About

American H.V.A.C. operates out of Fort Worth, Texas, where they focus on heating and cooling systems as an independent dealer for American Standard equipment. They hold NATE certification and serve as a charter member in the customer care program that began back in 1998. This setup lets them provide round-the-clock emergency service for homeowners dealing with breakdowns. In a place like Fort Worth, where summers hit hard, these folks stay ready to handle the demands of local houses and their HVAC needs without any runaround. They also support remote diagnostics when system data gets shared and offer financing plans to spread out the cost of new installations or major work.

They handle repairs like sealing up condensation leaks on pipes by adding insulation and keeping costs low for straightforward fixes. Technicians show up the same day even when it is over 100 degrees outside, getting units running again before the day ends. Maintenance visits keep systems in check, and they tackle full repairs when something fails during peak heat. Homeowners note how the crew confirms the real issue instead of pushing extra work, and they finish jobs quickly after getting the call from property managers or direct requests. The team works on matched systems with heat pumps and air handlers that fit Texas weather patterns, making sure air flows evenly and temperatures stay steady inside.

Reviews highlight fast arrivals, straight talk on costs, and solid fixes that hold up. People mention fair charges for simple jobs and reliable service that beats out bigger outfits quoting way more without checking the equipment. The team stays on schedule and answers calls promptly, which matters when the Texas heat is on. This consistent performance across speed, workmanship, value, and clear updates builds their reputation. DIRT Score 4.17 from 13 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say

Depends rate you on the fact that you have a man in a truck with no AC. SHAMEFUL!!! But he is the best you have sent out. The other guy never does anything. He never checked out the unit. The unit was found to have issues that should have been resolved 8 months ago when you first came out here. I had an ac company and the other guy you sent last time the young on I would have fired the first time he service the unit. This guy may be old but he knows what he is doing and he serviced the entire unit. You had a duct trunk line fallen and clasped, you also had the heat and cool in the furnace backwards. He also checked the freon and recalibrated. But to have a service man driving around in one of your service truck without AC and your mechanic knows it, is beyond shameful, disrespectful and disgraceful in Texas heat. You lose this guy you will have lost a lot. So for that you do not get a good rating. As to the tech he is 5 star.....

Michael came to provide a comfort balance adjustment and he was AMAZING. Not only did he make sure to teach us but he also looked for and executed solutions for us outside of a standard balance adjustment. Michael was very kind, pleasant, patient, and even funny. He deserves a raise!!

Big TX AC companies service tech JD was outstanding and his knowledge is unmatched with HVAC systems. JD diagnosed the issue within minutes. JD has been serving AC units for numerous years and his professional skill set is over the top. The customer service at Big Tx is exceptional. Great Company!

I’ve been doing AC maintenance with Big Tex for 3 years, but I’m done using them. Had a tech out a month ago for “maintenance” and to top off Freon. Four weeks later, my AC stopped cooling. Called a different company and they added 3 more lbs of Freon and told me it was an evaporator coil leak —and that there’s no way that much Freon would leak in just 4 weeks if Big Tex actually topped it off properly. Basically, the Big Tex tech either missed the leak or saw it and said nothing. On top of that, he claimed he cleaned the coils, but the new tech showed me how filthy they were—no way they got that dirty again in a month. Makes me feel like I was charged for nothing. I ended up having to pay another $2100 to actually fix the issue Big Tex should have caught. Very disappointed and no longer trust them to be honest or thorough.

I am highly disappointed with Big Tex HVAC Inc. This was for a brand-new house build, and they still managed to install the completely wrong ductwork and vent size for my bedroom, ruining the airflow. My bedroom is reading 77 degrees while the rest of the house is reading 71 degrees. To make matters worse, they scheduled an appointment to come out and fix their mistake. I took off work and waited all day, but they completely no-showed. No phone call, no text, and no respect for my time. Their poor workmanship on a new construction and absolute lack of professionalism is unacceptable. Avoid this company. Avoid any builder that uses this company. Update: they called and left a message at 10:00 pm saying they were on their way. This is wildly inappropriate and very concerning. I will be getting in touch with my builder in the morning.
