Nickelson Air Llc
HVAC Contractor · Gun Barrel City, TX
About
Nickelson Air Llc works out of Kaufman County, Texas, handling HVAC jobs for homes around Cedar Creek Lake. The crew has kept at this trade since 1988, staying licensed, bonded, and insured to cover the usual risks that come with the work. They run calls day and night with techs ready every hour of every day, and they make same day visits when the call comes in. Local houses rely on them for heat and cooling fixes in a place where summers hit hard and systems get pushed through long stretches of use.
The company sends techs like Kelly and Caleb to handle AC units that stop blowing cold air, low freon levels, and pin hole leaks in outside condenser coils. They check systems on the spot, swap in new thermostats when needed, and track down problems that leave houses too warm inside even when set low. Same day or emergency visits mean they show up fast, replace parts to keep things going until a warranty item arrives, and finish the repair without dragging it out over multiple days. Homeowners get the work done on units that freeze up or quit altogether, with the crew staying until the air flows right again.
Customers keep pointing to how fast the techs reach the house, often inside an hour or even twenty minutes, along with solid fixes at prices that feel fair for the job. They note the crew stays in touch, hunts down the real issue instead of guessing, and steps in with temporary parts so kids or families do not stay uncomfortable. Speed, quality repairs, and straight talk on cost show up again across the reviews. DIRT Score 4.44 from 70 reviews on Finds.

“If I could give this company a zero rating i would! they cleaned out my ac on the outside, and changed batteries in my thermostat charged me some $$$ for it and it is actually cooler outside than inside now! my ac freezes up, its 80 degrees in my house with it set to 60 (see pic for proof). they did this yesterday I called them twice today and left vm both times. I have an infant at my house and its ridiculous thank goodness the other grandma lives near so he is in the cool ac. but that's not the point these guys should NOT have a 4.4 rating! will never call them to come again, I will take the loss and call their competitors. 0 star rating from thos house!”
“We made a call to Nickelson heating and air when we noticed our ac wouldn't blow cold air. Caleb came to my house the following day. There was absolutely no freon in our unit. He began looking for a leak. Several hours later he found a tiny pin hole in the outside condenser coil. He could have easily given up and called it a day. However he took the necessary time to repair it and saved the day. He made sure the repair was going to work before leaving. We appreciate the hard work, the attentiveness, and the speed in which our ac got fixed. I will always call Nickelson heating and air!! Thank you”
“Update: Since being ghosted by Nickelson Heating and Air, I called another HVAC company who properly diagnosed the problem as an incorrect install setting in the thermostat. If I'd have gone with Nickelson, we'd have replaced a perfectly good motor and would still have had the original problem. Glad that didn't work out. The bottom line is either Nickelson was trying to pull a fast one or they don't know what they're doing. In either case, they didn't handle it professionally at all. I averted a service disaster and I'm reporting it here so you don't have one either. Their initial response and service visit was good, but after telling me the parts were ordered and would be here in two days, they went silent - didn't answer my calls or emails. No explanation, no nothing. This was for a job in the neighborhood of $900. Oddly unprofessional. I'll be hiring someone else to finish what they started. In response to the owner -- I have the right business. The technician's name was Caleb. He was fine, however, when I asked for a bid that broke out parts and labor, I got silence. I had an email exchange with Kelly. She did not itemize the bid. When I asked her to itemize, she went silent. My calls and emails have not been returned. Because I requested an itemized bid, Nickelson Heating and Air is willing to pass on a ~$900 job. I don't know what to say to that other than the job has to go to someone else.”
“Contacted Nickelson A/C on Sunday 26 May to check and repair our A/C. The tech arrived and said the control panel needed to be replaced in the future with an estimated cost of $500-$700, but we should be fine during the interim. $250.00 and two hours later the system went out! We called and left multiple messages; to no avail. Moreover, the tech brought down from the attic a bunch of insulation. Talk about disregard for property! Would have taken two minutes to clean up after himself. As of this review, we've yet to hear back. Thankfully, there are better options for A/C service. Choose wisely! Update: We've heard back from the owner who apologized for the tech; not returning calls, not keeping us informed. He also refunded the $250.00. We're updating our review from one star to three. Thank you sir, for the call.”
“Central heat/air unit went out, Kelly and his crew had a new unit installed the next day. No hassles, good prices and excellent service. Highly recommend this place.”
