Advantage Services
HVAC Contractor · Fort Worth, TX
About
Advantage Services operates out of Plano, Texas, where they focus on HVAC repairs and maintenance for local homes. The area sees extreme summer heat that strains cooling systems along with sudden winter freezes that can damage pipes and components connected to heating and cooling setups. Homeowners often call when an AC quits during peak temperatures or when a heating line fails after cold snaps, and the company dispatches technicians to handle those urgent calls on both residential equipment and related appliances that tie into the same systems.
They take on jobs like restoring cooling after an AC unit stops working, replacing parts such as blower motors, and addressing freeze damage to outdoor pipes that affect overall performance. In one case a technician named Dillon reached a burst pipe site within ninety minutes and completed the repair in under two hours while Richard coordinated the scheduling and payment details. Other calls have involved refrigerator cooling problems where a technician quoted around five hundred dollars, collected a deposit, and performed work that left the top section overly cold, or AC repairs that replaced a blower motor at a cost of thirteen hundred dollars only for a later full diagnostic to identify an undetected refrigerant leak instead.
Some customers highlight fast response times on emergency repairs and note that the owner will step in to correct problems when contacted directly about service shortfalls. At the same time repeated issues with pinpointing the actual cause of cooling or heating failures have led to extra expenses and follow up work by other companies, which has kept the rating from climbing higher despite those positive interventions on individual jobs. What Customers Say
“I had an outside pipe burst from the recent freeze, and found these guys on thumbtack. They were here within 90 minutes and had me fixed up in less than 2 hours. The tech, Dillon, was friendly, professional, and knowledgeable. The same can be said for Richard who handled the scheduling and payment. Price wasn’t cheap, but fair, given the circumstances and promptness of the resolve. Wouldn’t hesitate to use them again!”
“Mr. Richard came to my house to fix a refrigerator that was not chilling. He came to inspect it and quoted me about $500.00 and I gave him half so he could order the part. He then returned to "fix" the fridge. After he left, the refrigerator was super cold and everything in the top area was frozen and there was a constant leak coming out from a side of the refrigerator. He returned and blamed it on the part he had just installed. He had to return to fix the fridge, and in moving the fridge, he produced several marked scratches on my wooden floor on a very visible area. I reached out to him after he told me he would reach out to his insurance company and he replied, via email, refusing to fix it saying it was my fault and that his insurance would not cover the damage. I am disappointed to report that my fridge is still not working properly. Do not hire this person to do any repairs. He does not offer customer service. I will complain to the BBB. I am sorry I called him. UPDATE: Now, December, 2024, my fridge is still not chilling properly. My veggies freeze if left in the drawer and things left in back of fridge freeze as well. Im now seeing water leaking out of bottom of fridge. I have decided that it is time o purchase a new unit. In conclusion, Mr Richard never fixed my fridge AND he only scratched my floor. Do not use his “services”. You will not be satisfied.”
“I used Advantage Service when my AC stopped cooling, which cost me $1300. The blower motor was replaced, but the system failed to cool. The next day, I hired another HVAC company. They performed a full system diagnostics, which revealed the real issue to be a refrigerant leak. I later learned low refrigerant should be one of the first things checked, costly lesson learnedI I recommend asking for full diagnostics before approving repairs. I’m sharing this to help others make informed choices.”
“I had issues with the service and I contacted the office, spoke to the owner and he made things right! Ask for the owner and give him a chance to fix things if you are not satisfied with the service you received.”
“I had service done in March on the fridge and then service done on dishwasher in April. The services guys were on time, very friendly, and knowledgeable. The person I contacted for services was friendly and got me serviced quickly. Recently I realized I had lost one of the invoices and reached out to Advantage to for a copy of it and they immediately provided me with a copy. I might have gotten service done cheaper, but it was worth the quality service this company provided. I highly recommend this company. Thank you,”
