About
On Point Heating & Air takes care of HVAC needs for homes in Dallas, Texas. They handle air conditioning and heating systems that must stand up to long hot summers and sudden cold snaps common in the area. The outfit focuses on getting units running right whether that means putting in new equipment, fixing breakdowns, or keeping systems in shape so they do not fail at the worst times. Crews show up for calls on everything from basic checks to bigger repairs on heat pumps and thermostats.
Technicians such as Mike handle service visits by inspecting AC units that stop cooling, tracking down the exact problem like failed parts or worn components, and laying out the fix in plain terms so homeowners know what broke and why. They perform tune-ups that include filter swaps and full system checks, replace thermostats, test air quality, and handle emergency ventilation work when needed. Customers note how Mike arrived on time for next-day appointments, diagnosed issues quickly on the spot, and walked through the steps before any work started so the job stayed clear from start to finish.
Homeowners keep coming back because the crew shows up ready, explains repairs without jargon, and gets the cooling back on without dragging things out. Reviews highlight strong marks on quality of the diagnosis work and clear communication during visits, along with fair handling of costs on bigger fixes. Speed comes through on many calls once the tech reaches the site, even when parts take time. DIRT Score 4.78 from 232 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Michael was sent out to us on Monday, 7/6 on a service call via our home warranty. Our AC was broken and Michael reported that the part we needed was on a 7 day backorder. We decided to tough it out and get a portable unit for our bedroom while we waited. Temperatures rose to 98-100 here in Waxahachie, TX that week, and we tried calling and texting both Michael and the main line Tuesday and Wednesday to ensure the part was ordered and to get an ETA/update. I texted Michael twice Wednesday (after I called and he responded via text and told me to text him) asking for an update as I’m 20 weeks pregnant and the temps outside continued to climb. He read them but did not respond. My husband also tried calling various times and left voicemails with still no answer. We ended up having to call a completely different HVAC company to come do the repair after On Point completely ghosted us. They also had the part. We were without AC from Sunday to Friday and the house temp was in the 90s. Still have not heard back from Michael or On Point. Absolutely would never recommend.”
“Extremely disappointing experience with OnPoint Heating & Air through Choice Home Warranty We had a very concerning experience with OnPoint Heating & Air after they were assigned through our Choice Home Warranty claim. 2-DAY WAIT Our AC stopped working, and we were left without air conditioning for two days while waiting for service. When the technician finally arrived, the experience immediately felt unprofessional. He arrived in a vehicle that appeared to be in poor condition, and more importantly, he never inspected our attic unit. Despite not inspecting the entire system, he concluded that our HVAC system, which is only four years old, would likely need to be completely replaced because parts were supposedly unavailable. INCORRECT DIAGNOSIS He then gave us a verbal explanation about why a full replacement was probably our only option and suggested that the home warranty company likely would not approve repairs. We were also encouraged to bypass the warranty process. When I asked for a written quote for this proposed $6,000-$8,000 replacement, I was told they do not provide written estimates. $395 vs $8000 At that point, we became very skeptical with the diagnosis and contacted a local HVAC company that we had used previously and trusted. They sent a technician within four hours. That technician diagnosed the problem in about 20 minutes and confirmed that the issue was simply a failed capacitor—a relatively minor repair and, incidentally, the same issue we had initially suspected when opening our warranty claim. Our air conditioning was repaired for $395 and is now working perfectly. No complete system replacement was necessary. JANKY BILLING The billing experience was equally confusing. We initially paid the service call fee through Choice Home Warranty, only to receive an email stating that the authorization had been voided and that payment needed to be made directly to the technician. When I asked the technician how to pay, he shrugged and told me to check my email. Later, I attempted multiple times to pay through the company’s online system, but the payments were unsuccessful. THEY DON'T LISTEN TO THE CUSTOMER When I raised concerns about the diagnosis to Irene at OnPoint, I was told that I was simply "upset" with the home warranty company’s decision, despite repeatedly explaining that my concern was with the accuracy of the diagnosis itself. Irene also accused me ghosting her even though we were texting and I explained that, due to the misdiagnosis and the unexplained payment refunds, that we need the warranty company to intervene. Even after I explained that another HVAC company had confirmed the problem was only a capacitor, I was told that there was no reason to continue the conversation unless it involved collecting the service fee. Anyway, Irene should not be in customer service. I understand that diagnoses can differ between companies. However, in our experience, OnPoint recommended replacing a four-year-old HVAC system that ultimately only required a capacitor replacement. Combined with the lack of a written estimate, the confusing payment process, and the dismissive communication afterward, this was an experience we cannot recommend.”
“Mike from On Point Heating & Air came out to inspect our AC unit, and the service was outstanding. He was prompt, professional, and clearly very knowledgeable. Not only did he quickly diagnose the issue, but he also took the time to thoroughly explain how the system works and what was causing the problem. Mike was friendly and patient in answering all of my questions. It’s clear that he knows his craft and genuinely cares about providing excellent customer service. I highly recommend Mike and On Point Heating & Air to anyone needing HVAC service. Thank you for a great experience!”
“This is a testament and a testimony. I PRAYED, then booked my appointment. Mr. Micheal came the next day on time and looked at my A/C unit. He explained in detail what was wrong, why and what was needed to fix it. Based on that I knew it was not a quick fix and the cost may be high. To some degree it was. Just over the last few days I have had several unexpected high cost expenses and adding another one was stressful not knowing how I was going to manage yet another one. Mr. Michael kindly covered payments options so that suitable and manageable payment arrangements were made. I PRAYED again. Mr. Micheal, who actually is an angel in disguise, delivered the answer to that prayer and provided a gift to me that only the love of God could have giving. On Point is more then just a service provider. Mr. Micheal showed me they truly care about their customers situations and in providing the best customer experience. I will forever be grateful for his service and on a personal note, his obedience and commitment. He "listened". I will be a customer forever😊 and will recommend his business to ALL. Its hard finding a company that is honest and has the customer best interest at heart. The tech sent to complete the job, Jose, was also on time, efficient and very polite. It took a few hours to get my A/C up in running and now it is working great. I pray many many blessing upon you and your staff Mr. Micheal.”
“On June 23rd they came out and the AC was working at the time. $75.00 charges. I was told to put in a recall and they can come out when it fails again. On June 26th the AC stopped working blowing from the outside working unit again and they couldn’t come out till July 3rd. It was working again at the time Michael came. He told me to call them directly when it stops again so they can run diagnostics when it’s actually not working. My ac stopped working 4 hours after he left at 7:58pm. I was texted back that they would request a new motor that day. July 9th My AC isn’t working again and I haven’t heard about the ordering or install of the ordered new blower motor. I texted with no response. July 13th texted for an ETA. No response. July 13th called the office and tried to tell them I was told to call them directly so they could come out but was interrupted 3 times. I was told to contact my home warranty. She called me back and said Michael will have someone out after the weather clears. b July 14th no response still. My house is 84 degrees still. I'm in medical Menopause due to cancer treatment so it's even hotter for me. I don't recommend.”
