Caprock Plumbing & Repair Inc
HVAC Contractor · Hale County, TX
About
Caprock Plumbing & Repair Inc works out of Hale County, Texas, with their main base in the Plainview area. They focus on HVAC service for homes and businesses across this stretch of West Texas, where cold snaps and hot summers put real strain on heating and cooling systems. The crew lives right there in the community, handling residential heat and air jobs plus some plumbing that ties into the same equipment. Their techs carry state certifications for air conditioning, heating, refrigeration, and related work, and they stick with Bryant equipment that meets energy standards. This setup lets them cover both quick fixes and bigger installs without pulling in outside crews.
They handle propane conversions by running fresh gas lines, swapping out old hot water heaters, and changing over heating units so customers stay warm overnight during the switch. When a grooming salon had its plumbing wrecked by someone else, the team stepped in to straighten it out fast and get things running again. Furnace breakdowns get the same treatment, with techs like Layton showing up early after a late-night call and Tillman driving to Lubbock for parts to restore heat before noon. They also manage commercial heat and air along with energy management work, showing up prepared for whatever the local weather throws at the systems.
Customers keep mentioning how fast the crew moves on emergency heat calls and how they finish jobs right without cutting corners, which builds solid marks for speed and quality. A few reviews point out solid communication once the techs arrive on site, though some delays and rough phone handling drag down the overall numbers. Price feedback stays steady on fair rates for the work done in this rural county. DIRT Score 3.28 from 32 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“We live in the country and our Nat.gas co. Was closing down our gas line. We were being converted over to propane. New gas lines were run, hot water heaters replaced, and the heating unit was changed over. Work was started one day and finished the next. Over night they made sure we had heat and hot water. The young men working at our home were polite and knowledgeable. When we asked questions they were all willing to explain what was going on. We highly recommend Caprock Plumbing”
“Made a mistake and hired an individual who messed up all the plumbing for our grooming salon. Called Caprock and they came to the rescue! Very professional and quick, super friendly and understanding. I'll call them before anyone else from now on!”
“Our leasing agent has contacted this company on our behalf. She states that whomever takes the calls is extremely rude each time she has dealt with her. We have waited a week for them to come out to move our water heater. Not once did they contact us to let us know that they were delayed! She was told it is because they only had 5 employees and they would get to us soon. We called back again today and was told they could finally come out to move it, but could not return for at least a couple more days to move it back to where it needs to be, so that the electricians could do their part. It's a good thing we did not need water heater to shower!!! I noticed your company has responded to another review with an excuse as well. Please let it be noted that I did NOT state in my review that it was an emergency or that we were without hot water to shower with or in the use of our kitchen. If that were the case, we would have chosen another company had they been available. My review is only stating that we were simply inconvenienced. I am sure you can understand how frustrating it can be. We have busy schedules and need to know when to be home to accommodate your employees...a simple call would have been nice. In the future I recommend you keeping in contact with your customers, so that they are not inconvenienced. Great customer service goes a long way! I also recommend that you NOT mock your customers with quotation marks as it is NOT professional in anyway. It is also "extremely rude" and shows your true colors. Nor should you call me a liar by stating that my review is imprecise as Kathy is only being professional. You should take notes. There are MANY people in Plainview that have made similar remarks about your company. They simply do not post them all. l did find similar reviews as mine elsewhere, but I suppose they too are lacking accuracy... I do however appreciate your quick response to my review. It would have been even better if your service was just as fast! Thank you and have a great day!”
“I contacted Caprock at night because our furnace went out. Layton was here the first thing in the morning. Tillman drove to Lubbock to get parts. They had our heat back before noon. This is a great business. I highly recommend them.”
“Our electric tankless water heater was not heating water. Plumber came and told us unit was not big enough. Recommended gas tankless or traditional water heater and left. I was able to contact manufacturer of our electric water heater. Turns out elements needed to be cleaned...representative sent cleaning instructions...works like a charm now. I called Caprock Plumbing and explained situation that plumber had done absolutely nothing during service call. She could do nothing but to tell me to send payment of $72 for service call. I will never use this company again and would never recommend to anyone else. Bad service as well as customer service.”
