I called a few others with homes at PK and were told that their service has gone down hill. Hope that they figure things out and take corrective measure. The electrician is no longer welcome at our home.”
“Service performed : service call ...After calling twice to try to get this company to come out to our new purchase in Golden Cove, I received a $145 bill for a service call. Claimed because my cell number was not accurate when they called me ( not the correct phone number off by the last digit) and left messages ( on the wrong number ) that that was "irrelevant" in not being able to confirm or contact me..irrelevant, was told that twice.. Last call I had when I called them. I was told they would contact me to tell me when THEY were available with their schedule, not mine as they told me...so I guess they called the wrong number and left messages..I have no way of knowing other than the staff recited my phone number on a phone call this morning.. "well. that's not my phone number, the last digit is 1 not 7" Irrelevant...Where can you call and tell a service company to come to my home on my schedule? I assume you would work with the companies schedule. I was treated without courtesy or benefit of the doubt. THEY had my wrong number, so that to them was irrelevant. That was told to me twice by the office manager. If you can;t contact the customer to confirm an appointment MOVE ON to the next customer. Maybe this is the way business is done "at the lake" but as a small business owner myself certainly would have figured out a way to be less condescending to a customer (?) on the phone...”
“I recommend Groves highly for any HVAC, electrical or plumbing issue. They have services our units, installed a new unit, run electrical for us and serviced our plumbing. We have been extremely satisfied with them after each encounter. They have been at our house in 30 minutes on a holiday when we had a plumbing emergency.”
“Words are not enough! During the awful vortex this week, they came out to check on our lakehouse and turn off water. They were so fast and responsive! We have used Groves before for electrical work and they have been so helpful. I would highly recommend this company for any electrical or HVAC service!!”
