Taulbee, Vernon
HVAC Contractor · Dimmit County, TX
About
Vernon Taulbee handles HVAC work across Dimmit County, Texas, where ranch homes and small properties face brutal summer heat mixed with dust from the surrounding oil fields and farmland. The crew deals with the daily reality of keeping air conditioners running when temperatures climb past 100 degrees for weeks on end and heating systems must kick in during rare winter freezes. Taulbee focuses on straightforward repairs and installations that match the needs of local homeowners who cannot afford downtime on their cooling equipment. His approach comes from years of seeing the same problems repeat in this dry, windy stretch of South Texas.
The team shows up for compressor replacements when units quit during the worst heat, cleans coils packed with fine dirt, and swaps out thermostats that fail after years of constant use. They run new duct lines in older houses where original setups leak air into attics and fix refrigerant leaks that leave families sweating through the night. Work often starts with a quick diagnosis on site, followed by clear options on parts and labor so owners know what the job will cost before anything gets opened up. Calls get answered fast even in peak season, and the crew keeps explanations simple so everyone understands the steps.
Homeowners keep coming back because the crew answers calls promptly and explains each step without extra jargon. That steady communication shows up in the feedback even when schedules get tight during peak season. Customers note solid results on quality and speed for the price, with few repeat visits needed after the first fix. The result is a record built on repeated jobs done right the first time rather than callbacks. DIRT Score 4.78 from 771 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“I see good reviews, but I can only rate my experience. It took over 50 minutes to make 2 burgers and 1 order of fries. I asked if there were vegetables on the ‘Shorthorn’ and was told no, “just a side salad”. My burger was covered in onions. Maybe they think onions are a fruit!? I saw a reply on another review about how fresh their beef is, but I can tell you what’s not fresh, and that’s their fries. They were stale, cold, and unseasoned. This place might’ve been good at one time, but judging by everyone around us, they’re slow and mess up everyone’s orders. Burgers were good, but definitely not worth the wait.”
“The burger was good, but nothing special. French fries were nothing to write home about. I thought the food was overpriced. We were over $24 for two burgers fries and drinks. I can get equally good food at local burger places for under $20, closer to $15.”
“Took 40 minutes for a bacon cheese burger and cheese balls and they overcooked the cheese balls until they were a hard shell with no cheese inside. The burger was tasty but I won't go for lunch again because of the 40 minutes it takes to get your food. The staff was polite and friendly.”
“Texas best kept secret. Bevo"s is located in the middle of Vernon, TX. Found a good mix of locals having wholesome conversations and enjoying what's probably the best food in a 200-mile radius. Everyone was friendly and greetings from everyone. I had the Longhorn (double open face burger with Tx chili), and it was phenomenal! The fries were perfect and were still sizzling out of the fryer. Washed down by a diet Dr. Pepper. I just loved the fresh lettuce and tomatoes.”
“I walked in and asked about a chili cheese burger and no bun. Some places still give people a hard time over orders like that. Not Bevo's. They said, "Sure, no problem" and took my order. They warn you they are not a fast food place and they aren't. No sad burgers here or a pile of lonely fries sitting there, feeling rejected, waiting for someone to order. It's all cooked when ordered. So... it does take longer. But it tastes better too. Would recommend. I still recommend this place. However, it needs to be clear that if you order the master blaster, it is NOT a grilled cheese with a hamburger patty. It is a giant hamburger made between two grilled cheese sandwiches.”
