About

Around The Clock Air Conditioning & Htg works out of Houston, TX doing HVAC jobs for both houses and commercial spots. They fix air conditioners that quit blowing cold air and put in new units when the old ones fail. Houston weather means systems run hard all summer long with high humidity and heat that can push indoor temps way up if something breaks. Homeowners call them for after hours help when the house gets too warm by evening. The outfit takes on installations that other crews turn down because of timing. They cover repairs on residential systems and bigger replacements on commercial setups where downtime costs money.

They handle service calls where a unit stops cooling and the house hits 85 degrees by 7:30 at night. In one case the owner showed up with a technician to get it running without charging extra for the late hour. For commercial work they installed a 20 ton unit at a business in July and had it going in seven days when others said mid September. These jobs involve checking compressors, replacing parts, and making sure everything runs right in the tough local conditions. Crews also deal with older homes that need quick fixes to avoid bigger failures during peak heat.

Customers sometimes note fast arrivals on no cool calls and solid commercial installs that beat expected timelines. Other feedback points to service calls turned down that led to water damage and mold issues costing thousands plus inconsistent handling on repeat work like light installs where pricing changed without notice. The mixed results on reliability and follow through explain the lower overall rating. DIRT Score 2.21 from 10 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

I highly recommend this company. My A/C was not blowing cold air, the house was 85 degrees when I got home at 7:30pm. I called and the owner and a technician came out to fix the problem. I was not charged an after hours service call fee, like most companies charge. The owner and technician were polite, professional and fixed the issue. Dispatched called the next day to verify everything was working and the house had cooled down. Will use them for any A/C problem in the future. Thank you!

I needed a commercial 20 ton unit installed at my business. The other guys I've dealt with told me they could not get to it until mid September. (This was in July). I got a hold of Around The Clock, and the unit was installed and working within 7 days. Blew my mind! The work they did was fantastic, and they were also less expensive than the other folks I was going to use. And during the same time, I had a unit acting up at another place, and they got over there and fixed it the same day I told them. I would highly recommend them for both service and new installation based on this experience.

All I can say is thank you for telling me you couldn't do a service call. It was the best thing that could of happened. Now all your company's mistakes are fixed because another company came and fixed. minus the 7-10k worth of damage from water and mold. Just a warning this company will leave you stuck in the mud with no rope. Please do your research this is a fly by night company the owner is never at work. The office person works from her cell phone in her car as she is driving. I was told by the owner to call another company that they had to much going on right now.

This company is not fair. They operate a side business called Christmas D'Lights. I have had my Christmas lights installed on my house since 2010. For three years I was always offerered the same pricing since I was a returning customer. Last year, due to multiple surgeries and restrictions on lifting heavy objects, I informed the woman who called (Lucy), that I would not be able to put out lights that year but to please call me next year (2014). Low & behold, they never call me but I noticed that my neighbors down the street had lights installed on their houses. When I checked with one of my neighbors, he confirmed that a new company (Around the Clock AC), had taken over the installation of lights from the previous company (EnviroTech) and also confirmed that the price he was charged was the same as it's always been every year. So I found my invoice for 2 of last three years and called up Around the Clock (aka Christmas D'Lights), and was told by their front office receptionist that the owner said they could install my lights for the increased rate of $300. Previously I paid $219 to have my lights installed and when I inquired as to why I would now have to pay extra, she said it was because they had to "break down" my lights (since I didn't use them last year), and that they would have to start all over again. Funny how the original company had to start from nothing and yet they were able to provide a service for $219 yet Around the Clock saw this as an opportunity to be greedy and decided they could pull a fast one and jack up my price if I wanted to use them. The receptionist I spoke with said she would ask her "other boss" (I guess that's John) and would let me know if they could match the price. She never called me back so when I called them two days later, the owner's wife got on the line (Jessica Young), and was very curt and unprofessional and spoke over me and said that they just weren't going to honor the old price and that's THAT! She also had the audacity to say that when they install lights, their jobs typically run around the $1000 range. Well then why did you buy out this other companies existing customer list if you're only going to bend them over by charging higher rates? She also tried to say that materials have gone up and that they have to pay more which is total B.S. since they buy their supplies at wholesale. She didn't like it when I called her out on it. Bottom line, if you're looking for someone to install and remove Christmas lights for your home this season, I would suggest by-passing these folks and find someone who is honest and fair and gives better customer service and actually cares about getting your repeat business cause these guys couldn't give two flips!

My experience was really good he fixed my problem in a jiffy and came right out after hours
