“2026-0518 I was on Amazon looking for a "Soft-Start" kit for my 22 year old residential A/C compressor. My search led me to the manufacturer and they in-turn said we have local a representative that can install it for you. I called Air Star Now (here in Houston, Tx), they came out, looked at my unit, and the man said "I don't recommend modifying your unit - it has served you twice as long as expected." OK, (knowing that I'm on borrowed time with the original builder-grade A/C System) I ask for a quote to replace the entire gas heat/central air system (inside and out). My Wife and I discussed it, and accepted their quote for complete system change out and 10 year labor warranty (American Standard is the system manufaturer). We got scheduled for a Monday install and Mr. Manuel Ramirez and his crew rolled up and were moving fast. I was impressed that the first thing they did (as they entered the house) was to roll out non-slip canvas floor protection on the floor, up the stair treads, and all around the 2nd floor closet area housing the blower, heater, and evaporator (cooling coil). The inside team impressed me - (everybody arrived with company shirts) the tasks were done in a sequence that minimized time, effort, and interference with the next guy. Nobody had to be told what to do, and each watched out for the other as help was needed. The outside team went after the old compressor/condensor (removed the R-22 freon, disconnected the copper lines and electrical, removed the old unit and replaced the ground pad), and then installed the replacement. All the while any and all trash and debris were collected (no worries about mowing the grass later). They completed the install in 6 hours (from the time they arrived to the time the truck door slammed close as they left) and that included demonstrating the cooling, heating, and fan control. Two days later, I had questions about the unit's operation. I called, left my info, and within a half hour got a call back setting up a return visit (by Mr. Ramirez and his assistant). They adjusted the fan speed programming to my request and added more sound dampening matt to my return air plenum (Wife is happy - I am happy). I have no problem reccomending Air Star Now.”
