Refrigerated Specialist, Inc
HVAC Contractor · Dallas, TX
About
Refrigerated Specialist, Inc works out of Dallas, Texas as a crew that handles commercial refrigeration under the HVAC trade. They cover the Dallas-Fort Worth area and focus on keeping cold storage and kitchen equipment running for local businesses that cannot afford long shutdowns. Their background centers on practical service calls for repair, setup, and upkeep of systems that store food and drinks, with crews responding to calls from restaurants and similar spots that rely on steady temperatures year round. Weather swings in North Texas often push these units hard, so the team stays ready for sudden failures that hit during peak hours.
They handle commercial refrigeration repair on items like fryers and coffee machines, plus full installations that protect warranties and maintenance plans to stretch equipment life. Leasing options cover ice machines without big upfront costs, and crews also manage beer systems along with trailer rentals when needed. In one case Brett Adams showed up on time and handled the full process with a steady hand that kept everything on track. Another time Mike arranged a quick fix for a coffee machine and stayed to clean it properly so it ran clean again without extra callbacks. These jobs show how they tackle diagnostic work and refrigerant issues on site to get operations back online fast.
Customers keep coming back for the on-time arrivals and clear explanations during service, along with solid fixes that hold up on busy equipment. Reviews often note the professional approach from techs who treat each call like a real fix rather than a rushed patch, which builds trust even when bills add up on complex jobs. Speed shows in how they limit downtime for kitchens, while quality comes through in thorough cleaning and adjustments that prevent repeat problems. Price feedback varies but the consistent wins on communication and results help hold the overall mark. DIRT Score 3.9 from 134 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“If I could leave negative stars, I would. Before scheduling the appointment, I clearly explained that the issue had already been diagnosed and that I simply needed the fryer repaired. Despite this, I was charged approximately $600 for a service call and diagnostics, only for the technician to confirm the exact issue I had already reported. After the diagnosis, I was told the fryer would not be repaired because the parts would cost nearly as much as a new unit. As a result, my appliance remains unfixed, and I am out $600 with no resolution. Had I been clearly informed of the diagnostic costs and that they would need to independently verify the issue before performing any repairs, I could have made a more informed decision. The lack of transparency regarding the charges and the outcome of the service was extremely disappointing. To make matters worse, the charges were processed immediately after the visit without any prior discussion of the final cost or invoice review. The entire experience felt misleading, lacked transparency, and provided no resolution to the original problem I called about. I cannot recommend this company based on my experience.”
“If I could leave (-) 10 stars about this very disappointing experience, I would. We were charged for diagnostic services, an arrival fee, refrigerant, and over 2 hours of labor, but the scope of work performed does not justify the time or cost billed. Who seriously charges an arrival fee just to get their truck/equipment to your location?! How else are you going to get the job done without your truck/equipment?! While I understand that diagnostic and service fees are standard, transparency, accuracy, and alignment between the work performed and the charges are critical — and that was lacking here. The total time billed simply does not reflect what was actually done. When we asked the technician what he was doing and why it was taking so long, he told us he was wrapping up but failed to do so immediately. He was taking his poor time moving at a snails pace as if he didn’t have anything else to do for the day or another job to get to. He even spoke slowly. But now I realize it was for the purpose of stretching out the time to generate a higher invoice for billable labor hours. Overall, this felt overpriced and poorly executed. We expected a more professional and transparent experience. Based on this, we will not be doing business with this company again and would not recommend their services to any other business or individual. Stay away unless you want to pay an ungodly amount for their subpar service and experience which lacks full transparency.”
