Hobart Service
HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
Hobart Service operates in Houston, TX and focuses on hvac work along with commercial appliance repairs for businesses and facilities around the area. The company handles equipment breakdowns in kitchens and similar setups where daily use takes a toll in the local climate. Houston operators face frequent issues with units that run hard through long shifts and heat, so quick response on parts like thermostats or controls matters when something stops working mid-service. They draw from a network that supports various brands but stick to what the jobs actually require on site.
Their work includes inspecting and attempting fixes on items such as commercial stoves, dishwashers, and mixers. One job at Kids R Kids of Jersey Village involved replacing a thermostat on a failed stove with a $303 part plus labor and fees that reached $1616 total. Another call from Thomas Lau covered a dishwasher check that took 17 minutes yet was billed for two full hours at high rates. Andrea Michelle described a visit to her bakery where a technician worked nearly four hours on a Hobart Legacy Mixer without resolving the speed dial issue and pushed extra lubricant. Michael Mladenka reported delays, unfulfilled visit promises, and an unexpected $3000 charge on file.
Customers consistently note problems with inflated labor hours, repairs that do not hold or finish, extra charges that approach replacement costs, and poor follow through on scheduling. These patterns across the reviews show repeated issues with price accuracy, completion speed, and overall management that drag down results. DIRT Score 2.16 from 25 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“The business stove failed. They charged me $303 for the spare part and $1,198 for labor, trip charge, freight and supplies for a total invoice of $1,616. A new identical stove price is $1,959. So I ended up paying almost the price of a new stove to have a $303 thermostat replaced. I will never call this company again.”
“We wanted to have our dishwasher inspected that just passed our 1 year warranty by a few months. Hobarts technician tried to overcharge us for the labor by reporting 2 hours of labor @ 200/hr but the inspection only took 17 min. Not sure how someone can do business like this.”
“Horrible! This company is a rip-off!! Nice guy, but he spent nearly 4 hours at my bakery and still didn't fix the problem with my Hobart Legacy Mixer. He up sold us on some $200 lubricant for the machine. He tinkered with the speed dial, but the knob speed dial still spins around, and speed 3 still isn't working. The service call fee and the per hour rate are highway robbery.”
“Hobart is slow, poorly managed and recently lied about coming for a visit and charged a card we have on file with them for nearly $3,000. I warn everyone to do business with anyone else. Chandlers or Cayard’s is much better.”
“I have a 33 year old Robot Coupe food processor that suddenly quit working. If not for its sentimental value, I would have probably relegated it to landfill. Instead I tried to have it fixed and drove 40 mins to Hobart Repairs. Unfortunately they do not service residential appliances and are strictly a commercial service. However, this didn’t stop senior repair tech Wade from taking a look. He found there was nothing wrong and the reason it stopped working was failure of the safety pin on the bowl to depress the latch. This simple check cost me a handshake! If this is how they treat their customers, you are in excellent hands even with more complex jobs. I give them 5 stars for superb service, even when it’s not their job!!!”
