Southwest Chimney Sweeps Inc
HVAC Contractor · El Paso, TX
About
Southwest Chimney Sweeps Inc works in El Paso, TX on HVAC projects that involve chimneys and air ducts in houses around the city. The dry weather out there leads to plenty of buildup in vents and fireplaces from dust and regular use. Crews get called in to clean these systems so air flows better and heating stays safe through the seasons. They deal with both routine maintenance and fixes when things clog up or need checking before colder months hit. Homeowners reach out for help with dryer vents that stop working right and fireplaces that need a full look over to burn without issues.
In their HVAC work they go into homes to clear out blocked dryer ducts that stop air from moving. One time they cleaned a bad clog but then started changing the vent on the dryer to a cheaper one without permission. They also clean and certify wood burning fireplaces with long sessions that get everything out, taking time to cover floors and keep the living room spotless while answering questions along the way. The techs call ahead to give arrival updates like fifteen minutes away and show up ready. Alex Dimitri and Leroy did a full duct cleaning from the moment they arrived until they left, with customers noting the job got handled right even if the price sat on the high side.
Customers give high marks when the work is thorough and the crew acts professional, like with on time arrival and careful floor protection during long cleanouts. Some note the price runs high but the job lasts. Others point out problems when techs do extra work without asking or when inspections fall short of what was needed for safe use. The mixed feedback lands at that score. DIRT Score 3.28 from 37 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Had this company clean out the dryer duct at my apartment which was clogged bad. They did a good job and provided a good service, however they began to take my dryer vent on the back of my dryer and hook up another cheaper vent to the dryer. This was not asked of them and they tried to play it off as if they knew what’s best. They were asked not to take my vent I had installed and then left my equipment, but decided to take one of my hose clamps. Yes it’s a $4 dollar part, but it’s my $4 part not theirs. They agreed to return the hose clamp the next time they had a service in my area. I don’t know how they’d feel if I entered their home, tried to take aluminum and then take a part anyway and just return it whenever. If I was the owner of this business I’d have my technician drive back and return my property immediately. Really? Just goes to show they don’t care about the customer, they care about money. I used to be a tech, and never stole anything out of the hundreds of homes I serviced. They have lost my business and try them at your own risk. At least keep an eye on the techs”
“I hired Southwest Chimney to clean and certify my wood burning fireplace. The technician arrived right on time and spent 2.5 hours doing a very thorough clean of my very dirty fireplace! He answered all of my questions and took great care to cover the floors to keep my living room clean. Rose at the main office is great, and I had an awesome experience from the time of scheduling through the completion of work. I’d highly recommend this company and will use them again in the future.”
“I usually do not write bad reviews but I am extremely disappointed with this company. I was wanting my chimney and fireplace inspected to burn a wood fire and if it was safe. The tech called me to inform he was 15 minutes out which I appreciated. I was at work and my daughter was at my house to let the tech inside. I received a call 1 hour later that the job was complete and he needed to be paid. Never did he call me with a service estimate on the work needed or what he was going to do. He just called after the job was done. I had many questions to ask and he seemed to busy to answer. He just said my fireplace was safe to burn wood and to open the damper. No explanation of what he actually did. Just, "I need $270.00". I paid the bill. Last night I opened the damper and built a wood fire in my fireplace. My house filled with smoke and every room now smells like a campfire. The wood was not green or damp...but the chimney is not working and my fireplace IS NOT safe. Very disappointed in their service and professionalism. I feel duped and this company was a total waste of money.”
“Alex Dimitri and Leroy did a fantastic job cleaning my ductwork. Finally a company that cares about doing the job right . From the time they arrived till they left they were professionals. Pricing was a little high but you pay for what you get. I would highly recommend this company and will definitely use them in the future.”
““I had an excellent experience with Southwest Chimney and Stove and Air Duct Cleaning. The entire process took about 45 minutes, and the technician was thorough, professional, and efficient. While the cost is fair, you truly can’t put a price on safety. What impressed me most was the technician’s attention to detail. They not only cleaned and inspected the chimney but also pointed out necessary repairs, explaining why they were needed. This level of communication helped me understand the process and the importance of proper chimney maintenance. Overall, I highly recommend this company—10 out of 10 for their professionalism and quality of service!” 1/10/2025”
