About

Hagar Restaurant Service, Inc operates out of Dallas, Texas and focuses on HVAC work for commercial kitchens along with related equipment repairs. Local restaurants call them when systems break down or new units need installation, expecting someone to show up and sort out the problems fast. Their jobs often involve troubleshooting fryers that arrive not working, sorting double oven installs after delivery, and replacing parts on commercial machines that have failed in service. Dallas heat and heavy kitchen use mean these repairs come up often, yet the company has built a pattern of long delays and added complications when electricians get involved on the same jobs.

They handle service calls for broken fryers that sit unrepaired for over six months, double oven setups where technicians never arrive on the scheduled Monday or Tuesday, and part replacements that drag out to two months instead of the promised two or three days. Crews also get pulled in for commercial machine fixes, but reports show extra labor hours tacked on after the fact and work that leaves equipment failing again the next day. Messy jobs and repeated fees show up across multiple accounts, with customers noting that initial warranty claims get denied once other trades touch the equipment first.

Customers keep pointing to slow response times, poor quality on the actual repairs, and weak communication that leaves businesses waiting without updates or clear timelines. Price complaints center on surprise charges after delays, and the overall pattern of unfinished work has driven the low marks across dozens of jobs. This record explains the score without much variation in the feedback. DIRT Score 2.82 from 57 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Short story: After over 6 months, Hagar was unable to repair our new fryer that showed up not working out of the box. Furthermore, they said that since we had an electrician do some initial troubleshooting and replace the fuse, our warranty was void. Longer story: We were getting ready for our grand opening so when the fryer didn’t work, we called Hagar and they said it would take some parts to fix. We authorized next day air freight to get it fixed in time. But, they forgot to order the parts. Then, they forgot again. And then they forgot to air freight them. Then, only one of the parts showed up. After a couple months, the parts finally came in and they said they’d check on when a tech could come out to install them. Never called, so eventually we just took the fryer to them. They checked it in and said they’d call. But never did. Finally, 7 months after our original call, today, they said “sorry, we can’t fix it”. So we asked them to just throw it away.

The absolute worst service I've ever dealt with. I called for the install of a double oven that would delivered to me on a Monday. Was told a technician would come to install it Monday. Monday afternoon i call again; they tell me they'll get to me. No one shows up. I call again Tuesday. I'm told the call was "just placed on their desk" and that the earliest available timing would be a full week from now. I'm a fully operating restaurant that got lied to multiple times for absolutely no reason. I will never use this sad excuse of a company again

Took almost 2 months for them to get out here to service a part that they informed me would take 2-3 days. After that, they charged 2 extra hours of labor. Will never use this company again to service any of our equipment.

If you want any of your commercial machines to NOT WORK ANY MORE contact Haggar. Sad it's where corporative chooses to order parts with the worst customer service and repetitive fees. The worst is the Employee that comes in with an attitude, does the work messy then machines stop working the next day. Very BAD

If I could give this company 0 stars, I would. Terrible customer service. They never give you a time that the technician will arrive; they just pop up. They had me scheduled for a Tuesday, I asked several times for an appointment time or an appointment window so that I could make sure I was available. They said they didnt have a time. The technician literally just popped up at 8am. And he spent 10 minutes looking at my equipment to determine the problem. They tried to charge me $400 for a 10 minute service.
