About
G And J Air Conditioning And Heating operates as a family-run HVAC outfit right in Houston, Texas. Patrick serves as the lead technician after finishing up at Philadelphia Wireless Technical Institute and putting in years on the job since 1992. Gloria handles the administration after spending decades in research work, while her son Michael stepped in as operations manager and HVAC technician. The crew sticks to straightforward service and repair along with full system installs and preventive maintenance for both homes and commercial spots. They offer free estimates and focus on keeping equipment in good shape through regular tune-ups that extend lifespan and cut down on surprise breakdowns common in Houston heat.
Daniel and his crew handle the heavy lifting on installs like putting in two separate new units for one homeowner while working around schedules and staying competitive on price. Another job saw the team replace both heaters plus an upstairs air conditioner all in a single day, followed by a full cleanup of every work area inside and out plus clear explanations on how everything runs to avoid future issues. They also manage commercial refrigeration calls and preventive visits that include two tune-ups yearly along with discounts on repairs and diagnostics. The approach centers on figuring out root causes during repairs instead of just swapping parts, which keeps systems reliable through Houston's tough weather swings.
Homeowners keep coming back because the crew shows up when promised, finishes jobs without dragging things out, and explains diagnostics in plain terms so nothing feels like a mystery. Reviews highlight solid quality on full installs and repairs that hold up, along with fair pricing that fits what was quoted and direct communication that builds trust from start to finish. That steady performance across dozens of calls adds up to strong marks in speed, workmanship, and value. DIRT Score 4.78 from 60 reviews on Finds.

“J&G arrived on time and replaced both heaters and the upstairs air conditioner in one day. Extremely professional, very courteous and did a thorough clean up of all areas they worked in both inside and outside. Explained all functions and the extra steps to ensure there would be no mishaps. Used Goodman components with a 10-year warranty. Even offered senior discounts. Highly recommend.”

“J&G installed new inside and outside A/C unit with new ductwork and new disconnect in October 2021. I woke up 1-11-25 with no heat.I called Monday 1-13-25 and made appointment for Wednesday (my day off)1-15-25.Tech showed up Wednesday, I followed him up in the attic, and he discovered the burnt wires and melted disconnect and told me that was from a power surge. Later that day I received the estimate from them for $750 to replace the disconnect and install surge protector. I took pictures of the melted wires and showed my neighbor(Who knows a lot more about electricity than I do) He advised me to seek second opinion that the wiring did not look correct to him, I informed J&G that they installed the disconnect and I wasn’t sure that it was wired right to begin with and they said well you’re welcome to seek another opinion, so I had to take the day off Thursday and called local electrician out($232) Electrician looked at it said this was not caused by a power surge, Was not wired correctly to begin with, and I was lucky it didn’t burn my house down.Large wire From breaker box(100 amp)was trying to be fed into disconnect that was too small for that wire so strands were cut (and ground) to make it fit.(As seen in pics) Then the wire coming from disconnect going into heater was too small, was only big enough to handle 30 Amps not the 60 Amp wire needed, which eventually over time heated up and melted to the point of failure (read notes by electrician) electrician gave me estimate of over $2000 to run new wire from breaker box with new breakers and new disconnect box and wires. I forwarded this information to JNG, Who claimed it wasn’t their fault and they would not warranty it(You can read their text to me) When I tried calling them, they would not answer phone, I left voicemail, asking to call me, which they never did. I’ve never been more disappointed with a company in my life. I would say stay away from this company as far as you can! If I could give zero stars, I would. I also called Tom Tynan(the home improvement guy on AM 610 radio) and explained the situation, he also said this would not have been caused by power surge and agreed with the electricians findings, and told me to report J&G to Carrier(the manufacturer of the unit)”
“I wanted to share my great experience with this air conditioning company. They completed my service very quickly, offered an excellent price, and were extremely professional. 100% recommended.”
