Heritage Air And Heat Llc
HVAC Contractor · Garland, TX
About
Heritage Air and Heat LLC works out of Rockwall County, Texas, as a local HVAC outfit that handles air conditioner repair and furnace repair for homes and businesses. They keep regular hours during the week with shorter Saturday shifts and stay open for calls around the clock when systems break down in the middle of the night or on weekends. The crew takes on jobs for all equipment brands and focuses on getting heating and cooling back online without dragging things out. Homeowners in the area often deal with Texas heat pushing units hard, so quick response to no-cool calls or weak furnace performance forms the core of what they handle day to day.
Technicians show up for refrigerant leak checks, indoor coil inspections, and full system diagnostics when an air conditioner stops blowing cold air. On warranty jobs they have diagnosed leaks in the coil and told owners the coils need replacement after a short look. Multiple trips happen on the same unit when the first visit does not confirm the fix by running the system long enough to measure output. They also handle furnace service calls when heat fails during cold snaps and work on programmable thermostats plus indoor air quality add-ons to keep utility bills lower. The approach centers on showing up, opening the equipment, and quoting the repair or new parts needed right then.
Feedback from customers points to mixed results on quality and communication, with some jobs requiring repeat visits before the cooling issue stays fixed and others noting rushed checks that left the unit still underperforming. Price discussions come up often when coils get flagged as bad right away, and speed varies depending on how many calls stack up. These patterns across the reviews shape the overall rating for the Rockwall County HVAC provider. DIRT Score 3.68 from 234 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“They don't even deserve one star. Home warranty give the job to them and they do crap. Instead of fixing my AC they ruin it! The technician just do whatever, doesn't even want to check and wait to see if the AC actually blowing cool air. Instead he said "I don't have time to wait." They came 3x and nothing fix. This is summer time! They should stop doing AC business because they don't even do know how to fix AC correctly!”
“This was one of the most frustrating and poorly handled HVAC experiences I’ve ever dealt with. In May 2025, American Home Shield sent Heritage AC to diagnose a refrigerant leak in my system. At that time, they told me the leak was in the indoor coil. Fast forward to May 2026 — the same issue comes back, and AHS sends the SAME company again. This time, Heritage AC completely changes their story and claims the leak was never in the coil, but actually in the outdoor unit. The technician then tells me verbally that they “fixed it” and that all I needed was refrigerant. At this point, I would be very skeptical of using American Home Shield at all. They have shown there is essentially no accountability or recourse when the subcontractors they send out fail to properly diagnose or fix an issue. Here’s the problem: I was given ZERO documentation. No detailed work order, no explanation of what was repaired, replaced, or even inspected — just word of mouth. I called Heritage multiple times asking for a written report of the work performed. Nothing. No response, no paperwork, no accountability. Because of the inconsistent explanations and lack of documentation, I hired a separate HVAC company at my own expense to verify what was actually done. They found the issue had NOT been properly fixed. They replaced a faulty valve in the outdoor unit, added refrigerant, and the system worked immediately. That cost me $850 out of pocket. When I contacted American Home Shield and explained that their contractor gave conflicting diagnoses a year apart, failed to document any repairs, and clearly didn’t resolve the issue, I was told there was nothing they could do except refund my $100 service fee. So let me get this straight: • The same vendor misdiagnoses the issue • Changes their explanation a year later • Provides zero documentation of any repair • Doesn’t actually fix the problem • And I’m left paying hundreds of dollars to have another vendor come out and service and actually replaced the defective part. That is completely unacceptable. At a minimum, I expect transparency and proper documentation when work is claimed to be completed. Instead, I got shifting explanations and no proof that anything was actually repaired. I would strongly caution anyone considering using this company or relying on American Home Shield to demand detailed documentation and verify the work independently. Otherwise, you may end up in the same situation — paying out of pocket for something that should have been handled correctly the first time.”
“2 minutes ago I am writing this to warn other homeowners and specifically American Home Shield (AHS) customers about this company's predatory business practices. The Issue: I had them out to diagnose an AC unit issue. After a brief look, they claimed the coils were bad and that I needed a significant amount of refrigerant, quoting me a total of $2,000 for the repair. The Second Opinion: Because the diagnosis felt off, I called a different company for a second opinion. It took the second technician only 15 minutes to fix the real issue: a faulty $20 part. My AC was back up and running immediately for a fraction of the cost this company quoted. Communication & Service: Beyond the dishonest diagnostic, their customer service is non-existent. They do not answer their phones and have ignored multiple text messages regarding my service request. It is baffling that AHS continues to use them as a vendor when they are clearly overcharging both the customers and the home warranty company. Verdict: This company is shady and unreliable. If they are assigned to your claim, I strongly recommend requesting a different vendor immediately. Stay far away.”
“If I could give 0 stars I would. Please, please read the reviews below and believe them. I can’t understand how these people are still in business. I, like many reviewers here had an AHS warranty on a home we purchased and got assigned Heritage. They came in September and again in April. The April fix was a new coil which they installed and we had to pay $1,500 for coolant out of pocket. They warranty the labor for 90 days (let that be a hint). It’s July and guess what’s leaking because it was not installed properly and now all the coolant has leaked out? We basically paid for nothing. I called and asked them to please consider reimbursing us the coolant money at least since it was their mistake and we have never heard from them. If we ever hear from them I will update review. We had a reputable company come out and they could not believe the hack job that was done on the coil in our attic. The pipes were not even installed correctly so that water was not able to drain properly (thankfully it never overflowed and flooded). I attached a photo with a level so you can see the slant. They never trimmed any metal so that the parts from the transition never matched up to the coil box. When they welded pieces together they never tightened up other pieces so the coolant leaked out and caused it to freeze up. There was inches of ice on the coil. Tools were left in the attic and tons of garbage that we needed to dispose of. Not only that but the condenser is leaking and it’s obvious it has been leaking for a long time which was never diagnosed. I attempted to call again asking to speak with owner or manager hoping that maybe they subcontracted this work out and could come and see what had been done. Again if I hear from them I will update review.”
“Absolutely the worst less experienced team I’ve ever seen in my life. They’re absolutely terrible, if you use AHS, then PLEASE ask them to assign a different company for you. They got the out of pocket costs DOUBLE the market price.”
