Jon Mechanical Systems, Inc
HVAC Contractor · Houston, TX
About
Jon Mechanical Systems, Inc operates out of Houston as an HVAC outfit handling the usual demands of local homes and buildings. Houston heat and humidity keep these systems running hard year round, with constant calls for repairs when units fail during peak summer months. The crew takes on standard mechanical work plus some related electrical tasks that come up during installs or upgrades. No long company history shows up in the notes, so they come across as a straightforward local shop focused on getting HVAC jobs done without extra layers. Homeowners in the area deal with frequent breakdowns from the weather, and this group steps in for those routine fixes and bigger overhauls that keep air moving properly.
They handle AC repairs that show up on short notice, such as restoring cooling on a Saturday morning after an evening failure, and they diagnose problems that other outfits miss or misquote. One job involved Mitch and his team working long hours in the rain to complete an electric panel upgrade along with a new line and oven install. Another case saw them clean a unit properly where prior companies either overcharged for basic work or pushed for full replacements without checking the real issue. On the flip side, a wiring mistake doubled the voltage on a motor during one project, leaving it damaged and the fix unfinished nearly a year later after payment had already gone through. Houston jobs often mix these HVAC fixes with electrical tie-ins, and the crew moves fast on the straightforward ones while sticking to fair pricing when things go right.
Customers give consistent credit for quick response times and accurate problem solving that avoids unnecessary costs, along with solid communication on the jobs that wrap up clean. The lower marks come from delays and quality slips like the motor damage that dragged on without resolution, pulling the overall rating down despite the strong showings on speed and price in several cases. Mixed results across the jobs explain the middle score rather than any single standout strength or weakness. DIRT Score 3 from 14 reviews on Finds.

What Customers Say
“AC went out Thursday evening, no help from anyone on Friday. Called Johnson Mechanical on Friday evening, Saturday morning, tech was out at 0930, unit was fixed by 1015. Brownwood needs and deserves this type of customer service. Fair price too I might add. Recommend!”
“I was very pleased with this company. They were quick and didn’t waste any time. TWO other companies came and didn’t tell me the actual issue with it. One cleaned it and charged me more than this company and the other just quoted me for a whole new system while letting my family suffer in the heat for over a week while we applied for loans we supposedly didn’t qualify for. Very grateful to the men who came out, they were fast and seemed to be highly knowledgeable about their trade. Would most definitely recommend! Fairly priced also.”
“My project started almost a year ago and JM was highly motivated to get started, it was great. During the work they broke a motor of mine due to wiring double the voltage needed. I made the mistake of paying them before they fixed it and we are 11 months later and still not fixed, causing me lots of extra labor. I have called probably 50 times as its been a game at this point. *IF* they answer I get told the same thing every time 'We will get back to you'. Well no one ever gets back to me, ever. Crazy how easy they were to work with in the beginning... before I paid. Complete disrespect and I am a family friend. Proceed with caution.”
“Mitch and his team are great & worked long hours in the rain to get it all done! Our electric panel was upgrade, new line & oven install. We’re very pleased & will definitely call on you if we have any needs in the future.”
“Will not fix issue with ac unit they put in and love ignoring phone calls from us and emails from American standard which is trying to help us. It’s about to be freezing and out of Freon again on a 4 year old unit that they have to replace the evaporator coil and replace Freon on every year and they stopped trying to fix it and have been ignoring all phone calls unless we get the office and they say will get back to you and they don’t! I have children and my heat will not be able to keep up with this cold coming in. Shame on them!”
