About

Atlas Heating & A/C Company works out of Abilene, Texas, where they handle heating and cooling jobs for local homes. Based at 1281 Bell Plains Rd, the crew takes on the full range of HVAC needs that come with the area's extreme summer heat and occasional cold snaps. They deal with everything from full system replacements to routine upkeep, helping homeowners keep air moving properly through ducts and units that often struggle under Texas conditions. The company stays focused on practical fixes that match what houses in Abilene actually require day to day.

They perform pre-install surveys to plan swaps like pulling out separate 3-ton and 3.5-ton systems for one 5-ton Carrier Infinity Greenspeed heat pump with zoning, as Timothy has done on consult visits. Freddie and his crew have installed pairs of 3-ton Carrier units while rebalancing ductwork to fix weak bedroom airflow. Brian handles bi-yearly checkups that include full system inspections and service, showing up on time and finishing without leaving messes. Tommy works with customers on initial inspections before new installs, and the team posts clear upfront pricing along with straightforward videos that explain options before any work starts.

Homeowners keep coming back because the technicians arrive when promised, finish jobs without dragging things out, and deliver solid results on both big replacements and simple tune-ups. Reviewers note the clean work habits, fair costs shown ahead of time, and the way crews like Brian's build real trust through repeated service calls. This steady performance across speed, quality, and communication adds up to strong marks from the full set of feedback. DIRT Score 5.0 from 88 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

A Masterclass in HVAC Engineering, Building Science, and Total Comfort! Initial Survey: This visit was for a pre-install consult. I intend to remove a 3-ton and a 3.5-ton HVAC system and replace them with a single 5-ton Carrier Infinity Greenspeed heat pump with three zones. Timothy was prompt, friendly, asked the right questions and listened to my answers. He wanted to understand what my expectations are with respect to temperature, humidity, and indoor air quality. We walked my home, went into the attic, and outside to the condenser units. He wanted to see everything so he and his team could design my system and plan a schedule to implement the plan correctly. Overall Experience: My wife Lisa and I recently hired Atlas AC Repair to execute a massive, highly-engineered project for our 3,300 sq. ft. home in League City. We tasked them with consolidating two older attic systems (a 3-ton and a 3.5-ton) into a single 5-ton Carrier Infinity Greenspeed dual-fuel system with three zones. Because we had recently optimized our thermal envelope with R-49 cellulose, a radiant barrier, air sealing, and integrated a 15.4 kW solar system with three Tesla Powerwalls, we needed a team that truly understood building science and could deliver a data-driven solution. Atlas absolutely delivered, and the entire crew—including Tommy, Pete, Kenneth, Timothy, Israel, and Freddi—were fantastic. Tommy was incredibly patient and collaborative as we worked through multiple estimate revisions to lock in the exact variable-speed Heat Pump and 97% modulating gas furnace configuration we needed to maximize our solar investment. When the initial numbers looked off, Timothy and Kenneth dug into the engineering details and provided a revised Manual J load calculation. By correctly adjusting the software parameters to account for the Greenspeed’s unmatched dehumidification capabilities, they proved mathematically that a 5-ton system was a perfect fit for our upgraded home. Freddi’s thorough duct survey in the attic ensured our custom plenums and the four newly added upstairs return ducts would easily handle the required airflow. What truly stood out during this two-day installation was the exceptional on-site leadership. Kenneth was incredibly present and proactive, ensuring that lessons learned from previous jobs were directly implemented here to elevate the quality of our installation. It was also wonderful to watch the on-the-spot, "just-in-time" training provided by Israel and overseen by Kenneth to create new supervisors. Seeing this mentorship in real-time ensures that any tribal knowledge becomes part of the organization's ethos and is a true testament to Atlas AC Repair's commitment to continual quality improvement and investing in their tradesmen. The results are nothing short of life-changing for our family, and the Carrier Infinity zoning capabilities are phenomenal. Last night, for the first time ever, Lisa and I were able to set our bedroom thermostat to 68 degrees. Normally, my live-in mom cannot tolerate it being that cool, but because our rooms are now zoned separately, she can sleep comfortably at her own desired temperature. Furthermore, our investment in indoor air quality has made a massive difference. Atlas installed a 5-inch Carrier Air Purifier paired with a REME HALO LED. For the first time in the four years we've lived in this home, I woke up without a stuffy nose! We are so satisfied with our experience and have absolutely zero buyer's remorse regarding our equipment selections or this team's phenomenal support. I highly recommend Atlas AC Repair to anyone looking for a dialed-in, high-performance HVAC solution backed by a highly skilled team!

Atlas AC installed a two Carrier 3 ton units in my house, and balanced the ventilation duck work to get better air flow in the bedrooms. The job was performed flawlessly by Freddie and the team. Atlas has upfront pricing on their web site and excellent videos on you tube to help the customer make informed decisions. I highly recommended Atlas a very trustworthy company for your AC install and repairs!

We were due a bi-yearly system check up. Brian arrived on time and completed the check up/service timely and competently. He was friendly and took good care of himself and his work. So glad he is part of the Atlas team and he’s been our service man. Completely trust him and Atlas.

I rarely leave reviews, but I feel obligated to share my experience with Atlas Air Repair. I contacted them on May 29, 2026 for a new HVAC installation and to fix airflow issues in two back bedrooms. After speaking with Tommy and having an inspection done by Brian, I agreed to install a new unit, a UV light, a 4” HEPA filter, and to diagnose and resolve the airflow issue. I paid a deposit the same day. The installation took place on June 2. After the work was completed, I was told the airflow issue was fixed. It wasn’t. I was advised to wait 12–24 hours, so I trusted their guidance and paid the remaining balance. Later that same day, I discovered that the 4” HEPA filter I paid for had not been installed at all. On June 3, I called because the problems persisted—and got worse. The back bedrooms still lacked airflow, the front room became warmer, and the indoor humidity rose above 80%. Even though the thermostat showed cooling, the home was uncomfortable. On June 4, they returned to install the missing filter. When I asked what had been done about the airflow and humidity issues, I was initially told the filter would resolve it. Only after I insisted did they check the ductwork, where they found multiple issues affecting the back rooms. Now I’m scheduled for a third visit on June 9, the day before I leave for vacation. At this point: I’ve paid in full The original problem has not been resolved A key component I paid for was missed entirely I’ve had to repeatedly follow up just to get issues addressed The lack of communication and follow-through has been very disappointing. I expected a complete and professional job, but instead I’ve had to manage the process myself. I’m hoping the next visit finally resolves everything, but based on my experience so far, I would strongly recommend confirming all work is completed and fully tested before making final payment.

Brian was exceptionally meticulous and thorough in his work. He was hardworking, courteous, and clearly takes pride in doing the job right. Reliable, professional, and easy to work with — I would highly recommend him for any AC maintenance or repair needs.
