James Gregory Hough
HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
James Gregory Hough operates an HVAC business out of Plano, Texas. This area experiences extreme summer temperatures that put tremendous strain on cooling equipment for extended periods. Residents deal with repeated system failures as the mercury rises above one hundred degrees and aging units cannot maintain adequate performance. His work centers on residential heating and cooling services to meet the challenges posed by local climate conditions. Homes in the region frequently require maintenance on ductwork, thermostat replacements, and overall system evaluations to ensure consistent comfort without excessive energy consumption during both hot summers and cooler winters. The intense Texas sun and sudden cold snaps mean systems get tested constantly throughout the seasons.
He handles service calls for air conditioning repairs when compressors stop working or airflow becomes restricted during the hottest months, in addition to furnace tune ups before winter arrives and complete system replacements for units that have reached the end of their useful life. Technicians arrive to identify problems such as refrigerant leaks or malfunctioning fan motors right away and install necessary components to bring cooling back online quickly. Jobs also cover unclogging condensate drains to prevent water issues and adjusting airflow for balanced temperatures in every room. Homeowners count on this kind of prompt attention because the weather in Plano offers no breaks from the heat, and a proper repair prevents the need for multiple callbacks when moisture levels rise.
Reviewers consistently give high marks for quick response times when arriving at service locations, the durability of fixes that hold up over time, reasonable costs that avoid unexpected charges, and straightforward communication that keeps everyone informed from start to finish. These strengths combine to deliver dependable outcomes for many projects throughout the Plano region. Homeowners value the practical methods that address the tough environmental demands without complications. The pattern of positive comments reflects a solid reputation built on handling real world HVAC challenges effectively in this part of Texas. DIRT Score 4.43 from 48 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“Dr. Gregory successfully repaired multiple injuries to my shoulder following a non-vehicular accident. Flexibility and strength are now full. It feels great. He and his staff were attentive and informative at every turn. I recommend them highly.”
“Dr Gregory was a pleasure to work with. He saw me the same day I fell and broke my shoulder. He did surgery the next day. He was very patient with me and did a great job. I would highly recommend him. The office facility and staff are also very welcoming.”
“Amazing experience with Dr Gregory and his team. They were all great at preparing me for surgery and the recovery process. I went from daily pain, limited activities and loss of sleep to feeling like myself again. Highly recommend him!”
“In my 90 day follow up with Dr Gregory I told him he should be wearing a cape because he is a super hero! Dr Gregory did a total shoulder replacement on my left shoulder. I injured my shoulder 8 years ago and it developed arthritis and was starting to become debilitating. My shoulder is like brand new. Such a game changer! Since there is no more arthritis the muscles are healing and the pain is completely gone. It gets stronger every day. I’m not kidding! Imagine if your pain is completely gone. About the initial recovery, it was a piece of cake. The pain was very minimal. Dr Gregory told me the morning of the surgery I wouldn’t have that much pain and he was right! Also his staff is superb and the whole process from first appointment and all the way through rehab was absolutely perfect. If you are considering some sort of shoulder surgery do not hesitate. Dr Gregory is a super hero! 12/8 update. At less than 100 days I went pheasant hunting in South Dakota in the freezing cold carrying a shotgun for three days. Shoulder didn’t hurt one time at all. That’s crazy! 01/08/25 - Still going strong, I can do a 105 lb push press and work out with 25lb dumbbells with ease. I can tell no difference between my real and replaced shoulder. I can sleep on it as well with no issues.”
“Dr. Gregory, his staff, and UT Health might be quite possibly the worst hospital system in Houston. I called the UT Health scheduling line to schedule an appointment and told them I had neck/back pain. They said they found a doctor who specialized in neck/back pain (Dr. Gregory). I had no idea his specialization was not, in fact, neck/back, but shoulder issues. Despite seeing him for two visits and (only) complaining of neck/back pain, the notes left in my chart were that I had bilateral shoulder pain. They scheduled an MRI of what I thought was supposed to be my neck/back, but was instead my shoulder, and that is when I realized what his specialty was. No one had ever mentioned shoulder issues was his specialty (not him, nor his assistants). When I called in to understand why my MRI was my shoulder, his assistant was incredibly rude and defensive and blamed me. After going to see another surgeon, it turned out I had no disc left between my C6/C7 and needed a spinal fusion. Which, I could have had done way earlier had they simply shared they were not the appropriate doctor. I also have an expensive bill from the shoulder MRI, which was completely unnecessary and showed no issues, because that was not the source of my pain. Truly unbelievable experience.”
